I am amazed at the service that I recently received from Peter, Sergey, and Konstantin. These guys were cool!! Two thumbs up. Firstly, they let us reschedule and the appointment worked (sweet). We had a meeting last minute, but they accommodated us. They said it was unusual for them to have an opening so quickly, so I felt they went out of their way to find one for us.  So kind. Also, they hustled their ***es off! The whole day, in and out, in the truck and out of the truck, lifting this, lifting that. I thought it was an amazing watching it all unfold. This moving company deserves a good rating and a good recommendation. Thanks for your competency and good service. Oh, and be nice and at least provide some water for these hard workers. What does it cost, like $10-15? A little nice gesture goes a long way. My boyfriend just stocked up on drinks from Costco and whatever they didn't drink, we kept! We saved a ton of money, too! I got a Groupon deal, and I ended up paying $700 total. The guys were nice and very young. During the first hour, they were chitchatting and standing around looking at each other wrap or stack. At one point, all 3 men would be going in the elevator together or stand by the truck when 1 of them is clearly not doing anything. I was told the additional hour would be $160 each hour, so I finally talked to the guys and asked them to be more efficient. They argued a little but obviously knew exactly what I was talking about. They became more efficient and conscientious after our talk. However, the last hour, 1 guy was no longer helping. He stood on the truck and folded blankets slowly. I had to ask him to lift things with me, so that I can get him involved. Honestly for $160 per hour, this was not worth 3 men. I paid for an extra hour for sure because of the standing around. Very disappointed and do not get 3 men, 2 will suffice. read more

This was the worst experience with a moving company that I have EVER experienced. I agree with a previous reviewer on how this company has any 5 star ratings. I found this company on Groupon, but instead of going directly through Groupon I wanted to give this business the whole amount and not the little that they would have gotten if I was to buy the Groupon directly. Upon doing this I scheduled a time and date to move a week in advance to avoid any loop holes. I was confirmed and scheduled, but for the wrong amount quoted. I called and spoke with someone to have this changed before I signed the agreement. The gentleman I spoke to confirmed that this would be changed and I would be sent a new confirmation that same day. Almost two days later, I didn't hear anything. I called back and he forgot and sent a few hours after that. I shrugged it because everyone is human and people forget. My move date was scheduled for a Sunday at 2-5PM, and prior to that I had to setup a reservation to use my loading elevator for the same time frame. I receive an email Friday night (weekend of my move) asking me if my move could be moved to the morning time. I had already made prior arrangements to have furniture picked up at a certain time, and that time would conflict with their morning time frame. I responded back via email and simply asked how this would be done with the time confliction. He stated that it could be done for the allotted time, but never confirmed with me nor did they ever get confirmation from me that this was a go. Because simply assuming something as so, after working all day that Saturday, I gave them a call to go over the details that would be happening the next day. I explained to them about my furniture conflict and also mentioned my loading dock time for use. He begins to talk around my questions not answering it clearly at all. After about 5 minutes of this, I asked the gentleman if he could see how confusing this is for me since I have a big move coming up the next day and I have no idea where I would meet my movers. He hangs up in my face mid sentence. After calling back at least 5 times and being sent to voicemail each time, I send an email explaining my confusion and frustration. I never receive a call back, but I do get a very nasty email from the gentleman I presume was on the phone. He starts off by saying that he didn't hang up in my face and that the reason my phone call wasn't returned is because he had more important calls to make! I had never been so insulted in all my life! After saying this, he goes to tell me how I have messed up their arrangements for moving and that they had "accommodated" me to move in the morning. I don't understand how a move that was never confirmed trumps a move that is confirmed in writing with a signed agreement! The rest of the emails sent from this company were even more insulting than the next, and if I had the choice to choose a different mover that last minute I certainly would have! After making several phone calls to my new residency I was able to move things around and take the time in the morning...after all, I had no choice! The two movers assigned to me were ok. They were extremely slow and I felt that they were doing this on purpose to get more money out of the deal. They even took a 45 minute lunch break DURING my scheduled move time. And although it wasn't added as time, it was totally inconsiderate and made my move day even longer and more stressful. I was so ready to be done with this company. The prices are ridiculous for the service and forget about being treated with respect with this staff. My roommate who also used them the very same day had a similar experience with this company AND they were extremely rude to her during the move. I would NEVER recommend this company to ANYONE! read more

I've read the reviews and was very eager to test out Abbey Moving based on what I'd read. Unfortunately, I never ended up using them because upon my first phone call I was greeted by a very unfriendly person who made it seem made it such a hassle to set an appointment. He needed information about my Moving From and Moving To address and I gladly gave it to him. I was fine with answering all the questions he needed to ask in order to set up the move. However, the way he was asking the questions just made me feel like I was bothering them by using their service. He was very short with his answers to my questions pertaining to the move. I called at 9:30am and he sounded like he just woke up. During our conversation I told him I purchased a Groupon voucher and asked how I go about using that but he totally ignored that portion of our conversation. In addition, he had a bad connection so I had to ask him to repeat his questions several times. I kept telling him "I'm sorry, you're breaking up. Could you please repeat that again?" Then he just hung up on me. I waited a few minutes to see if we just got disconnected and if he'd call me back but no call back. After that I went back on to Groupon and cancelled my voucher. read more

