I loved this store and felt like I could have looked through the books and crannies for hours. I walked away with one small treasure: the cutest vintage ring with a pave heart on a dangle! It's so unique and adorable. I can't wait to go back and search for more treasures! read more

Lazy Dog Antique Store - Found the cutest vintage ring here - Antiques Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Unique and vast selection of curated antique pieces! I was in the market for some vintage rings and they had a great section. They had 2 boxes of $25 rings plus others that were more expensive. I was able to ask questions and try as many as I felt like trying without feeling annoying. I could spend hours looking at the artwork in that store. Beautiful spot. Don't miss the basement that has even more cool things! read more

My wife and I stumbled across Lazy Dog when we went to Kuma's for lunch. We had some time to kill, so we stopped in. Really glad we did. First, we got a really close parking space on the side street in the east side of the store. Upon walking in, we were warmly greeted by the woman working there. She also told us about a couple of other close by antique shops to check out. I liked that. This place is quaint, and filled with an eclectic mix of items. Now we didn't have a lot of extra time to explore. What we did see though was intriguing enough for us to come back. Before we left, my wife did pick up some skeleton keys, at a pretty decent price. Go ahead. If you're in the neighborhood, stop in. read more

Beautiful antique store which is marked down in my head as the real deal when it comes to Art Deco and the 30's, 40's, 50's, items and furniture. Great little shop that has so very much to offer anyone that has any pique of interest in this field. Would have to say. As an avid collector of Art Deco and early 20th century furniture and it's beauty. This place takes the stake at number one in Chicago for the collection #1 and #2 the prices are very very reasonable and they will negotiate with one as well. read more

I was as happy here with the quality and uniqueness of the stuff as I was with the boss's willingness to deal. First class. I was not so happy with the place not opening at Noon, as advertised. It was raining, and there were no signs of life. I only noticed a light flipping on perhaps a half hour or so later, as I was heading back to my hood on the bus. So, I got off and returned. But I guess it lives up to its name. read more

This place is like an Ebay wet dream! Get the best deal with out the bid time and shipping costs. Yes friends and neighbors, step right up and rub the belly of the Lazy Dog where yesteryear's treasures await to appear before you for at a reasonable price. For instance, the two 1920's brass desk top lamps with beautiful tulip shaped frosted glass shades that encase the light bulbs that provides a ghostly glow of the early 20th century( on my antique desk) purchased last fall. And my 1930's LC Smith metal 30 pound type writer that I purchased this spring. read more

Wonderful store. Very nice ladies run the shop. Amy was great the first time I went in to browse. No pressure. She has a lovely attitude. I returned and met the very nice and personable owner, Lisa. I enjoyed seeing all that they had for sale. Some gorgeous vintage jewelry and impressive antiques and collectibles that were quite eye-catching. Unique store and I was made to feel very comfortable when there. Also, had a nice conversation with Lisa. It is such a good feeling to be able to browse without pressure. Even if I could not buy something then, I may very well buy something the next time, and as you can see, I'm writing a Yelp review. This is a cool place to stop and shop for quality antiques and collectibles. I will be back. Please Note: If you would like to meet with the owner to sell something, then be sure to call ahead for an appointment, otherwise no appointment needed. read more

I have heard so many good things about this store, I am thrilled I finally got to visit. My friend and I came while checking out antique store in the area. This antique store offers a wide assortment of furniture, signs, and jewelery, both costume and real. There are two floors to the antique store (main level and basement) and everything was pretty well organized and well kept - items were not just placed anywhere, or haphazardly. Service was very friendly, and they seemed very knowledgeable about what they had, and dedicated to the field of antiques. read more

This is my favorite place to go for antiques. They have a wonderful selection from furniture to jewelry. I always leave there smiling and happy with whatever I walk out with. The people working there are so nice and helpful in finding that perfect match for what I need for my home. I would give the lazy dog 6stars if it would let me because I am never disappointed when leaving the store. I have gotten so many things from lamps, door hardware, old jewelry, phones, to the most unusual and rare knickknacks. They all have worked and was in beautiful condition. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for that perfect touch of elegance to go in your home or for yourself. :) read more

This is a first rate store....they have a really nice diverse selection, and some of the most beautiful pieces of furniture I have ever seen. They have a European Art Deco bedroom set right now that is absolutely spectacular. GO! You won't be disappointed. read more

This is a great antique store. Maybe one of the best in the city. And I've been to tons of antique stores and believe me there's a lot of junk out there with hardly no turnover, but not this one. They have lots of unique items with prices that are appropriately priced and justified and there's always something new to look at when go in. They have a lot of diverse items spanning generations. If you like antiques this a must-visit for the city. read more

Christine, owner Lisa's sister was so helpful and knowledgeable. Love the store with beautiful choices. Highly recommended.

