Saturday - car starts to spit and sputter Sunday - car completely loses power, misfirings, dying I called Valvoline, Assistant Manager comes to my location, purchases a styrofoam cooler, jacks up my car and drains at least 3 quarts of black oil out. Advises that most likely they did not drain the old oil out and just added the new oil on top of old. After this I take car to repair shop Diagnosis - spark plugs are saturated with oil, many codes are registering on meter, low pressure I continue to call Valvoline and create a case, District Manager comes out to repair shop and is very unhelpful and insists that it is no fault of a valvoline. He had no knowledge of what was happening or could happen to the car. The manager and assistant manager pretty much admit that it occurs and they probably did not drain out the old oil. The District Manager says it could have many scenarios. In the long run Valvoline did not drain out my old oil and added new oil to the old. My car had about 10 quarts of oil in it and started to cease my engine. I would not go to this business. They do very low quality unprofessional work. Save yourself the expense and abuse.

The tech said nah there is 3 flavors indicating conventional hybrid or full synthetic oil. Since she is at a cold environment and does highway driving I chose the middle option. Most places have you leave the car when they do the oil change. We stayed inside the car during the process. After all done it cost $85 since it was a better grade of oil I didn't mind. I got the inspection done today and the experience was great. Jay, one of the owners, welcomed me to the shop, very friendly. I sat in the waiting area after they started the inspection. There was another customer there and we started chatting. He couldn't praise the guys there enough. This other customer and I started lamenting how a lot of businesses don't provide the same customer experience we were use to from when we were younger (yes, bunch of old guys lamenting the world is going to...) and he said J&J is one of the exceptions. Jay showed me some additional concerns on my car...brake and tire wear. He showed me the problem areas and said I have some time left but these expenses are coming down the pike. It was refreshing to see this sales approach...I was aware he was upselling the other services they offer and I was totally happy with that...that's what all businesses must do. It was the approach, education, and showing me why the repairs would be needed that convinced me that when I need the work to be done, I will go to Jay and his team. Well done guys and keep it up! They didn't "upsell" me at all, which I was pleasantly surprised by. The young man who swapped my rims/tires did a great job & was very friendly. However at some point, he was pulled away by his peers to work on another vehicle that had been brought in by a tow truck. It's a very busy garage....my vehicle was left unattended, raised on the lift, for about 30-mins before he was able to return to my project. All in all the process took about 2-hours from arrival to leaving. Though I was pleased, it was unfortunate that the workers seem to be pulled in multiple different for for directions, unable to focus entirely on 1-vehicle at a time.

A 2022 Tucson really ? They put it on the rack and apparently left front driver side lug nuts were not tightened I was pissed to say the least, just thankful as it could've gotten real bad real fast. Total bill was $152.00 when I called to talk to Moose he was not made aware of it at all on Tuesday when I called. He apologized and let me know he'd get back with me after he spoke with whomever, never got back. I called 2 days later oh yeah sorry Nina was supposed to get back with you. We decided to fully reimburse you the $152. I recommended possibly test done on mechanic who did the car ? Maybe a 5 point safety check test drive always ? Never trying to find something else to charge you for ever. They don't work weekends and will always schedule your service for the following week and once you drop it off it's ready that same day always. Very reliable and trustworthy people. When I arrived, one other customer was in the waiting area. SHOP: this location is in need of a rehab and deep cleaning, but Chris was polite and professional. WAIT TIME: there was approximately 1/2 hour wait to get the car in the bay which was NOT VISIBLE through the waiting room window leaving potential questions about completeness of service by some previous reviewers who mentioned sub-par work. MANAGEMENT TIP: TRANSPARENCY- Show the work being done. I've used Mavis on and off for about 25 years for many vehicles. Most locations are extremely clean and have an excellent process. This location did not really seem to have a set procedure. For example, I realized after leaving that they did not give me a copy of the work sheet. THE GOOD: my issue with the tire was apparently a minor one because my keys were returned to me and there was no charge. Being relieved, I bought lunch for everyone and dropped it off on my way out. What I recommend this location again? Despite the good service that Chris gave me, the shop was in a sketchy area of town and their process seemed a little bit lax so I don't think I would return to the shop again.
