You should also shop around because some places offer bonus services that you may or may not need, or may even be hazardous to the occupants of the home, like sealants or chemicals. Check the EPA page on "Should You Have the Air Ducts in Your Home Cleaned?" for a thorough treatment of the topic, though note that it's much less enthusiastic about duct cleaning than people's subjective experiences, especially people with allergies or sensitivities, or if you've just done a remodel. I'd refer to "Is it worth it to get your air ducts cleaned?" on r/homeowners and "Is air duct cleaning a scam?" on r/hvacadvice. With that out of the way, Miguel cleaned our ducts quite thoroughly. He inserted the vacuum to the air handling unit. This would provide the negative pressure to ensure most of the dust and debris would go to the vacuum. Then he use a air compressor to knock loose the dust at each register and as far into the ventilation as he could push the nozzle. My registers unfortunately went up towards the attic, so dust was guaranteed to get knocked loose into the room, so we had to vacuum. This would have gone smoother if Mr. Duct had sent a partner with Miguel. Miguel was also very helpful in airdropping the photos of the ducts to my phone, which was important because we were trying to identify what might be triggering allergic reactions. For roughly $300, it was very reasonable. I would recommend Mr. Duct to those who need duct cleaning services. read more

I recommend this company, they were able to fit me in the same day service at a great price! The gentleman that did my air ducks and dryer vent was okay, a little bit careless and worked rushed. I wish he would've been more careful and taken his time he would have better work quality. He broke my ring holder while moving furniture around (I got credited back) and left residue of the dust behind. Very good experience with Mr. Duct. I always use Yelp for finding service to home services. I happened to check Yelps quoting system and Mr Duct came back with a quote rather quickly. In this instance I had a clogged dryer vent,the clothes were taking a long time to dry and I notice there was extra long behind the dryer. They accept several forms of payment including cash, check and credit card. They came exactly when they said they were - giving me a 30min prior phone call and then completed within about half an hour. They measured the air flow before and after and proved that it was cleared out as a result. One gentleman came to clear my air ducts and dryer vents. He was alone and so it took longer than the estimated time. He was very professional and seemingly thorough. However, soon after the cleaning I had a new HVAC system installed. It was not working well and a person came out to check the issue. He came out with a dirty air filter (see picture) and said that with the stronger blowers on a new system it can clean the ducts. I mentioned that I recently had my ducts cleaned. His response was that 1) he did not see that there was a hole made for cleaning and 2) those companies don't have the best reputation. Mmmm.... why did my furnace blower clean the ducts better than the cleaning person's blowers? I was satisfied at the time the job was completed but now looking at this two week old air filter really not sure what was actually done. read more

We have a 2nd floor stackable unit in a tight closet where the dryer wasn't heating well and the technician said it was due to a clogged vent. We couldn't easily clean it ourselves due to the vent over the steep garage roof. Mr. Duct gave us a fantastic quote and the 2 gentlemen were great at handling our tough situation. Your wonderful crew took the time to talk to my wife about what they were going to do, how they were going to do it and even showed her several dirty and nasty ducts. Had a great experience with Mr. Duct. We had a badly blocked dryer vent and he was able to clear the vent. He tested our dryer afterwards to make sure we had the proper amount of air flow through the vent. The price was right in line with two other companies we contacted. Not sure which location serviced us as calls from "the office" weren't coming from the Lake Forest location. The guys were friendly and took about 2 hours. Our house is on a slab, no basement. I informed them of that when setting up service. They didn't have a way to hook up the vacuum so one of the guys held the vacuum hose up to a duct for a while while the other guy put the air whip in the ducts. All the ducts and supply vent covers had been removed so I'm not sure how "negative pressure" was achieved. They didn't vacuum vents or supplies unless there was a lot of dust/dog hair at the opening. Don't know how the inner workings of the system got clean only putting the air whip in a few feet on each duct/vent. Dust is less but not totally gone. They blew the dryer vent lint out from inside and didn't use a bag to collect and made a mess outside. Nice guys. We'll see if $345 was worth it. Thought they would use brushed but no. read more

Fantastic. I had already received a quote but had held back because our remodeling was taking longer than expected. Despite still undertaking renovations, today I wanted to get them in - I could tell the vents were dirty and I just wanted to get them clean! I emailed this morning and was able to get an appointment this afternoon. 1pm prompt the guys turned up - very professional, friendly and curteous.
