I'm convinced half of these reviews aren't real. At first I took my car (02 Buick Park ave base) to transmission King in Fort Lauderdale which is who I wish I would've just went with and they were able to explain how my band had cracked in my transmission because of a water pump leak causing heat/steam. I ended up taking my car to action instead because they were closer and initially quoted me $1800, after action got my car in they told me it would be $2600 to fix the transmission because of the electrical components. asked them if they noticed any leaks and they said no but they would check. two days later. They call me to get my car. They said they didn't find any kind of leak. something to couple days later, my power steering goes out. I took it back and they tell me I need a power steering pump and I should replace the rack and pinion and hoses too because of "wear and tear". I just replaced all of that in 2019 so now I'm suspicious and take my car back home. a week or two later my car overheats while I'm driving and breaks down. I go back to action transmission which I shouldn't have done, but they've already got $2800 of my hard earned money so I have them look at it again and that's when he tells me I need a new water pump. And my rack and pinion is bad and my power steering hoses are leaking. So now it's the opposite of everything last time . I think Mike is full of (s) hit and either tore my lines and didn't want to take accountability or make a problem for me thinking I'd be naive enough to give him more of my money. The mechanic who did my water pump looked like the hoses looked like they were cut. I'll update when I get a new transmission diagnoses if I don't have new solenoids etc I am pursuing legal aaaction! This might've been a nice place in the past when you see most of the good reviews come from, and there could really be some good honest people there but Mike isnt the guy he portrays over the phone/ in person. He is up to some shady work and it's going to get this company in a lot of legal issues. read more

Always struggled with finding good consistent shops and found doing it myself was less stressful than dealing with shops. I understand that's not everyone's motivator. I was referred to this Transmission Shop by a friend. I met the Owner who is none other than Al. He test drove my 2003 Ford Crown Victoria POLICE INTERCEPTOR so that he could diagnose the problem I was having with my Transmission. He told me what my problem was. He gave me a Quote which shocked me and he honored that Quote like a Gentleman. Now my 2003 Ford Crown Victoria POLICE INTERCEPTOR runs like it just came out of the Ford Factory itself. I told my truck to them to checkout my trucks transmission. One guy hooked up my truck to computer and told me about all these codes. Told me nothing wrong with my transmission but my truck is kicking back and forth and jumping gears and also leaving me stranded in the middle of the road. For them to tell me there is nothing wrong with my transmission was crazy. OK... now I've recently had some transmission issues and I decided to check a couple places to see what the problem might be. So obviously this place was first on my list, being I had been there before. Strike 1) This place definitely has new owners, not only was the interior different, but there was nobody there that I recognized. Strike 2) This dude, I guess one of their "salesmen" comes and drives with me in my car to feel it out. We didn't do any of the traditional gear shifts or accelerations, but some how this genius was able to come to a diagnostic conclusion. Strike 3) They didn't hook up my car to a computer to read the error codes from the transmission. Strike 4) Dude looks at me with a straight face and say's " we can't rebuild your transmission, but we can put a new one in from the dealer". Trust me for the over $3000 price tag this DeVry grad wanted to charge me, even if they were sourcing a new transmission from the dealer, the transmission alone would probably be double the $3000 they were trying to ripp me off with. Strike 5) This dude pulled out some picture book, then started to over-state all of the special tools they need to use if they actually could rebuild my transmission. I swear to god this DeVry grade must of thought I was also a DeVry grad with the mumbo jumbo wallet raping crap he was spewing. They had there whole laminated picture sales pitch perfected like a time share sales horror story. I went down the street to another transmission shop, they test drived my car, hooked it to the computer and quoted me a "rebuild" of my transmission and informed me the exact parts that are malfunctioning. How is that possible? Aaction Transmission said that I could not rebuild my transmission and that it was impossible to get the parts, like the "valve body" my car needed that was being sold all over the internet. When it comes to car maintenance I always want my baby running in tip top shape. That's why a "check engine" light is alarming to me. After the "check engine code" was found to be a transmission problem I went to a mechanic. They referred me to Aaction Transmission. When I arrived there the "check engine" light was already off, so it was hard to