Youtube Reivew: https://bit.ly/3Q3UpLR…read more Point #1: Excessive Markup on Fuel Pump A 22-year-old customer brought her car in after the check engine light turned on. She was advised to replace the valve gasket and fuel pump, with a total estimate of approximately $3,000. Because she relies on her car to commute to Grants Pass, she felt pressured and agreed to the repair. The receipt shows she was charged $2,000 for the fuel pump alone. -Typical fuel pump cost: ~$500 -Amount charged: $2,000 -Markup: 300% When questioned, the shop stated that this level of markup is "typical" for their business. Point #2: Failure to Disclose Critical Repair After completing the initial repairs, the customer received a message stating that an additional $3,000 timing chain repair was required for the vehicle to be drivable. This information was not disclosed upfront. When asked why this critical issue was not communicated earlier, the explanation given was that it "may not have been noticed until later." -This explanation is highly questionable. -The timing chain is located in an area that would reasonably be inspected during related engine work. -It is unlikely that such a major issue would only be discovered after completing the initial repairs. It is reasonable to conclude that this information was withheld, as the customer may not have approved the initial repair had she known the full scope of required work. Point #3: Inflated Labor Charges for Timing Chain The shop quoted $2,252 in labor for the timing chain replacement. -Claimed labor time: 8.5 hours -Implied hourly rate: ~$265/hour -This is significantly higher than industry norms: -Typical labor rates: $120-$160/hour The shop stated this was due to "tiered labor pricing" based on job complexity. However: -This pricing structure was not clearly communicated -The effective hourly rate is well above standard ranges -This results in approximately $1,000+ in additional labor cost compared to typical pricing. Conclusion The pattern of behavior raises serious concerns: Excessive part markup Delayed disclosure of critical repairs Significantly inflated labor charges Taken together, these actions suggest a lack of transparency and raise questions about whether the customer was treated fairly.

They have now charged $4000+ for various things, and HAVE STILL NOT FIXED WHAT I ASKED THEM TO FIX. They either argue, and pretend they know better, or ignore me completely. If they know better, then why is the issue still not fixed? I have ran the problem through every AI and got the same answer, I've talked to 17 mechanics, all agreed that the issue was what I told them. But these scammers, refuse to do their job. On top of that, I dropped it off with a full tank of gas, took them over a month to get it back to me, and the gas tank was empty? There's no explanation for a full tank of gas to be gone, with them just doing test drives or starting it to idle, they clearly did something else that used a full tank of gas, in a car that's extremely fuel efficient. I'm reporting them to the ASE, and BBB avoid them at all costs

My 2011 Audi A5 needed to have the front control arms replaced…read more I had read good things about these guys so decided to stop in to see whether they'd be willing to do this repair. I'd gotten an extremely high quote from another Ashland mechanic and was considering doing the work myself. Valley View Auto Repair quoted a very fair - and much lower than the other outfit - price and were able to do the work the next day. When I picked up the car, the bill was less than they had quoted me, as the scope of needed work was less. And the car is perfect again! I really believe these are some honest mechanics that want to do right by their customers. I will be back next time something goes wrong with one of my cars.
