NW Sammie - Wild caught alaskan smoked salmon, dill cream cheese, pickled onion, & capers
Fionna L.

Impeccable spot for crepes in downtown Bellingham! Counter service was fast and they have plenty of seating inside with a bathroom in the back. Most importantly, the crepes were delicious and perfectly made, with ingredients that tasted fresh and high quality. If you're craving both sweet and salty, I recommend splitting these orders: - NW Sammie ($18.99): Wild caught Alaskan smoked salmon, dill cream cheese, pickled onion, & capers - the salmon was flavorful and well balanced. - Banana crème pie ($13.99): Sliced bananas with chocolate chips, banana cream topped with chocolate sauce & graham crackers - rich and decadent, perhaps a bit too sweet if you were eating it all by yourself but it hit the spot! I like how their menu gave many tried and true flavor combinations a creative twist. They can even make the crepes gluten-free for $2.50 extra! There is ample parking in the front lots that is metered during most business hours. The next time I return may be to try their notorious crepe eating challenge (26 crepes, 2 people, 1 hour)!

Savory harvest moon crepe with squash, sweet potato, arugula and onion with rosemary

Just go--it's great. We love sitting outside. It's always great here: service, coffee, crepes.

Delicious for sure. Lots of great flavors for sweet and savory lovers, easily enough food for leftovers but I rarely allow it to be left over for more than a few hours.

Harvest Moon vegetarian savoury crepe

I love a good creperie, and my timing in Bellingham was just right for a visit to AB Crepes. Craving both sweet and savory, we did what we do best--ordered one of each to share. We chose the Harvest Moon (one of the two vegetarian savory options) and a sweet Banana Cream Pie, paired with a POG Mimosa. Hands down, the Banana Cream Pie stole the show. The graham crackers added a delightful crunch, the sliced banana was fresh and sweet, and the cream had a cheesecake-like richness that was absolutely delicious. As for the Harvest Moon, I wanted to love it, but something felt off for me. Maybe it was the strong squash and onion flavor, the balsamic reduction, or the fact that I paired it with a sweet crepe--it just didn't quite hit the mark. That said, their menu is indulgent and full of tempting options, so I'd happily give it another go if I'm ever in downtown Bellingham. The place had a steady stream of customers, which speaks to its popularity. Service was excellent; the staff were super friendly, there's a water station, and they're open late! There's also plenty of seating inside, making it a cozy spot to enjoy your food. AB Crepes is definitely worth a visit--especially for their sweet creations!

They have outdoor seating right in front to the restaurant, and as it was a lovely evening, we took advantage of that. The person taking our order was very friendly, and helpful. When my husband asked to skip the cheese on his Southwestern, the guy asked if he'd like hummus instead. So they're quite flexible in how they make these. I wish I'd realized that my Harvest Moon came with a lot of 'balsamic reduction' poured on top. I found it very sweet, which I'm almost positive meant they added quite a bit of sweetener (honey or sugar). Our food was brought out to us in less than ten minutes. We really had split opinions on this one. For me, the food was a 2* at best. The crepe was not what I consider to be an authentic crepe, which should be light, and thin, not thick and doughy. And of course, mine was so covered in that sweet sauce, I felt like I'd gotten a sweet rather than savory crepe, which was absolutely not what I was looking for. My husband didn't care about crepe authenticity; he just really enjoyed the combination of flavors in this Southwestern. He says his ingredients were fresh, plentiful, and delicious. At least 4* for the food from him, if not 5*.

Razz Dream and GCP Garlic Chicken Pesto (Savory)

10/10 love this place. Any time I visit Bellingham these crepes are a must. The razz dream is my all time favorite but if I'm feeling savory I always get the garlic chicken pesto. But honestly every option they offer is delicious. Bonus points to them for having gf crepes and toppings available. The employees are always friendly and welcoming and I hardly see the place empty.

I came here on a Saturday morning around 10am with a friend, we ordered at the counter and chose our own seats! These crepes...OH. MY. GOD!! INCREDIBLEEEE!!! It was sooooo unbelievably delicious. We waited around 30 minutes for our food and it was 100% worth the wait. The hollandaise sauce was phenomenalllllll, seriously the perfect sauce for that savory crepe. All the servers were sooo kind, I felt like everyone became my friend in this space. That's how you make a place feel like home. I also loveeeed the music they placed too. Whoever was on aux, drop the playlist! Next time I'm in Bellingham, I will absolutely have to stop here again!

Been going here for years and can't believe I haven't shared my experiences here! They've changed up a little since they opened and it's always for the better. My go to is the typical strawberry Nutella (light on the Nutella). Although there can be a wait time sometimes, you can always count on your crepe to be fresh. The staff here are amazing and they really give off the vibe of "this is work but I actually enjoy being here" and it radiates to how they treat their customers. I've since moved away from town but I always make it a point to stop by, even if i have to eat it in the car on the way home!

The crepes are gi-normous!! Very pleasantly surprised. The staff was very friendly. We were expecting a normal sized crepe and were brought extra large, filled with goodness, crepes. Rave reviews were given for the apple. We came back two days in a row, cause our grandson loved them so much!!

GCP Garlic Chicken Pesto (Savory)

If you're in the Bellingham area, AB Crepes is a highly recommended by locals and students who attend nearby WWU (Western Washington University). It is a friendly, trendy, and casual restaurant in Downtown Bellingham. I love that their crepes really are delicious and they stay open until 1 a.m. Wednesdays thru Saturdays for those late night cravings. My sweet favorite is the Strawberry Short Crepe and my favorite savory is the GCP Garlic Chicken Pesto.

Crepe challenge
Sarah H.

