All of the concerts I've attended have been candlelit. They host them regularly and year around. Everything from the Beatles to Ella Fitzgerald Before or after the concert, look around. Our daughter recently had her wedding At Salvage One. I don't even know where to begin with this review. There was a space for the bridal party to relax, it was decorated with beautiful antiques. Great photo opportunities. Which brings me to the photographer/videographer Goodmoon Collective. We have only seen the sneak peek pictures and we are already very impressed. They went above and beyond. They both have such a joyful and positive presence. They took so many pictures and videos, and yet they were unobtrusive. The event space is absolutely beautiful. There are antiques downstairs and it was a perfect place for the wedding ceremony. The reception was upstairs with a rustic/Boho chic type vibe. The mix of various tables and chairs led to the charm of the space. There is a beautiful bar, stained glass pieces, and an elevator for those who were unable to use the stairs. There was plenty of room on the dance floor and the DJ did a great job! The food was phenomenal, and the service was great. The servers were always nearby to help with anything we needed. The wedding planner; Grace, was so calm and helpful, and made sure the day went off flawlessly. This is an absolutely beautiful venue for a wedding! Highly recommend! read more

First I hate writing poor reviews. I tried to avoid but I felt the price was a ripoff and the candlelight concert experience wasn't great. Ads were misleading by Fever Entertainment. I would NOT recommend this Candlelight: The Best of Bollywood and Tollywood on Strings. It's NOT worth the price. THIS CONCERT WAS OVERPRICED. The venue and sound quality were quite poor. They need to increase the volume of sound. it was low and sleepy. Fever's advertisements are misleading, and many reviews on their site seem fake. I expected so many candles all over the venue and a starry romantic environment. This venue didn't look like the advertisement at all. I was expecting a beautiful romantic mansion or theater that they show in advertising. Salvage One store is nice but it is NOT meant for a concert. I couldn't even see the artists play from my view. The artists made an effort, but there's significant room for improvement in their skills. The songs were NOT well executed.. I found myself feeling bored and sleepy, even though the list of songs included many of my favorites. My intention is not to discourage them; I believe they can enhance their performance with practice. I've attended many local concerts, and I've seen way better artists who are far more talented. Additionally, I wouldn't pay more than $10 for this experience. Fever needs to improve the venue and sound quality to justify their High-Ticket-Prices. They should also stop misleading their audience. The candlelight concert concept is good but there is lot of scope for improvement for better talents, choice of venues, and sound quality. read more

Love love love! First time at this venue. I thought it was a performance space but discovered it is a furniture store as well. The space looked amazing as we entered the first floor. I was immediately drawn to some Roman columns and two large elephants after checking in and that was just in my immediate view. The space has a cool, funky vibe to it and I could easily see myself just hanging out and having a conversation and drink. My BFF and I were there to attend an outdoor concert featuring the music of Vivaldi and movie music. It was a little on the chilly side, but the music was hot as well as the toddies being served. First major props to Salvage One on their COVID protocol. They not only have the social distancing down, but had hand sanitizer, questionaries' that you had to sign/date and they were taking your temperature. The staff working the event were very nice and pleasant and there was plenty of street parking. The space outside was set up to allow for parties of 2, 3 and 4 to sit together. It is as advertised, a candlelight event, but the candles are flameless. The venue itself was quite beautiful and romantic. There was an outdoor bar for drinks and snacks...ticket have to be purchased on the Fever app in order to pay for items. They do not do cash or credit cards for purchases. Prices were pretty reasonable. The Metropolis String Quartet were the performers and I must say that they were pretty amazing, especially considering that they were playing outside in the chilly night air. The program was pretty eclectic, from Eine kleine Nachtmusik, Vivaldi's Summer (adore!), Bach's Double Violin Concerto (first two movements...amazing!) as well as the Beatles and Over the Rainbow (arrangement by Israel Kamakawiwoole). Overall a very engaging and lively performance, but my favorite piece of the entire night was their arrangement of the tango Por una Cabeza (from Scent of a Woman/True Lies if you are not up on your tango selections). That one made me want to get up and do the tango! The entire performance was well organized and the sound was on point. My only complaint is that I discovered this series too late in terms of the weather and being able to sit outside, but there are more indoor performances being planned. I will definitely be on the look out for more performances in the future and would definitely come to this space to see them. read more