show them. Dan introduced himself and offered to take my car for a spin to help detect the problem. As we drove around he checked to make sure the transmission was working properly. It seemed to be. When we returned he had the high quality diagnostic computer hooked up to my car to make sure nothing was missed. The transmission code was no longer there. They did not charge me extra for this. I have been to many different auto and transmission repair businesses in the past. I have already been quoted ridiculously high prices for repairs that weren't needed. PERFECT. !!! This was my second experience with this service. My first was for my son who had just bought a Chevy Cruise and would be taking it to South Carolina where he lives. Aaction Transmission is deceptive, unprofessional, incompetent inadequate, argues with customers (including the owner Al), and tries everything in their power to avoid honoring the warranty. * Vehicle was taken to two different mechanic shops one for maintenance other for a minor fender bender, whom BOTH documented that the vehicle had the same TCM code problem (after Al's transmission work), and upon second visit, BOTH also reported that the code was in fact reset or cleared by Al's transmission to reflect that the car was "fine" (NO TCM code). * Aaction (Al's) Transmission refused to honor the warranty. * The vehicle was driving fine but acting the same, with the same TCM problem; before, after Aaction (Al's) transmission work, after maintenance work and prior to going back to Aaction (Al's) Transmission. * 3rd party diagnosis & inspection indicates that the new TCM replacement by Al's transmission was not communicating with the overall transmission, and as a result it triggered the same TCM code problem. In addition, evidence from 3rd party further reveals that the "transmission is not responsive" (stopped driving while in Al's Transmission's hands). * 3rd party mechanic shop also stated that the other two shops indeed did NOT misdiagnose the vehicle. * The 3rd party mechanic shop also discovered that the vehicle was (4) quarts low of transmission fluid and the gear selection was binding inside the transmission after Al's Transmission installed the TCM. Upon further inspection they had found metal shims had fallen between the shifter rods causing the gear selector to bind. * 3rd party concluded that Al's transmission work seems to point to incompetency or foul play. read more

hi, my name is carlos tolentino and the service that provided this company is unprofessional, inadequate and the owner of the company was rude/condescending. i went in on dec 27th for a check up on my transmission, i had previously gone to another repair shop but wanted a second opinion. this shop being very close to my home, with excellent bbb rating, was convenient. the manager of the company (owners son) stephen was initially very polite when offering me the rebuilt and stated that he was going to provide me a $100 discount for me exclusively since he understood my situation (this was sales tactic because the back of the business card states that they will provide a 100$ discount on any major repair), so the repair shop offered misleading information. i agreed to the repair and received my vehicle 2 days later. upon receiving my vehicle, immediately i noticed a sound in the back, like gear clacking, never had heard this sound in my life from my ford explorer 2006, before arriving at the shop, there was no sounds or clacking at all and my vehicle has all it's maintenance up to date and serviced recently (month prior) and i knew the transmission was faulty and needed replacement soon, but never any alerting sounds or clacking in the back. when i took the vehicle back to the shop the manager (owners son), checked it and stated that the differential was faulty and it was a preexisting condition, he also stated that the differential has nothing to do with the transmission and offered a $295 check up, i guess the manager didn't know that i had knowledge about transmissions and when i stated that to rebuilt the transmission you would need to remove the driveshaft, which is connected to the differential, they then offered to take the differential apart and have me pay for the parts, seems to me like a strategy to keep customers spending money in their shop. it is not possible for a differential to completely fail after one day and coincidentally after a major repair associated with the same functionality. the vendor stated then that they wont be responsible for their actions and that i could "do whatever i want". how can we trust bbb ratings when we have repair shops like this exercising in plausible deniability, which means that if they make a mistake or one of their technicians commits a human error, the company will not be responsible for their actions and since their are no legal rights that the consumer has to acquire proper adjudication, the consumer is undervalued and taken advantage of. read more

