From the extensive preparation before the work began to the beautiful finished product, this experience deserves a well-earned five-star review. One of the most impressive aspects of this entire project was the extraordinary attention given to preparing and protecting my home before the actual refinishing work even started. This is something I believe deserves special recognition because it demonstrates the importance of professionalism, organization, and respect for a customer's property. As my photographs clearly show, considerable effort went into protecting the surrounding areas. Protective coverings were carefully laid across the floors and walking areas, equipment was positioned on protected surfaces, and the bathroom was thoroughly masked with plastic sheeting and tape to isolate the work area. A large ventilation duct was also installed and routed through a window to help direct air and fumes outside during the refinishing process. Seeing this level of preparation gave me confidence in the care being taken with the project. It was evident that the work involved much more than simply applying a new finish to a bathtub. Proper preparation, protection of the surrounding environment, and attention to the smallest details were all important parts of the process. Now, regarding the bathtub itself, the transformation was absolutely remarkable! Before the refinishing, my bathtub had a worn and unattractive appearance, with visible deterioration around the drain area and other imperfections that made it look old and neglected. I wanted to restore its appearance without having to go through the inconvenience and expense of completely replacing it. The finished results exceeded my expectations. The bathtub now has a beautiful, bright white appearance with a smooth, glossy finish that makes it look practically brand-new. The difference between its previous condition and its restored appearance is truly incredible. Looking at the before-and-after photographs, it is almost difficult to believe that this is the same bathtub. What makes this experience particularly noteworthy is that the impressive final appearance was accompanied by such careful preparation beforehand. Beautiful results are important, but the professionalism demonstrated throughout the process is equally deserving of recognition. Extended Review: I was you - I didn't have anyone who knew a floor installer for hardwood, and I was trying to google-fu my way into finding one. I stumble across Ciprian, see the 5.0 google rating at 360+ reviews, and think either "this guy must be amazing" or "he's got a great review bot setup." Turns out he's just that good. I sent him an email about wanting to add hardwood flooring to two bedrooms in my Chicago condo, ideally matching the existing hardwood flooring throughout other areas of the home. He responded within the day with a rough estimate, and within 3 days made a visit to take measurements and produced a precise estimate that night, along with a diagram of what wood species my floor was and what he recommended. The next day, we had the install scheduled for 3 weeks later. He set expectations upfront that the color wouldn't be a perfect match since it wouldn't be the exact same wood, exact same stain, and all the flooring wouldn't be installed at the exact same time. Ciprian delivered the flooring a couple days after that. I didn't know this, but apparently it's best to have the wood acclimate to where it gets installed prior to being installed (for expansion / contracting based on temp / moisture). Ciprian knows this, because Ciprian knows wood. On the first day of the install, him and his partner had the carpet removed hardwood slinging immediately while also replacing some old base plywood boards free of charge; they finished installing the boards in both rooms that first day. oved When it was time to stain, he wanted me there to approve it - he mixed 5 different stains and placed them throughout the rooms to compare lighting with the existing boards. He then went back and forth tweaking the best stain making it darker/lighter until he got the perfect match - it was a point of personal pride to try and match it as close as possible. Ciprian is professional, punctual, responsive, diligent, efficient, and passionate about his wood species (which is a massive green flag for the guy installing your hardwood) and most importantly about the quality of work he provides. He and his team finished a day early, matched the new floor's stain against the current floors perfectly, and left me with a new standard for contractors that's going to be really hard to measure up against. If you made it this far, you can take the final step and shoot an email to Ciprian for whatever project you have because you've found your guy - he is him.
