Bolt also worked directly with my warranty company and made a real effort to get as much covered as possible, which I appreciated. While they were in there, they were upfront about the spark plugs - noting that since access was already open, it made sense to take care of it now rather than paying for the same labor again down the road. That kind of transparency goes a long way. Overall, the team comes across as fair, honest, and focused on doing things the right way. It's safe to say I'll be going back to Bolt moving forward.

I got the inspection done today and the experience was great. Jay, one of the owners, welcomed me to the shop, very friendly. I sat in the waiting area after they started the inspection. There was another customer there and we started chatting. He couldn't praise the guys there enough. This other customer and I started lamenting how a lot of businesses don't provide the same customer experience we were use to from when we were younger (yes, bunch of old guys lamenting the world is going to...) and he said J&J is one of the exceptions. Jay showed me some additional concerns on my car...brake and tire wear. He showed me the problem areas and said I have some time left but these expenses are coming down the pike. It was refreshing to see this sales approach...I was aware he was upselling the other services they offer and I was totally happy with that...that's what all businesses must do. It was the approach, education, and showing me why the repairs would be needed that convinced me that when I need the work to be done, I will go to Jay and his team. Well done guys and keep it up! All the places by me in northern Virginia are crooks, but Prestige is honest, hard working, and fast, but not so fast that they do shoddy work. Told him to address the thermostat hose, throttle housing and asked for an oil change as well. He had me buy the parts (great so far), we scheduled a day for him to make repairs. He showed up and changed the parts but couldnt get the car to stay on. He said the motor was probably blown or one of the pulleys were no good. And said the engine was smoking..Recommended to return and charge the battery and change the oil the following week. Unfortunately my sister paid him.... he said he would be back. I went to her house installed a new battery and an alternator. I sent Tom a video of the car working and just asked him to complete the oilchange since he was paid.. Tom agreed. Although they were closed, I left the keys in an envelope with the vital information in a key drop box. The next day I got a call; it worked for the mechanic Mike! Go figure?! He said if it happens again to give him a call. A week later I stopped to mail a letter, at the Post Office. Turned the car off, put the letter in the box, went back to the car. All in about three minutes. Again the car wouldn't start . I was hesitant to call Mike, but I did. A short time later he was there with some diagnostic tools. He got in the car connected the tools and it started for him! It's beginning to look like I'm some kind of a lunatic. The second time, Sunday, the tow company left it there. Monday, Mike found the problem. It needed a new starter, they gave me an estimate about what it would probably cost. Mike called at 8:20 am. By 12:20 pm Anne Called - the car is ready the same day! What a major relief. Called a friend to give me a lift over to the shop. Around here you're out of luck without a car. In the City there's the subway and buses. Life as usual. These guys do great work, and fast, at reasonable prices. There's not enough superlatives to describe them.