OK, I went to the LDA yesterday again, and Holy cow did I get the deals! They had 40% off in the basement, which has a whole counter of old and beautiful lamps - some with the shades and some without the shades. I picked out a traditional pair of crystal lamps, and got the pair for $165!!!! They are in mint condition, and all the crystals were still intact, and they work perfectly. I also found a gold gilt mirror for my hallway, that I have been looking for over a year, and fully expected to spend $600. I got lucky at the Lazy dog, because I found THE PERFECT Mirror for $225!!!!! I am elated! Lisa (The owner of the LDA with her husband Rudy) was so nice in helping me pick out my mirror, because they had a huge selection, and when I described my decor & what I wanted, she was so helpful! She even gave me a little discount on a gorgeous enameled French Art Deco bracelet that I fell in love with! Next time I go, I will be on the hunt for a new (but vintage) dresser! And I hope that Lisa and Rudy will be as helpful as they have been every single time I have been there! LOVE THIS STORE!!!!! read more

Last Thursday I poked into Lazy Dog Antiques on Belmont with a girlfriend of mine. We strolled around, opening up map drawers, stared at sparkly jewelry, awed over a killer display of alarm clocks en masse and I even bought a wooden display cabinet for a more $38 bucks! I will be back on Belmont to satisfy my vintage taste and I surely will be stopping into Lazy Dog Antiques again! read more

This place is so cute! I found some vintage photos of Chicago that I bought along with a beautiful ring. I work in the area and love to stop in to check out what new things they have. And they had cookies for sample yum!! read more

Wonderful experience at the Lazy Dog. A dream shop full of antiques, amazing furniture and a vintage jewelry selection like I have never seen. Place was exceptionally clean and organized. Bought a chair the minute I walked in and came back to buy nesting tables that I couldn't be without. Owners were friendly and helpful, was able to browse without any pressure and prices were very reasonable. I will definitely be back! read more

I always check out Lazy Dog Antiques when I am looking for another piece of furniture. I bought a beautiful dresser and a vintage table. Their prices are very reasonable and the owners are very friendly. Buy antiques they hold their value. Buying new furniture usually loses value. read more

I always enjoy perusing items at antique shops, and have been to quite a few in the Midwest. What I really enjoy about The Lazy Dog is the variety of items and the bonus basement area to explore. The owner was very friendly and helpful. When I told her the item I was purchasing was a gift, she went the extra mile and found a small gift box that she placed my gift in. I appreciated that very much. I enjoyed my whole experience antique shopping at The Lazy Dog. I will certainly be coming back. read more

My mom and I go antiquing all over the country and Lazy Dog is up there with one of the best shops I've ever been to. Their inventory is organized nicely and some of the items they get are really amazing. You can tell the owners Lisa and Rudy really know what they're talking about and they're knowledgeable about the items they're selling. The price points vary widely too, so you can get something for under $20 or over $2000, it just depends on what you're looking for. I just snagged a pair of 1920s English leather tufted club chairs from them and they're the coolest pieces I've ever seen. They're going to be such a conversation piece in my home, and I'm thrilled to own a part of history. You can't miss Lazy Dog! read more

Very cool place and their selection is great. The prices are great and the staff was very friendly and even helped pack up a "birdcage" to ship to California. Very very cool place. Nice selection. I found some cool Art Deco stuff that was perfect. And this was after seeing two other antique stores that their prices were much higher. Will go back from time to time because they said the inventory turns over all the time. Thank you. read more

Who doesn't love a good antique store. Even if you don't want to buy anything, this is a great store to browse though. A lot of interesting items and you never know when you might find a one of a kind piece of jewelry or furniture. The only thing that was a bit of a turn off is we got there about 15 minutes prior to close, they made sure to tell us that they were closing soon as if we had to hurry and leave. I would still go back if in the neighborhood though. read more

Overpriced. Owners seemed nice but we're chatting on the phone and with friends instead of ringing of waiting customer.

Great antique store! I've bought a few furniture pieces here and have been very pleased. Wonderful store and will be going back.

I was in the Lazy Dog store last weekend, and found some really cool old tools, including a tool box with the original lock and key, and a really nice anvil, a hammer (much better than it sounds) I also found a retro bar that I am going to put on my back porch when it gets nicer out. I had a great time digging around the store & the two owners were very helpful. read more

I'm always looking for a new vintage piece of jewelry or a unique antique for our home; this store is fully stocked, and has the best of both! The owners are knowledgeable and personable, and their selection is great. It reminded me of a smaller Randolph Street Antique Market...lots to choose from. I found a vintage necklace from the 30's - it's a great place to find something for yourself, or a gift for someone else. Will certainly be going back! read more

This is by far the best antique store in Chicago. I make a point of dropping in as often as possible because they so frequently get new stock of intriguing, and unusual items. Apart from the wonderful variety, the prices are amazing. I love the fact they don't try and rip people off, but price things so that I can indulge in fabulous items that make me extremely happy. My star buy, amongst many great bargains, was a Victorian child's high chair. Exquisite and in perfect condition - $60, less 20% in one of their many sales. Incredible! I regularly see things at Lazy Dog at a fraction of the price I see them elsewhere. And Lisa is total a delight. She takes such a genuine interest in what I'm looking for. She makes shopping there a real pleasure. As long as Lazy Dog Antiques continues to sell such a wonderful variety of items at fantastically affordable prices, I will be a regular customer. I LOVE Lazy Dog! Heather read more

I went in there yesterday hunting for a simple yet sophisticated necklace to wear to a wedding. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with a warm welcome. The woman behind the counter was extremely friendly and exceedingly patient with my indecision (I pretty much asked to try on EVERY necklace in the jewelry case). The owner even went out of her way to help me find the perfect chain to pair with my locket pendant. They were both incredibly knowledgeable about their merchandise as well! All in all, I was very pleased with their demeanor and expertise and I would definitely recommend going here for any vintage furniture/ jewelry needs. Thanks again ladies! read more