Not sure how these people have a five star rating. I called in to schedule my appointment for moving and as soon as I mentioned I had a Groupon they were "unavailable until May". I asked to speak to a manager and the guy said "why?" and then hung up on me. Bad customer service. If you have a Groupon, don't tell them until you've booked the day. One of the worst moving companies I've ever used first they showed up eight hours late and when they got to our house they complained that they haven't had lunch yet, expected us to buy them lunch. Told us it was going to take 8 hours to move 2 bedrooms no it's not going to take 8 hours because I've used moving companies before and it only takes 4 to 5 hours. Then they took their time asked us to help them, what the hell am I paying these guys for? Don't bother using Abbey Moving if you're in the LA or SoCal area, they've shut down! I bought a Living Social coupon just under a month ago, tried to schedule them last week for a move week after next, only they never answered the phone, or called me back after leaving multiple messages. After leaving one final upset message after a week of calling with no luck, the former manager called me while I was on the phone with Living Social trying to get a refund( a whole other mess). He said he heard my last message just by luck, as they are closed!!! He explained that they shut down the business and are moving up to the Bay Area. No alerts or notices on the website though, and no outgoing voicemail message saying this. Just got lucky as he said he happened to check the VM one more time before leaving for good. After arguing with Living Social(they only wanted to only credit me my money in vouchers, which is crap since the business shut down) they finally relented after speaking with the moving company manager and agreed to refund me my money, but it won't clear for a week to ten days. Overall, if the company planned to do this, they should have updated their website, and their outgoing voicemail so people know! Also, Living Social should never have sold me the deal to begin with! Overall, a very disappointing experience, and it shows the pitfalls with services like Groupon and Living Social regarding refunds, it's not easy, and they will insist on only "store credit". read more

These guys are something else. I was going to buy a Groupon ticket. However, because of the rush job, I decided to contact them and find out if the date was available. As I didn't want to purchase the groupon and them not be able to (Landlord needs to start fixing place). I spoke to a gentleman named Thomas, who waa very kind, but kept suggesting the hourly rate instead. After discussing with the gentleman, politely, we agreed to schedule for the afternoon, and he would give me the groupon rate without me having to purchase it. Originally, I was very excited about the booking, because it seemed as if theses guys were great. Then came the BS! I get a call from them on the day of, saying the morning move has a large piano they have to move up 4 flights of stairs. So, the guys, could show up, do the three hours, then do the finish tomorrow. So, naturally I asked if there was a discount on the move rate after the groupon. As it creates an inconvenience, our plan and move was set around today. The gentleman says, no. So, I said, really!?! But ok, we have to be out and it was too late to find others. So 10 minutes later, he calls me back to tell me the manager is going to come by my place, evaluate my home and let me know if it worth doing 1/2 and 1/2 or move it to Sunday. I don't know who their manager is, but this dude is an idiot and the reason I am posting this EVERYWHERE!!! He calls me and tells me it's a 7 hour job, and will not do today, just tomorrow morning. Mind, they are only moving LARGE items, couches, beds, dressers, fridge etc, the dressers and all items are empty by the way. He tried really hard to explain, how delicate they need to be and yadda yadda yadda. Then he pulled the o'le, I've done this for four years, I know what I am talking about. Little did he know, I used to move every two to three years for work. They, would hire movers and even when they packed everything for me, and I mean they came in and did it all, it was only a six hour job. So don't tell me it's 7 hours. OH but it gets better... so I finallly, just said fine let's just do Sunday. This mf'ers cancels the entire thing because we said we wanted him to honor the groupon rate as originally scheduled. Said he won't do it, unless we do the $115 hourly rate. Which is $5 more an hour than originally quoted. Really?! This is the worst customer service ever. Now we may have to pay to wait to move. I found this company on Groupon and they were very unprofessional and misleading. First off, they have a Groupon for 3 hours for moving, two movers, for $190. I literally moved less than a half a mile away (1-bedroom) which should have taken max 4-hours. They arrived late and it took them over 6-hours to complete the job. At the end of it all, they told me I owed $650!! Which is crazy! They both didn't look surprised that I was upset and said I'm not the first customer to complain and that I needed four movers to complete the job in that amount of time. I didn't have that kind of money being that with tip I would expect it to cost at most $400. One of the guy's solution was to take a piece of my property! They took my portable AC as collateral and said that if I didn't pay the rest of the money they would sell my AC. I told them they could call the police to solve the issue and they didn't want to saying that it would take hours. They took advantage of me being a single female and I would never recommend this company to anyone. read more
