We just moved into a new house and called ABC after all the painting and remodeling was done since all of the vendors had our keys. They were available within two days, came at the early end of the 10-12 time block, called 10-30 min prior to arrival, and were done changing the locks within 15 minutes. I just finished getting the doors of my home re- keyed. It was a great experience start to finish. I called the office around 11:00 am and they had someone at my door by 1:00 pm. Ryan was very professional and went right to work explaining how my front door was different than rest of the door, he went to work on those doors while I searched for front door key. Lost my truck key, and this is the company Triple A was sending. The service guy called me after it was all set up to inform me it would cost an extra $100 out of pocket because of distance. I was 20 miles out of town, so basically they charge an extra $5/mile, or a little over $200/hour. All in all, they wanted $325 to cut a truck key. Bait and switch con artists. read more

I would've done 5 stars if they would have sent Ruben in the first place. Unfortunately they sent someone who seem to be a nice guy but confused of the work that needed to be done which for a moment I had a doubt if they could do the work or not. I'm assuming they noticed it and sent Ruben who explained in detail the work that had to be done. Aww man lost my keys in vegas over the weekend . Called a couple locksmiths and they answeard. The service was fast and the locksmith got my car opened and made me a key for my car on the spot. Cost me a whopping $ 200.00, 5 star service kinda expensive so don't do anything stupid in vegas like getting drunk and losing your keys cause it won't be cheap. September marks the 30th anniversary of my residency in Las Vegas, and I can honestly say my interaction today with the two individuals working at ABC Locksmith was the worst customer service experience I've ever had in all my time living here. As I walked through the door at seven minutes to five in order to get one key duplicated, I was immediately greeted with a shouted "You'd better hurry up, we're closing in five minutes!" by a heavy-set older man standing behind the counter whose name tag read 'Steve'. No "Welcome to ABC" or "Sorry sir, we need to inform you that we are closing soon" or anything else to that effect. I ignored his rudeness, showed him the key, and said, "Can you duplicate this?" Instead of removing my key, he took the entire ring from me and went to the back of the room while the other guy with him mumbled something to him and they both chuckled. I wasn't expecting Disney-caliber customer service, but the atmosphere was beyond chilly - it was just short of hostile. All because it looked like I had dared to interrupt the schedule of these two clock-watchers. While I waited at the counter for Steve, another patron entered behind me with a bag of keys and approached the counter. The man said, "I'd like to get some keys made". Before he had even reached the counter, the other employee, whose name tag said 'Vince', moved quickly to the counter and with no greeting of any kind, said, "Well you came a bit late, bud. We're closed. You should have come earlier." The man became very incensed and said, "Well, if you don't want my business I'll just go elsewhere." To which Vince replied, "That's fine. I didn't say I don't want your business, you just should have come sooner." He chuckled and said it with an unbelievably hostile sneer. The other man stormed out of the building shaking his head. You could just tell they didn't want me or this other customer in there disrupting their precious exit schedule. I was completely awestruck by these two rude idiots, and after the other customer stormed out they started chuckling and discussing the interaction right in front of me commenting continuously on how rude the customer was. I watched the entire interaction and the customer was far from rude - it was completely they opposite of what they were saying had happened. Vince then commented "Like his few keys are going to pay the bills in here" or something close to that. At that point I just waited on Steve who was grinding the duplicate key for me and he walked over a few seconds later. I said, "Thank you, how much do I owe you?" and he replied "Nothing" and waved his hand across the counter. I asked "Nothing?" and he said, "No, we already closed out the register and I don't want to deal with it." I said thank you, and then Vince, who was standing to my right, chimed in and said "Just don't laugh while you are walking out like the other guy did." I just looked at him curiously and walked out - I couldn't even be bothered to argue with these two surly idiots or call them out on their rotten behavior, since it looks like they have been acting this way for quite some time now. In the span of a five minute interaction I saw them completely upset one customer, who will certainly never return - they succeeded in losing his business and whomever else he badmouths their business to. And they completely alienated me as well, and refused to accept payment from me. I'm sure my $2-$3 payment will not affect their business, but I only wondered how much this atmosphere is the status quo on a day to day basis? In my opinion, if they are employees, they should be promptly fired. If one, or both, of them are the owners, I hope they go out of business soon. There are plenty of other locksmiths in Las Vegas - I certainly won't be bringing any future business there. **Here is an addendum a couple of hours later to my initial review above. The 'complimentary' key they gave me doesn't even work. Big surprise. Epic fail. read more