A fun place to grab a sweet treat! I enjoy the strawnana and s'more options, and I have yet to try a savory crepe. The service is pretty quick and it's a fun environment. This one time in particular my friends tried the crepe challenge here. The challenge is to eat 26 crepes split between 2 people which very quickly seems impossible, a fun challenge though!

Fresa Con Chocolate
Daniee Z.

Staff were friendly and professional. It was our first time visiting and they were very helpful with any questions we had! We were the only ones in the restaurant so service was fast! I got the Fresa ($11.99) with Nutella and fresh cut strawberries! It was delicious! Definitely heavy on the Nutella but the freshness of the strawberries really cut through that! It was an incredible crepe! I definitely plan on visiting again!

Strawberry Banana Crepe with AB sauce

I love this restaurant. We have lived in Bellingham for a short while and will be moving soon; but…read moreeven when we do we will definitely be returning as we have had nothing but good experiences here. The food is prepared with quality ingredients that are loaded with flavor and it is is obvious that the preparation is thought out and that the owner is passionate about sharing her recipes to the world. Ambiance: Everything feels home-like and traditional. It's cozy and well taken care of. The service is always good. Everyone here is friendly and attentive. We are vegetarian and normally I don't just bring that up but I am especially impressed by the staff remembering this about us. A good example was this morning our waitress saw us look at the specials board for the soup and making our day by letting us know that they had forgotten to put up a second option available that didn't have meat. There are so many places that would not care to take that extra step to please their customers and would have a "take it or leave it" response to people with dietary concerns. Because this is so common these days- Magdalenas stands out. We have tried a lot of different dishes here and theyve all been good-; Turkish cilbur, mushroom sandwich, breakfast bowl, the entree salads, and their omelets are especially good (I've had bad luck with omelets not being good from other restaurants and Magdalenas made me a fan again). The soups are perfect for the Washington weather. I am not much of a sweets person but their scones are perfect, as well as the donuts, cinnamon rolls etc. As far as drinks- the seasonal winter tea hits the spot. Mint or lavender lemonades have been good during warmer days and various espresso based beverages to choose from. Though I don't normally drink, their mulled spiced wine sounds very good and I hope to make an exception to try it before we move from here.

Fast, friendly service. We each ordered crepe #2 (with Sautéed veggies, mushrooms, fontina cheese,…read moregarlic, and yogurt with fresh dill, with buckwheat batter for $1 extra). Also, we shared a small order (6) of mushroom and cabbage pierogi. Our order came in less than 10 minutes. We loved the crepes. Though they were expensive ($18.50 each, +$1), they were unique and delicious. We enjoyed the pierogi, the taste was unlike any other we've had. But at $3 each, they were not worth the price to us. We thought they'd be a bit bigger and have more filling for that price. It's basically an $18 appetizer (and a small one at that). Our total lunch came to nearly $60 before tax and tip, yet we left a bit hungry. It was worth having the experience, but for me, the cost wasn't commensurate with the amount.

Our server recommended we get one savory and one sweet crepe and all of them were so good. This was the perfect amount of food and left us satisfied. It may be difficult to accommodate large groups, but if you come early, it should be okay. We were seated by the bar and we had a full view of the kitchen. It was nice to watch them make the crepes and prepare all the food. They have a few appetizers, savoury and sweet crepes, and quite a large cider selection. We both tried different ciders. I liked the scenic road razz. It was light and fruity. Tartare de boeuf- wagyu tartare, served with a beet puree and buckwheat crackers. It was tasty. I really liked the crunch on the buckwheat crackers. The tartare was seasoned well. Jambon blanc- savoury crepe with Parisian ham, cider onion jam, gruyere, and egg. Simple, but quality ingredients. It may look small, but it was quite filling. I enjoyed the buckwheat crepes as it added more flavour to the crepes. I do wish there was a bit more onions in this one. Overall, was very savoury and delicious. Saucisse- beef and pork sausage, bacon, red pepper relish, gruyere, and mustard aioli. This one was really filling. The sausage was quite large, flavourful, and not dry at all. The red pepper relish added some sweetness and brightness to the dish. The crepe went well with the mustard. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. It was nice to go to somewhere for brunch that was more unique than just the usual items for brunch. Service was great, especially since it was so busy. They were still attentive and quick. Prices are pretty good, considering portion and quality of ingredients. I'd recommend checking this place out. I know I'll be back to try their sweet crepes.

Truthfully, I go for their crepes, but my friends are always bey happy with their other menu choices too. The staff is friendly and we never feel rush to eat & leave. This isn't a place you need to really dress up to feel you fit in. However, you also could if the mood suits you & still not feel out of place. Truly, I am happy that they even have tables on the main level that accommodate those with mobility aids. However, that being said, I am struggling to recall if there would be a easy enough way for a wheelchair or even a walker to make it to the main door. I'll have to remember to focus on that long enough before my next crepe eating bliss hits. As Cowichan Bay is a popular area to stop for meals, do plan to go in advance for parking. As even if there are a few spots for the restaurant, there isn't enough space to accommodate the full restaurant. If you are able to find a spot at the restaurant or are double parking at the restaurant (which is apparently allowed), it is good to let the server know what vehicle is yours. Beyond more than mention "I've parked my vehicle here", so a server can notify you if people need to be let out of the space if they're leaving before you're done. If you don''re not lucky enough to grab a parking spot right at the restaurant, you might have to go far up the road (sometimes almost to the hotel) or down the road (towards the parking area by the pubic washrooms) to reach any parking options. Definitely try it out if you are looking fit an option in Cowichan Bay. I know I'm looking forward to many more future happy crepe eating moments here with friends.
