I bought a battery under AAA warranty in December 2024. Over the last few weeks, the car has been very slow to start and dying overnight. I have had the starter, alternator, and checked for bleeds and all have been okay. The only feedback I have gotten is that the battery reserve is bad. Called AAA roadside assistance to have the battery replaced under warranty. The tech, Alex, came out, jumped the battery and even stated that the reading on the battery showed it was not holding a charge. He then refused to replace the battery stating that it didn't fall under warranty coverage "because the car started when he jumped it". Absolutely useless... admits the battery is bad but refuses to replace it? I bought the battery a little over a year ago and it's already gone bad but it doesn't fall under warranty??? read more

Do not use AAA for anything more than a tow or battery replacement. Took my vehicle in for an AC issue. They swore they fixed the issue but a couple weeks later it's not working again. Now they say it'll take over $2,300 for what they "think" will fix the problem but were unable to say how they missed all the "problems" the first time. Took the vehicle to another shop and the cost ended up being half of what AAA said. Against, Do not use AAA for mechanical work unless you want to pay double for shoddy work and condescending men. We still lost the money on the original "repair" but at least we didn't lose anymore money to subpar work. read more

This place should be shut down. I got an estimate for over $1k. I took my car to AAMCO where the repair was completed for less than $400! No deals or anything with AAMCO. They are double charging on parts and labor. You can see it in the photo if you know what you're reading. The parts are also increased by more than double (price compared to Mopar - OEM) I could've gotten OEM Mopar parts for 1/3 of the cost! Do not go here. This entire estimate is wrong. None of these things needed to be replaced for my repair. I was actually selling my things to afford this! I sold my phone to come up with some of the money... I didn't even need any of this stuff! Horrible experience. Our daughter in law broke down with her 2 children in a desolate area with spotty cell reception. It took over 5 hours for a tow truck to get to her. My wife and I got to her, took her kiddos home (leaving her alone). Took them home and was going to go back to fix her car but AAA said they were only 20 minutes away so we went home and ate dinner. We finally went back after the 4th time being told the tow truck was only 20 minutes out. We got back about 1 minute after a tow truck finally got there. Horrible service. Called in at 8:00am and got my service dropped. Had to call again did not get my car picked up until 1:00pm. Also called the day before and the guy would not change my battery under warranty because it had been sitting for a month and that "voids" the warranty. However there is a 90 day wait for this void to be credible. Then no one came out today until 1:00pm. Then the tow truck driver stopped for gas and took 30 minutes getting gas making me late for my whole entire day. Very dissatisfied. Would not recommend. Could be so much better. read more

You live and you learn. This was my first and last time I ever visit a AAA auto shop. My car was towed in for a battery issue. It was a AAA battery so I was assured anything having to do with it would be free. After my car was dropped off, I was told when I would be notified when it was done. Long story short, they found an issue with my starter and "fixed" it by "whacking it with a hammer." Fine, whatever you gotta do I guess. So when I go to pick my car up, I was welcomed with an $80 charge to "diagnose" the problem. Never signed anything. Was never informed of any potential charge. This is why places like Firestone are much better to work with. They're much more transparent in their business practices, at least from my experience. After years of service here you can now write this dump off and forget all about going here for anything at all. I have been an AAA member since 1986, now after the insurance being way over priced after having my auto and home owner policy with them for 14 years, now the auto service has started to suck shit as well. My last 2 visits were pre planned and I had an appointment, but both times my service was delayed on Saturday's due to 2 out of 3 mechanics scheduled have called out sick, leaving only 1 mechanic on duty and totally backlogged, so that left my appointment times way off and just screwed the rest of the day. Well on Saturday 10/23 I arrived at 7:40am without an appointment, as I had a faulty brake light issue, I was told that there were 6 scheduled ahead of me, and that I understood, however the next announcement was that 2 of the 3 scheduled mechanics have called out sick "again " and that only 1 mechanic would be available in the shop today. Why bother even opening the fucking doors anymore, juts close up and get the fuck out of town and let someone take over that knows how to run an auto service center. If there is any fucking management at this location pull your head out of your fucking ass and fire the mother fuckers that continue to call out " sick " The insurance sucks, the travel is not worth or get what it used to be, and now the auto service has bit the dust as well. read more

