The staff I interacted with were very kind and pleasant given it was a busy weekend. Prices aren't terrible, but everything is expensive these days. Nowhere else in the store does it tell you no returns until you've actually bought the item and then you can see it on the receipt. So helpful... If you wanna look like you've been to China with a bunch of Chinese stuff made in China, this is the place. They do have things relating to Chicago, but a lot of the stuff is just Chinese stuff that'll sit around your house gathering dust. Think lots of little statues, vases, cups, bowls. I feel like a bull in a China shop in here- all the aisles and merchandise is so jammed close together, that every time I turn around, I feel like I'm going to break some fragile jade egg or some bamboo vase. It's a shop in a nice location- it's sort of in the souvenir district of Chinatown- there's a few cool other similar shops on the same street, right in front of the Chinese archway that leads you into Chinatown.

They sell calligraphy pens but I wasn't able to write this, though I tried for a full 5 minutes. The staff is helpful, and patient. There's quite a bit of stuff crammed into a small space, and it ranges from the very cheap (and looks very cheap) the to the inexpensive (and doesn't look cheap) souvenirs to nice decorations. It's too tight with too many fragile items to bring in younger children (unless they are very well behaved) but there are lots of toys to give to children as gifts. Not surprisingly it's all made in China, including the Japanese sake serving sets which are quite a bit cheaper than you would find elsewhere. It's really fun to shop here, and you can't leave Chinatown with out some sort of souvenir, right?

We were only in Chicago for 3 days and we managed to come to Alice & Wonder twice…read more Before our trip my friend Heidi had been sending us Tiktoks about going to Alice & Wonder to get our souvenir hat, you actually pick a hat of your choice and add some cute little patches, so I was really excited even though I cannot wear hats, my head size does not allow for it unfortunately. But I was able to get a couple of patches that I'm going to patch on to my book tote. The team here was super sweet, they make sure you like the placement of the patches before pressing them on, my friends made some really cute hats that I'll have to get photos. I ended up getting a hotdog patch that said Chicago and a spicy patch, a pair of socks and magnet, they give you cute little tote bags so you can shop throughout the city and add more to it. Really good value I think, they did say I can press it onto my beret at home instead so I might do that with one of the patches. Definitely a must check out, this location was a 10 minute walk from our hotel but there are a couple of other locations as well.