I paid a little over $2100 to have my transmission rebuild on a 2001 Dodge mini van. The van was brought over by my mechanic who said this was a great place for service, so I never saw the place before I had the job done. The place when l picked up the van was clean roomy and staff were friendlyaa and they had a very large dog laying behind their desk, bull mastiff size. Front parking is a little crowded and you would think how does that warrant a 5 star rating. Well six months later the transmission locked into 2nd gear and my thoughts was did I waste $210. I took van back and told them I had it serviced 6 months ago but didn't bring my receipt. They told me to wait a half and hour and I expected a new quote for more money. They came back and said the problem was not the transmission but the alternator and it turns later to be the case. They were extremely pleasant. read more

Took my 2001 Ram 2500 Cummins into this shop last year around July. Truck had lost reverse and all forward driving gears. This place had amazing reviews on BBB so I decided to go with them. Their staff was friendly and "understanding" so I let them rebuild my transmission. Truck ran pretty well for about 13,500 miles when I started to feel a stuttering and clunking sound whenever I was driving. Checked the fluid and it was burnt. Dropped the transmission oil pan and what do you know, there's 2 large pieces of metal in the pan as well as a ton of metal shavings attached to my now broken into 4 pieces mag pickup. I also noticed a kinked transmission cooler line on the side of the transmission which should've been repaired when I first had the truck fixed. So I put it all back together and took the truck back to Aaction Transmissions. I pointed out the metal in the pan, the burnt fluid, and the line. Stephen says he'll see what he can do. Came back to pickup the truck and the bill was $1850. He couldn't go any lower than that for some reason even though their repair job was clearly to blame. I get back into my truck and my AC doesn't work, 4x4 doesn't work, and door panel is falling off. He gets his "tech" to come out and look at it, the guy tried to tell me that I can take it to a shop and have it repaired even though it was all working perfectly before I dropped the truck off. After he finally figured out the vacuum lines had been disconnected or shifted he calls me back and says the truck is ready again. I come back and get in the truck, 4x4 light is on while the truck is in 2wd. His "tech" comes out once again to see what's wrong with it. Couldn't figure it out and tells me, "You sure it wasn't doing that before?" (Mind you they asked that about the A/C like 4 times before they fixed it). I looked at him and told him it was not doing that ever. So he couldn't figure out what to do. I got on my back and layed down under my own vehicle and switched a few vacuum lines around. BOOM, truck works like it should. Bottom line is, these guys are your typical "blame it on the customer and milk em for what it's worth" kinda shop. Mark L., Miami I have had real rough time for the past two and half years with my Pontiac G6 transmission. I've had it into three different shops in the Miami area to no avail. First problem was a leaking drive axle seal, causing some ATF loss which then led to a stripped out planetary gear and finally the torque converter wore out. I was at wits end, the car started slipping gear shifts, stalling out and thunking whenever the car was placed in drive or reverse. I put the car up on jack stands and dropped the pan to check the color of the ATF and it was jet black indicating burned out internal components (i.e clutch). None of these shops did a complete check of the whole transmission and torque converter. Everything with these other shops seemed to be piecemeal changeouts, assumptions and guesswork. Whenever I went back to these places they seemed to get whizzed off at my queries as to why it still was not shifting properly. I decided to look further afield in south florida and on the web, found the reviews for Aaction Transmission which made up my mind. I put the car on a flatbed, took up there and met Dan. He hooked up an excellent Snap On code reader and we took it for a spin. He noted a few error codes stored in the ECM in addition to the poor shifting. Within two days they had finished a complete overhaul at a very reasonable price which included two new mounts and a torque converter. He also repaired about four sensor wires which one of those other shops had either cut or had the insulation chaffed off during one of the attempted repairs. I couldn't believe I hit pay dirt with Aaction after all I had been through. Since I picked the car up a week ago it hasn't missed a single shift, no clunking, no banging, no stalling and the gas consumption dropped dramatically. When you pick the car up they ask that you bring it back in about a month for a follow up check which I will do. (One thing I've noted on some reviews. Don't be scared of the word "rebuild" . By the time you have the problems that I have had with a transmission - the transmission needs to be rebuilt. It has to be dismounted off of the engine and all the gears, clutch, seals, converter, mountings, filter, etc., gone over completely and any worn out parts renewed. There are no half measures - otherwise it will just be back in the shop again. A complete rebuild for a couple of thousand dollars is still cheaper than buying a new car) Good Work Aaction! read more