It's wild to look back and "review" Salvage One because it has become so synonymous with our wedding day. Salvage One was the first venue my fiance and I looked at and we fell in love with the space immediately. The ceremony space and the disco ball in particular stole our hearts. On the day of, our guests had so much fun guessing the prices of pieces of furniture, playing foosball, and dancing under the disco ball. In addition to the whimsy of the space, their team is incredible. From the very first tour of the space, to answering random emails with spur of the moment questions, to intentionally creating a floor plan based on who we wanted closest to us day of - the Salvage One team, and specifically Colleen, ensured we were well taken care of. The space covers three floors - with the second floor being used to host events - the other two floors are filled with quirky finds for sprucing up or decorating your home. It's an amazing space to wander around. They feature holiday mixed drink specials that are delightful. Okay, I've been to Salvage One like 3 or 4 times now. I've been for concerts on their upper floor, and not really for the antiques. But the antiques are seriously cool. From art to furniture to knick knacks to bars and pool tables, this place has any number of cool items for you to buy. But let's talk about the concerts. On the second floor, they set up live music shows with a limit of about 100 people. There are various couches and chairs scattered about for you and your friends to sit on. And a bar at the back with a reasonable selection of wines, beers and drinks to choose from. Don't expect anything epic, but it's not a bad selection. Tickets are reasonably priced and the staff is cool and laid back. I have been to many, many venues in my day, small and large. This is definitely one fo the best. read more

If you would like some really cool furnishings for your house or apartment, you've come to the right place, It's like an enjoyable walk back in time that you can take home with you. If you need a 3 foot high red letter, it's only $325.00, but a 8 foot hight red letter will set you back $800.00 Who dosen't need 2 10' high wood carved elephants for their entranceway? It would be nice too know the history of some of the items they have for sale. Eclectic doesn't describe this place, even If it's the first word that comes to mind. Unique should fit the place, but won't describe it to the fullest either. Distinctive? You bet. Idiosyncratic? I said so. Rare? I don't think there's anything like it. Uncommon? Yes. This is one of a kind. Oh heck, I give up. There's no way to describe this place with one word. It is all of the above and more.  I attended a few events here in the past, allways in the evening, during the cold weather season, and my visits were limited to the event' floor. This time when I found myself across the street, during the day, at another venue, I decided to check it out. The place consists of 3 floors and a courtyard, filled with antiques and vintage items. Many of them from demolished buildings and businesses. It's like walking into a graveyard of defunct businesses. Yes, this is a salvage company, and everything is for sale: from vintages dining sets to antique door knobs and hardware that may be missing on that old house you just moved into. Or maybe you just want an art piece to contrast one of your contemporary decorated rooms. You could find all of this and more at this place, and the  inventory changes constantly; but it's also an event venue. Whether it's a business or personal event, it can be hosted here, but it is the weddings that are the talk of the town. Everyone's wedding is special and unique, but at this place, even the venue could be one of a kind; you could rent a floor, the courtyard or both; then, decorate it with antiques and vintage items of your choice from the existing inventory: from an eclectic group of dining tables and chairs for the guests, to 12' or 15' tall ionic columns. Maybe you prefer 6' to 8' tall elephant wood sculptures or life-sized Renaissance, bronze women's sculptures. All with vintage chandeliers and glass stained windows hanging from the ceiling to filter colorful light for that special day. You could even bring a priest to conduct the ceremony at this place; during my visit, they had enough church pews to accommodate a good number of guests. I was assisting relatives get rid of some pieces from the 1960s, including dining tables, side tables, coffee table, etc. I was so glad I found Salvage One. I really wanted the pieces to go to a good home because they are still nice after 60 years. They offered me fair prices for my items. I had seamless communication via email with Charlie. We scheduled a pickup and the rest is history. Upon Charlie and his associate's arrival, everything went smoothly, from payment to moving items. I had a few other items laying around that I didn't not want and Salvage One could use. I simply gave those to them too. I definitely recommend this company and would use in the future. read more

I went here for a wedding and it was such a unique and cool venue. It's definitely not the aesthetic for everyone, but the couple getting married are very thrifty and eclectic, so it was perfect for them. The ceremony was downstairs and the reception was upstairs. The only issue with the downstairs space was that there are posts that block the view of the altar for some of the seats. There were a lot of cool things to check out in the downstairs area during the cocktail hour. The upstairs area was perfect for the reception. The big dance floor was the highlight for us. The decor, tables, chairs, etc. gave a fancy look, while still being comfortable and fun. There closest bars for after-party drinks are about 3-4 blocks away at Fulton Market. It's a pretty close drive, or about 20 min walk, to West Loop. read more

