My wife…read moreand I (with the help of other family members - too many cooks complicated this LOL!) had a difficult time trying to pick from all the awesome sofas and colors that Joybird provides. Plus, we had an odd shaped room that we recently rehabbed that we needed the sofa in, and the Joybird team patiently looked at our many diagrams of possibilities, made their own suggestions and fielded our questions. I am certain I would have not been as patient with us as they were. They didn't make us feel stupid for all our questions, or rush us when we were clearly "chieftains of indecision". This was true even when we lingered a bit long at or near closing time. The jaybird team made so many accommodations and changes for us and we felt genuinely cared for us even with our idiosyncrasies. We finally finally made up our minds on the exact sofa, number of pieces and color, and now have this great new sofa in our basement movie room. Even the delivery guys were exceptional. I would encourage anyone looking for furniture to check out Joybird in chicago. For sure!!! Chris S

It was definitely worth testing them out because some of the couches are very low. We ended up liking the Hopson and Wilder and the Amelia chair. Staff member John was friendly and helpful. Lots of colorful fabrics to choose from, some designated as "pet friendly."

In honor of women's history month, I would like to shine the spot light on this very cool shop in…read morethe Pilsen neighborhood. Also, I would like to thank all of the people that have come out to support businesses in this area that were hit hard by the current political climate in Washington D.C. At the height of violence in our streets I tried to do my best by supporting some of these businesses. During this phase 18th street looked like a ghost town on a Saturday. Normally on a Saturday in this neighborhood has people teeming everywhere and the smell of an asado in the air (Yum). Having time off and having an asado is the perfect way to relax and spend time with your family. Plus, who doesn't like the smell of an asado? Well during this time period I found this shop that I thought had some really cool and unique stuff. Also, you may notice that they have a fair amount of stuff with the famous Hulu's The Bear line, "Yes Chef, No Chef" on it. If you are a fan of the show like I am, then, the interior will look familiar to you because it was in a seen on the show (I think it was season 3). I immediately recognized the store and thought to myself "cool" and great choice. Anyhow, if you find yourself in the area, pop in and check it out. They are very selective as to which artists around the country they want to buy from and in turn sell their products. Maybe you will find that one unique thing that you have been looking for that you didn't realize you need. I mean, you never know unless you check it out. My fellow Chicagoans, please go out and support your local small shops!

My mom and I could've spent the whole day there, the staff was welcoming and the store offered the most cutest items that were reasonably priced. Going through here is like going through an eccentric millionaire's mansion, or an Asian cultural center. The works of art and pieces of furniture are often on a large scale- that's be a huge centerpiece of any house. It seems that the owners get to travel the world looking for the coolest, oldest stuff from far flung reaches of the world. I'm astounded that some of this stuff is actually for sale- if you need an old dismantled temple, they've had it already broken down and shipped from exotic destinations. The store is divided up in kinda themed rooms. It's all sort of a jumble of Asian cool stuff. The staff is ready to help. I got a few questions in here and there, but for the most part the staff left me alone to browse. They offer free parking in their small little lot out front. There's a pagoda that they have right out in front. I heard that this building used to be the headquarters for the Encyclopedia Brittanica, but I can't vouch for that. The prices here are all fairly epic. But, this is the exact opposite of Ikea- everything is unique, nothing come packaged in easy to ship boxes.

Including a few truly stunning MCM wall systems, tables and coat racks. The Asian architectural pieces - pillars, wall reliefs, etc. - were so gorgeous that I wished I had some vast room or garden to place them. Some pieces are quite expensive but nothing is overpriced for what you would be getting. The salespeople are very helpful too.
