The Quote Was a Joke - Called to get a quote on getting 4 Bushings replaced on a Control Arm that I removed and brought in myself (really easy job with the right tools) They quoted me 3 hours at $150 an hour. $450 plus I'm paying for parts? For comparison, another local shop quoted me $262 for parts and labor TOTAL. Either a huge misunderstanding, or this shop thinks I'm dumb enough to pay that! Made an appt. at 1:00 pm for an install of 4 new tires. When I made the appt they assured me that I could wait while the tires were being installed. After 75 minutes, I asked reception about an ETA, and she said soon. After another 15 minutes goes by, I asked again, the she said I needed to talk to Jason, who wasn't there. When I said Jason wasn't there she snapped and said she couldn't do anything and couldn't go into the shop. After another 15 minutes goes by, Jason finally shows and said another 10 minutes. After another 15 minutes goes by (now a total of 2 hours to install four tires), they bring the car around to the front, and when I look, the tires are a mess, and the right front tire is flat. I pointed it out and the guy delivering the car said they would clean up the tires and check the air. He takes the car back around to the shop and comes back and the tires look okay. Then, we left and got on the freeway, and the car immediately began shaking terribly and dangerously -- the tires were so out of balance that they were literally bouncing off the road surface and everything in the care was vibrating -- steering wheel and seats included. We immediately called the shop from the road, turned around and came back. Jason then took the car for a test drive (assuming he didn't believe us), and he came back and drove it right into the shop, where they re-balanced all four tires. After the re-balance, we left and everything seemed fine, until 2 hours later, when we left for dinner with friends, we noticed the tire pressure indicator was on; so we stopped and upon inspection found that the right front tire was flat again. We stopped at a nearby gas station, where the technicians discovered that the leak was at the valve stem, which was brand new, but clearly not installed properly. The garage helped us remove the flat and mount the temporary donut. We are going to another tire shop to have the brand new tire repaired. We will never, ever go back to Phoenix Auto Center, for anything. As you can imagine, we don't trust the quality of the work and still feel that the installation was completely unsafe. read more

The owner is terrible. My daughter took her car there to have them recharge the A/c and look at why there seemed to be a hesitation at times. they decided to change some electrical parts and then blew up the motor on the test drive! Stan originally agreed to fix for cost but refused to take responsability. I agreed to do that and told him to get the motor. three days later he calls and says it was the oil pan that was on there that caused the problem and there was a lawsuit against the manufacturer because it was an aftermarket pan. I later investigated myself and none of that was true. the oil pan had been on for over a year so doubt that was the problem at all? said he not going to keep our arrangment and in fact we needed to pay 1800.00 for work done to get the car?? amazing turn around! finally after three months of being jerked around i offered to pay 1k to just get out of there and be done with him. he refused. i finally tossed in the towel and told my son in law that he would have to figure something out, maybe an attorney? he was being screwed. so my son in law goes down there and offers to pay 900.00 to get the car knowing will be over 4k to fix what they did and stan tells him he offered that to me and i would not do it??! this guy is very shady and an obvious cronic liar!! again this started with a simple Air conditioner recharge!!? Very impressed with the service at this place. My older Honda had a squealing sound whenever I started it up and needed its winter tires installed, and then my ancient Toyota needed new tires and alignment. It was very easy to drop my car off in the evening and pick it up again the next day after work. There is something special about the office staff who make you feel welcome. I was sorry to leave our old mechanic in Ashland behind but glad to find a great place for auto service that's not far from work. We'll be bringing our cars here from now on. read more