Okay listen up future potential gentlemen suitors, this is where I want my wedding. Well here or somewhere equally random & incredible. :P I went to a wedding here on Sunday night and it was such a dreamy venue for the event. By day it's an antique shop. And I'm not talking oh let me find a cheap find, garage sale style antique shop. I'm talking huge stone pillars for 25K antiques. Mind you, you get two of the giant pillars for this price but still ever so slightly rich for my blood. The shop is full of fabulous items but just know you're going to be digging deep into your pockets for them. Or maybe you live a bit better than me and it will be but a fingernail for you to purchase items here whereas it's an arm & a leg for me. Now with all of these marvelous pieces on the main level, it sure made for some unique photos with my friends. I had one behind a candelabra, my friend's boyfriend played an old timey piano as she leaned over with adoration, we pulled the cord for an old school elevator, sat on a bean bag chair in a room of white objects and made a happy home in a carving of a half of a room. I've added some for your viewing pleasure. Aside from all the spectacular objects around, this was just a great wedding with a unique twist. They started with a cocktail hour at 5 followed by the ceremony on the main level among all the antiques at 6. Sitting with drink in hand on the pews during the ceremony made many of us wedding goers beyond happy. Definitely my ideal and I'm going to steal that for my possible one day down the road with mystery man nuptials. Following the ceremony and a bit more cocktailing/appetizing (beef wellington was the bomb yo), we all moseyed on upstairs to be greeted by another lovely space. It was huge yet inviting with an eclectic feel. Every table was a different size with different chairs and it was not assigned seating (thank goodness!). Big dance floor with an elevated stage area plus a slightly elevated VIP type of section which was perfect for more photo ops. My friend getting married was telling me you have to use their vendors for the space but the food was delish and the staff was lovely & accommodating so I don't see that as being any type of issue. If you're going here for a wedding or other event, you're in for a treat. If you're thinking about having your wedding here, you must! Just don't steal my day, please! read more

My husband and I had the pleasure of visiting Salvage One for a wedding. Salvage One is a stunning urban venue located in Chicago. This unassuming space has a warehouse/loft style feel. It also doubles as an antique shop by day selling quaint one-of-a-kind furniture and art. Not only were the collections for sale, but they were also on display throughout the entire area; giving the venue a uniquely hip and modern vibe. In fact, so many beautiful and eclectic pieces were on display at every corner that one couldn't resist snapping pics. The indoor ceremony was held on the main floor and upon entry, guests were served a glass of wine and actual church pews served as seats for the guests. I mean how cool is that? An arrangement of several glass chandeliers and stained glass windows served as the backdrop for the ceremony and when placed together, the altar looked absolutely gorgeous! The reception on the second floor was large enough to hold 200 people; leaving plenty of space to spare for dancing. In fact, table games like shuffleboard and foosball were off to the side for additional fun and entertainment. The food was delicious and amazing. We had the short rib with mixed veggies and polenta. OMG! I've never had short ribs that were so meaty, flavorful and tender! The meal in addition to the cool venue made our night. Overall, my husband and I enjoyed our time there and we're happy to have the opportunity to visit Salvage One. If you ever get the chance to go, I would highly recommend visiting. read more

One of the coolest spots in Chicago with amazing vintage and antique pieces! Truly unique and captivating environment. If you know, you know. This is a popular wedding venue spot, and for good reason. I had heard of Salvage One for years, and I FINALLY made my way there in the fall of 2020 to take pictures of my brother and his fiancé. When we arrived they were already getting set up for a wedding that was going to begin after closing. Salvage One is a photographer's dream (and an Instagrammer's dream). Every corner you turn is a "photo op." We explored all the floors, as well as the beautiful backyard that has the iconic Chicago sign that you've probably seen in pictures before. Was here for a Yelp event (because I would've never thought to come here on my own). What an unbelievably eclectic assortment of worthless junk and 'priceless' artifacts.....it's like Indiana Jones meets the TV show Hoarders. The spiffiest items (at least that I saw) included: *A set of two Oriental dragon statues that one might find guarding the entrance to a P.F. Chang's, priced at $1,600. Each. *The front half of a car, the engine compartment loaded with dusty old LP albums. *A Thwomp! As in, the big stone crushing block from the 'Super Mario' franchise. I was so excited to see this unusual piece of video game memorabilia I think I peed a little. Apart from that, there were countless bronze statues (a very cool Lady Justice costing eight grand) and nice little seating niches that made the large floorspace seem much smaller and cozier. It's hard to describe to someone apart from just saying "there's shit EVERYWHERE", in all nooks and crannies. A totally bizarre and eccentric place; it's an artsy hipsters' paradise. While I'm neither artsy, nor a hipster, I liked this place a lot. From the outside, this building gives off a semi-rapey-vibe, but if I ever sought some unusual decor for my apartment, Salvage One would be the first place I'd look. read more