Zero stars will be given to this AAA location until they can manage to update their website. Per the AAA website, this location allows customers to pay for their car tag and receive the car tag on site. Came here specifically for this service. Upon arrival, we were told that we could not pay for the car tag or get the car tag on site due to COVID. I am assuming they don't want to touch the car tag???????? Not sure what the deal is, however it is extremely rude to not post this information on the website. The AAA representative that we dealt with told us that we could go to the DMV, but they are backlogged for two weeks and we would not be able to get an appointment for another 2-3 weeks out. We were then told that we could go to Fry's or WalMart to pay for the tag, and then the tag would be mailed to us from the DMV. Just rude and a HUGE inconvenience to customers, who may have taken a day off or rearranged their entire work schedule just to come to this AAA location to pay for their car tag! read more

Car went in to have oil change, tire rotation, new wiper blades and new cabin filter. Tires were rotated but air not checked since two days later I had to have air added in three tires. Technician said five year old wiper blades were ok. No, they were not. I had them replaced elsewhere and was told every two years was the best I could expect of a wiper blade. (Mine left streaks and were literally falling apart.). No sign that cabin filter was replaced since dust inside glove box was undisturbed. Lastly, I just had the tires replaced and was told they really should have been replaced some time ago due to age. After a horrible experience with a local dealership, Carol made our experience above and beyond our expectations. We will forever be buying cars from her and/or AAA in the future. I decided to use the services provided instead of going across the street to the MVD. I was in and out with a new title and new plates in just a few minutes. I was here to change my title over from CA to AZ and get some insurance quotes for the state as well. The insurance side of thing went great and ultimately lead me to saving hundreds of dollars on my insurance after the broker checked all the companies he could, found great prices and while admittedly I didn't go with the offers I got from the guy here, he DID get some really good deals but I just happened to have a broker already who was able to get slightly lower. I'm giving it 4 stars though because the first thing - changing the title to AZ and getting a new license plate - took awhile. Well, it took awhile because the lady who runs that part was out on lunch...for like 2 hours, and nobody else could do it either. The actual process once she was back was super fast, super easy, and amazingly cheap (I'm used to paying $195 per year for registration + almost 70 dollars for smog check - here in Arizona it was $35 for 2 years and $17 for smog check!). For that reason I'd recommend coming in the afternoon like 2pm or later and not any time remotely near noon-ish or you might be stuck waiting awhile. read more