I really am disappointed with this company. They ripped me off. I had an emergency, was locked out of the house and the only way to get back in was to break the lock open and put a new one on. ABC came after over an hour when they originally told me it would be half hour. It was past midnight when this happened and they showed up close to 2 am. They charged me over $200 to drill the lock open and they replaced it with a cheap brass color lock when my original was a smart lock silver color, and they told me that is all they carry! I will never ever use them again. One star is too much to give them too but they were the only one available that time of night and they took advantage of it and ripped me off. Now I have to pay to replace the ugly cheap brass lock they put on my door. read more

ABC Lock & Key came through for me when I needed them the most. I left work to try and start my car and the ignition key cylinder wouldn't even turn. And if it won't turn and my car won't start that left me waiting 2 hours for a ride or using my Lambor-feeties and hoofing it way out South in Henderson. Not good options. I remembered driving by ABC on Sunset so I looked them up on my phone and called. Response time: They promised 45 min, they were there in 30. (They had a previous call or it would have been even quicker!) Service: They had the parts I needed in the van. They were even able to cut a new key for me on the spot. I had questions, they answered them. And they took care to not scratch or damage my car. It's the little things... They had my old key cylinder out, the new one installed, and checked in less than 30 min. Results: Exceeded expectations. The lock cylinder they installed was unfortunately put to the test when someone tried to break into my car in the apartment complex I live in. They took an old PO mailbox key and jammed it into the cylinder and tried to force the cylinder to start the car. They broke the key...and couldn't take my car. After removing the broken key my regular key still works, the cylinder turns just as smoothly as ever, but the ABC installed replacement kept some punk from stealing my car. Even the Henderson PD officer who took my report was impressed as the OEM cylinder would have made for a stolen car report instead of a break in report. 5 Stars....not only that but I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. read more

Ok going into this I had zero knowledge about locks so I contacted ABC Locksmith, thinking they were trustworthy and honest, to replace my front door lock. Long story short, they wanted to charge me $500 to replace it. Got them down to $300 but I still think thats a a lot, seeing how home depot sells the lock they used for $50 . Please don't use them! They over-charge and take advantage of their customers. The only reason I am giving them 3 stars is because the woman setting up the appointments and the second guy who came out to do the actual installation were professional and friendly. read more

Can I give lower than one star? This locksmith was given to me by AAA when I lost my original set of car keys. The locksmith came over and was jamming keys in and out of my ignition but couldn't get my car to start. Ended up ruining my ignition because he was using the wrong key the entire time. I called to get it resolved and they said they would meet me at the car shop I had taken my car to, never showed up, never returned any of my phone calls. I ended up having to replace my ignition when all I needed was a key. HORRIBLE. read more

I agree.. If I could leave ZERO stars, I would. I aquired a property I had no keys for. I called to set a time for the lock to be re-keyed. I was told about the $89 fee and the $20 something for keys and what not but they neglected to tell me about the $15 fee because they had to "break" into the lock. LIke the criminals do! Really? they knew I didn't have keys. The worst part was I had a window of 11 to 1... I was then called and asked if I could change that window to 2 to 4pm I was pressed for time getting into this property but I agreed to it. I arrived at the property at 2pm. An hour later they called me and said that they would be later than that. Not until 5pm. Really? So I made sure to be there at 4:55 pm. I was then called at 5:10 and told they'd be there in 10 to 15 minutes. More like 20 when he finally got there. The technician was nice enough but I began to feel like I was on a used car lot. He offered me new, better grade locks. When I asked the price he asked if I had cash. Had I had cash I had the opportunity to have a much cheaper service call with brand new locks. Well I declined that lovely offer. I'm not that kind of employee and I don't respect it in others. Besides, I can go to home depot and buy new locks AND install them myself. When I saw all the charges I said, really? you made me wait ALL day, inconvenienced me ALL day and you don't even offer any kind of price reduction on this? Great Company. I will NEVER use this company again AND I will always offer my opinion if I ever hear anyone discussing needing a locksmith. I only used this company because I was referred to them. I've made sure to tell the referring people how awful this company was. And to you ABC, if you care enough to read your YELPs...You should make good on inconveniencing people. You were WRONG. I called and they quoted me 225. I called Las Vegas Car Keys and the gentlemen was so nice. Only charged me 40 bucks. And on top of it he was kind enough to try and defer me to someone closer in my area because he was far from me. He recommended these guys but I think they are overpriced.