I attended a wedding in 2014 at Salvage One and knew, if I got married, I'd want to get married there. Fortunately, my wife agreed, and it was no contest between the scant few options we considered before settling on S1! The entire staff of this place is absolutely a dream, with special accolades to Kelly and Colleen--they're always on the ball, ready to answer emails whenever, and have the best attitude when it comes to planning things. They went above and beyond in helping us finalize our seating arrangements, even garnering us an extra table. Beyond that, S1 let us keep our decor overnight and was incredibly accommodating to all of our special needs guests on the day. We couldn't have asked for anything more to make us and our guests feel like we were at home during our wedding. My wife and I love Salvage One, because they gave us the gift of a perfect wedding day. What else is there to say? Best wedding venue in Chicagoland, hands down! read more

What a cool, gloomy, funky, eclectic, place to spend an afternoon! And if you are looking for beautiful salvaged stained glass here is the place. Prices are a little dear, but I think there might be some movement if one asks nicely. I have been to vintage/antique stores in most of the continental U.S. and Europe and Salvage One is definitely worth talking about. I can only imagine what a great wedding, party venue this would be! Especially if you are looking to have the event of your dreams on a bit of a budget. Spend your money on flowers, and food and save on location. Forget random English manors, step into Salvage One to go through the looking glass. Each venture into this west side (2) story is its own journey into discovery. I don't have a design bone within my body, so I only know Salvage One as an event space. It foots the bill and then some. Do you want a groovy '60s mod scene? Salvage One has a room for that. Are you classy and refined? Salvage One has a room for that. Are you sterile, cold and '50s-era emotionally distant? Salvage One has a room for that and it's sort of cool. Basically, with every step, twist and turn of the head, Salvage One transports you to a different era. The transitions are as seamless as they are varied. The exposed brick and high ceilings have the familiarity of an industrial loft (duh) but the eclectic decor and whimsical personality of the pieces evokes a museum-like experience that, at once, captivates and enraptures. Most events are held in the large space on the 2nd floor -- and why not? The wall-length of windows, raised stage and magnificent bar are perfect for entertaining. But, if you're nosy like Alice (and you are tromping through Wonderland, after all), duck into some of the side rooms and marvel at grand chandeliers, mysterious mirrors, terrific tables, and odd seats (both hard and upholstered). One day, when I am a kept man and go on [redacted] tours of far-off lands, I will stop into Salvage One to furnish my many abodes. What do awesome girls do when their S.O. (Significant Others) go golfing? They go antique shopping. I mean, we could have gone golfing. I am an AMAZING golf cart driver, but I am a better shopper. So, when my hubby and my friend Leah's man went golfing, we went antiquing. I am struggling a little bit with the nomenclature of this adventure. "Antiquing" feels shabby chic to me and "vintage" feels like shopping at Don Draper's house. I am going to settle on vintage. The Salvage One associates were preparing for an event that afternoon, so they were a little distracted when we walked in. Their weddings are allegedly beautiful and different. Many online reviewers give high marks to the service they get from their Salvage One event planner. As Leah and I were walking around, we saw several areas that could be made into an aisle or alter for a wedding and plenty of other space that could be used for a photo shoot or a cocktail party. At Salvage One, I seemed to want everything. Random bar carts, lamps, and every black leather chair, I debated buying. There were also ski-ball machines, church pews, and huge in-tact wooden bars. Many of their refurbished items and larger furniture pieces, I would describe as "loft-suitable". When we went upstairs to the third floor, there was absolutely no one up there and that is, of course, when we ran into the Horror Movie Doors. I ended up buying a giant letter 'G' because it was red and awesome. When checking out, they told me about their frequent guest program that is the most generous program I have ever heard of (your percentage off increases dramatically each time you come back). I am a huge fan of discounts. All in, you should definitely come here. read more

