Spent $2000 to install an EV charger. Getting a grounding fault error. Tried to schedule 2 visits to have ABC come look at it and fix it. now 1 STAR UPDATE: Below was my initial 5 star review after my first experience. It has been downhill since. After they came out the first time to fix my HVAC, I started having a different problem. They were able to come back and give an estimate on repairs, which I said I wanted to think over. When I finally called back to confirm I wanted to move forward, they said they would order parts and never did. 2 weeks went by without any update. When I finally called they stated no parts were ordered. They finally were able to order parts (and charge me $500+ for), but they continued to ignore me and not update me. When I finally called back for an update, they had no record of parts being ordered and they could not tell me what the $500+ charge was for. Communication has been horrendous and getting them to do any actual work has been like pulling teeth. read more

Paid a lot for a heat pump installation "service package" that included guarantees, then paid monthly for a "membership" that included complimentary tuneups. They leave you hanging the whole day for the tuneup and rescheduled three times. Then guy comes inspects a fairly new appliance. All smiles everything is pretty new and fine, just passing comment "the wheel was a bit dusty I cleaned it off".... With my hose and water. Next thing I know get a close to $700 invoice emailed later for the clean off. Can't even see the dust in the picture. You'd think that would be part of the "complimentary tuneup" SCAM! I called two days ago to have a clogged pipe cleared and I was told via customer service and multiple texts that a tech would be coming today. Because they did not give me a service window, I waited around all day. I did call in the morning and was told that the service window would be from 12-2. No further communication until a call at 6pm stating that no tech would be coming today and no one would be available for the next 5 days (a week from my initial call. Do not use this company. They are not helpful. I paid $9,000 for a system that was not grounded properly for 3 years and it never worked as intended. Every winter i had problems with the unit malfunctioning not knowing the entire time that the system was hooked up using a bad ground connection. This past winter was brutal and because of the intermittent functionality air was introduced into my lines causing pockets of air and frozen water in my closed radiated system. The company took no responsibility for the repair work required that i had to do myself, the parts that needed to be purchased and the restoration work needed. ABC did a great job replacing our old tank hot water heater with a new tankless version. It has been working great and it's wonderful to not run out of hot water! They also added a whole house filter/ softener system. The Halo water filter. This has also been working exceptionally well so far. Plus they helped us install a new utility sink. Jonathan helped outline all the items that were available to fit our needs. He helped us work through pricing and an install plan. The pricing was reasonable and they were very quick to get the work done. Outstanding! Roman helped lead the team doing the work. He was punctual. Showed up on time. Got the work done. A close trusted friend had recommended them. So even though the reviews didn't look great on Yelp, they looked very good on Google. So we decided to take a chance and couldn't be happier. We called for an electrician. My bathroom light was causing some lights to blink. The first technician who came wanted to sell us a new box with a price tag of $3,000. Then another one came and said we needed new light bulbs in the bathroom. I told him that the fan part had fallen down and he should check it. Did he...no, instead charged us $300 for light bulbs. What a joke. Guess what my son checked it out and there was a wire not connected. It cost 000 dollars.. Very sad that this company is ripping people off. read more

Gerald Malavez came out today, Saturday morning (8/23/2025), to make a quick adjustment to one of the gas valves for the dryer in the basement. He was just at our home almost two weeks ago for the initial replacement of three new gas valves throughout the house. My mother specifically requested Mr. Malavez for this follow-up visit because she was so pleased with how smoothly everything went the first time. She really likes him, and I do too. Absolutely horrible. We contacted them because we needed electrical work done quickly. The supervisor came out, gave us a quote for an unusually high price, and then the repair guy never showed up, even after multiple calls and texts. I had to go back to work by a certain time, so I canceled the job. However, we were stuck with a $400 deposit on our credit card. They promised to reimburse most of it (except for a charge for the service call) but didn't follow up. Total rip-off. This is easily the WORST repair business that I have ever worked with, and I regret ever hiring them. read more

The Technician Shane was scheduled to check with camera to our external sewer pipe connected to the city. Somehow after speaking with Shane and confirming the appointment and he was on his way to my home the appointment got canceled. I absolutely did not canceled the appointment. I called customer service and spoke with Connor. He was professional. He handled my problem because I was very upset. He dug deep and was willing to listen to the call and got the job done. The job has been rescheduled for the next day. Again ABC Plumbing has been absolutely the best. The work Kenneth and Darnell last week was outstanding. I couldn't be happier. I had a appointment with abc for the ultimate air conditioning tune up and all I got was a inspection of my furnace and gauges hooked up to my Air conditioner. When we went out back I pointed out the water hose and he acknowledged it, later I asked him if he was going to clean the unit and he said it was fine. After he left I inspected the unit and the fins are blocked by dirt and cotton. So, I didn't get any refrigerant added or a cleaning. I scheduled an appointment to fix a plumbing leak. The first available service day was a Sunday, and I was informed that the work day was from 10 am to 5 pm. At 1 pm, I called to check the status of my appointment. I was told that I was the next on the list and would be called within 30 to 45 minutes before the technician arrived. However, when I called again at 2:30 pm, I was informed by Juan that I was still the next one and that they couldn't provide any further information or contact the technician for an estimated time of arrival. Unfortunately, there were no supervisors available to assist me and I'd have to wait until Monday to raise my concerns. ABC did not arrive for the appointment nor did they call to say they would not be coming. It is reasonable to think ABC would have called to apologize for the inconvenience and ask if I'd like to reschedule. None of that happened. read more