UNIQUE EVENTS I use to come here all of the time and look at the cool architectural pieces and think I need that. I remember over 15 years ago I was going to buy a giant column from a ancient church in Europe, that was for sale here. Where was I going to put it? Not a clue. How was I going to get it home? No idea. I knew it was not fitting in my vehicle. But I was smart enough to walk away. I use to come back at least once a month to see all of the interesting stuff. Honestly everything here was so cool but really did I need it. Somewhere down the line people started having events here and why not. It is truly unique. The first floor has two old bars that can be used as bars at your wedding. There is even a full chapel set up with pews. Oh and those bars are right next to that area. It's time to have the best vows ever while enjoying an adult cocktail. The second floor has tables and chairs that are all miss matched. It makes for some really interesting photos of your guests. There is also an area up here which is perfect to place your band or DJ. And lets not forget about the three wooden bars up here. Yeah there's a party on every floor. Recently I attended the Goose Island launch of there new 312 Urban Pale Ale. Imagine this place packed full of craft brew loving Chicagoans. Yeah it was a real party. The first floor had a bar exclusively handing out tall boys of the new 312. The second floor had two bars pouring different brews from Goose Island along with the new beer. Everyone was really happy. How can you not be happy? You're in a cool venue with free local beer! Life doesn't get any better then this. So if your looking to have your wedding here then this is the place. I read that fellow Yelper Sarah is going to have her future wedding bash here. I know it will be totally a 5 star Yelp party. The ultimate bash is coming April 3, 2014. Yelpers are going to take this place over and say goodbye to Chiberia. There are going to be great vendors serving food and drink. It is about time to get this summer party started. I think I am going to cry. What happened to my beloved Salvage One that used to be on the south side and was level after level of treasures to be uncovered? This new, "fancy" version left me cold the other day as I hunted for a backplate and some doorknobs for a couple of my antique doors. The old place was like a mystery. Each floor dedicated to literally piles of things. Toilets and clawfoot tubs on one floor with doors and stained glass windows on another. Oh sure- there was a small section in the front of the store where they had taken a few items, "cleaned them up" and quadrupled the price. But no old house owner ever bought from there as you could do that at a fraction of the price for yourself. Now the whole store is like this. Clean, newish looking, and refurbished. I kept wondering if what I was looking for would be just behind the next door. But alas- it wasn't. And what's worse? I hear you can have your social function in this new space. I couldn't even imagine wearing anything but my "dungy-est" jeans at the old place. Now it's more like walking in a furniture store. When you have an old house like I do- it always needs a little something- a door knob falls off, a kick plate goes missing, a wall sconce needs a partner. The old Salvage One could always be counted on to find those little things hidden in a corner, in a shoebox of miscellaneous parts. As for this new place? Paying $100 for a set of glass doorknobs will make me think twice about replacing them when the set screw fails. Thank heaven I have my own little Salvage One going on in my work room as I have collected a series of "spare parts" from all the old houses I've lived in over the years. I love that old things are re-purposed to live a new life again- sometimes in an entirely new incarnation. But I hate that I've lost yet another place to search and find that unique thing I was looking for from another generation. After all- sometimes the hunt is half the fun. Dogs 2 ran fast and came up to my parents and I barking and startled us. My dad said to 2 people working there my wife has been bitten by a dog before. My mom ran out of store frightened by dogs running and barking towards us. The people said we can lock up the dogs while u shop my dad said bye and we all 3 left. My mom is ok with dogs if the dogs are nice and don't come charging up towards us. Have a warning sign about dogs or leave dogs at home. read more

The shoe rack IS mine- ALL MINE! It is also happily overflowing with shoes. It is so beautiful, it makes me weep. The service was impeccable too- Colin was a sweetheart holding it for me, Alfredo and Linda helped make sure the rack was secured to the car (frankly I can't even work zippers well, I'd hate to be the car driving behind anything I had "tied" down- fortunately professionals made sure all of Chicago is safe from my reckless lack of secure knots). Above and beyond for one customer? Imagine how they handle events! I may rent out the space when I marry my shoe rack. read more