CALL ABC AND CONSIDER IT DUD! I had a horrible experience with ABC Plumbing /Electric/HVAC yesterday! They were supposed to come and either repair or replace the garbage disposal. I had all the usual confirmations ahead of time. I waited all morning, and finally around noon was told I was confirmed for service and they would call as soon as a technician was assigned. Jump to 3:10pm, I call again, and am told technician has been assigned and I am next. Jump to 5:30pm, I call yet again (no one from customer service ever reached out to me) only to be told that they were canceling my service for yesterday. Not even an excuse was given. This was terribly handled and I would not hire these guys to screw in a lightbulb going forward. I waited all day from 7:30pm-5:30pm only to be canceled. read more

Tech showed up at 9:30 PM and was there until 3 AM and nothing got repaired. He tried to sell me used parts for cash. He forged my digital signature. Quoted me $1200 for a circuit board. ABC can't tell you when the technician will be there or even give you a window. They just tell you that they'll text you before they get there, apparently even if it's in the middle of the night. I called another HVAC company who fixed it in 30 minutes, it was just a loose wire. Sleazy practices. Worth a report to the state attorney general. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. Furnace went out Saturday so I called then early afternoon since they advertised same day service. I was told the soonest they could come was after 10am sunday morning which I was ok with since really cold weather wasnt coming until sunday night. I called and after being put on hold for several minutes was told they couldn't get to me sunday as promised because of a lack of technicians working. My main valve in my home was leaking. I called ABC Plumbing in a panic and they sent an inspector/adjuster out right away. He quoted me 1400 to replace the main valve and said it was out of code. He also wanted to do the valve and water heater but thanfully I rejected those. He further explained a team could come out next day. Since I figured this was an emergency issued I said yes , booked the service and paid $700 upfront. Edgar advised I could call to cancel however they would refund me my half minus a $59 fee to which I agreed. I am now 2 weeks and 5 phone calls in with no refund in sight. If I could leave this company a 0 star review I would. My husband and I used ABC for a new AC unit. When our electric outlet in our basement went out, we contacted them to come and assess. Their assessment was that we needed an entirely new electrical panel because there was condensation that built up in the area of the panel. They quoted $8,700 for the panel. I thought that was high so I went to google that quoted the most the panel would cost would be $4, 500. I didn't stop there and called several companies and other trusted electricians at my job. They found the $8,700 quote laughable. ABC's website says they will give you an honest and trusted quote. Now, that's even more laughable. I will NEVER contact them again. They cannot be trusted. I employed another company who came out and made their assessment. There was a GCFI switch that we didn't realize existed. This electrician pushed the button and everything started working. That switch was tripped. ABC didn't even look for this switch or realize it existed. NEVER CALL THEM FOR A TRUSTED QUOTE. We paid $100 to this electrician instead of $8,700 to ABC. read more

I had an extremely frustrating experience with ABC. When the technician came out for our furnace, he tried to scare us by saying prices would skyrocket on January 1st, pressuring us to act fast. He gave an "estimate" that was much lower than what the sales rep quoted just a few hours later. When the sales rep arrived, the price for a furnace jumped to a shocking $10k, far above what was initially discussed. It felt like a classic bait-and-switch tactic. I was made to feel like I had no choice but to pay the inflated price due to the supposed price increase. This was completely unethical, and I won't be using their services ever again. They have implemented an AI answering service and customer contact system. I had two days of no call- no shows after receiving email and text confirmations. Each day I received both a text and email with a photo and notice that the tech was on the way. Two days of no shows. Multiple calls, excessive holds (+ 20 minutes) and no answers or explanations. I think the text notices announcing the tech may have been AI generated- last minute switches. I am a member of "the club". What is the benefit of a monthly subscription. On Dec 16 secured the services of ABC Plumbing (220 Campus Dr., Arlington Heights, IL) regarding a small leak from the pressure relief valve on my water heater. My husband was in Florida , so I called for service and worked with the technician. I was told by the technician that the presure relief valve needed to be replaced. He did not have the part in his truck - but drove to the local hardware store to purchase the valve. He replaced the small relief valve (which took less than one hour - much of which was spent in him trying to sell me a maintenance contract). The bill came to $796.50 but being totally unaware of the costs associated for such work, I paid the amount due in full. I received an email copy of the bill which did not indicate any details - only the cost of $796.50. The next day I spoke with several neighbors about this charge and was told that they had paid around $200 for the same repair. I also got quotes from plumbing competitors which also quoted similar repair charges. Frustrated I went to the local hardware store (where the technician purchased the valve) and saw that this hardware store charges $20 for the valve. I called ABC Plumbing and spoke with their customer experience rep, he told me he would investigate. I was told that ABC pricing is by the "job" - not the hour. (I should have asked for the hour pricing, since I was actually charged $776.50 per hour. The best the customer experience rep could do was to offer me a $50 credit and a $50 coupon to be used for future ABC work. (ARE YOU KIDDING ME) In review I could have purchased a totally new hot water heater for the price I paid for this simple repair. (I watched the technician replace the valve -- easily done) This company is a SCAM and totally overpriced the job that was done. They take advantage of customers with outlandish pricing. ABC advertises on TV like crazy and now I understand why they can afford to pay for these ads.....they rip off unassuming customers with overpricing and price gouging. I was informed that I would get an email confirming which never came. I finally asked for a human assistant. I was informed that there was an issue with there email system.