Great MVD Services Without The Wait! We love coming to this AAA location because they have MVD services without the horribly long lines at the government offices. It's a convenient location, ample parking, and super friendly staff every time we have gone. The fee for third-party MVD services is so small that I couldn't imagine why anybody would go across the street and wait for three or four hours at the government offices. They also offer free maps and trip planning and other services for AAA members. We haven't really used much of that yet, but we probably should since it's available. Gratitude! Gratitude! Gratitude! I am so glad I signed up again for a triple AAA membership. I locked myself out of my car, and after almost getting ripped off by 24/7 locksmith, I immediately contacted Triple AAA. I remembered having a membership with them many years ago but then canceled it. So I went online and connected with one of their online support services. Chatted online with John M., and asked for an airline corporate discount. He gave me Kim A.'s phone number which is their group rep in Arizona. Now I like to write nice letters and give credit where credit is due. Some people have a habit of just complaining about business, and not enough acknowledging and thanking. Kim A. offered me two different corporate discounts; The 10% or 15%. I took the 15% which is an automatic yearly renewal. Now is it worth it? Sure is. I paid $48 a year vs. the one-time fee that 24/7 locksmith was going to charge me. (See my review below on 24/7 locksmith) I almost got swindled by who knows how much! The guy that they sent came right away and got my car unlocked in two minutes considering I own a keyless entry car. Fast service. My final thought is perhaps the most compelling financial reason why I decided to renew my AAA membership is the peace of mind it offers. Plus not only that, I can put off buying a new car every year. Just the thought and knowing that I won't be left stranded on the side of the road or get locked out of my car again. This is the second time we've been to this location and customer service is awful. We moved from Ca and this location is extremely unprofessional lacking interpersonal interaction skills. Not just one employee , all of them . I've been a AAA member since 2012 , never have I felt this disappointed and eager to walk out from a AAA location. From employees yelling across the office because they're too lazy to get up to address an issue to plain miserable workers who don't value the importance of great service. Not needing any urgent service, I went to AAA in Gilbert to get some preventive maintenance done before a road trip. When I arrived, three service advisers were deep into their computers and ignored me, the only person standing at the Service Desk. Finally, the lady service adviser asked if I needed something without ever looking up at me. When I said "yes", she rolled her eyes, and said, "What?" I said, "Nothing, I've changed my mind" and left the building. I went to the Ford dealer and received excellent service. I have been an AAA member for 18 years. When I transferred from another state to AZ, they carried my longevity record. When I was stuck in downtown Phoenix after work hours, they were there to assist. When maps were needed, they were promptly mailed. Once I had a flat in the middle of suburban "nowhere ", AZ, and they were there. All these years. Congratulations AAA in AZ and in my previous state. This week, trying to get my renewal taken care of, I was switched from here to there and was cut off twice. I called back and got a call center near Orlando, FL. They could not help me . They said they would transfer me to Arizona. Ooops. Cut off again. I called back 4x only to be told higher rates were in place for the same# of people on my membership. Voice mail came on to the line that a specific rep who called me gave me. No reply. Then came the holiday and a weekend. I'm now not covered. OK. I'll wait until Monday. However I was told before that I would be purged from their computer records if I did not take care of this prior to Dec. 31st. Ugh. Ir's the first screw up in 18 years. But it may not be a screw up. We'll have to wait and see. What does tick me off is the lack of courtesy of the president of AAA Arizona. He doesn't have the decency to return a call. His sec'y is not friendly. It's attitudes like these of being too high and mighty that are not commonly known to AAA members nor the general public. Very helpful and friendly staff. I was able to get full car insurance at a much lower rate than I had been quoted elsewhere. I also got information on rental insurance, registration and plates. Their memberships are also well worth the small yearly price for peace of mind and great discounts especially when traveling and staying in hotels. First of all, I'd like to say that, for me, dealing with insurance companies ranks somewhere below a tooth extraction, but slightly better than dealing with a bank. I'd been comparison shopping auto and home insurance policies when I called and spoke with Margie at AAA Arizona's Mesa office. I agreed to fax my current insurance declarations pages for her review prior to our scheduled meeting the next day. At our meeting, Margie was right on time, and greeted me warmly, spending a few moments getting to know me before presenting her proposal for my insurance needs. She pointed out a few features of my existing coverage that were either deficient or unnecessary, and explained why she thought so. The actual quote she presented had all the coverages I needed or wanted (including some significant improvements in liability amounts and lower deductibles); however the annual cost was over $500 less than I'm currently paying. Overall, my meeting with Margie was very informative and pleasant, and I will be making a change in my insurance plan once I have fully evaluated all my options. read more

Worst customer experience. I do not typically write reviews but in this case I felt it would be a disservice if I didn't. I recently moved from California to Arizona and have been a satisfied AAA member for 32 years, this is the first time I have had a bad experience with AAA. I recieved my normal notice in the mail that my registration and tags were due come October (this is being written in August). I figured seeing that the Mesa office was open Saturdays that I would get this taken care of over the weekend. The wait was not too long (30 minutes) & the initial transaction was not long either. My return visit about an hour later is what promoted this review. Upon getting home (a 30 min drive) I realized the sticker given to me with my new license plate now showed the month of August however my tags were originally paid through October (basically I was being shorted by 2 months) I tried calling the AAA number to get this resolved over the phone after 40 minutes and being transferred four times they could not reach anybody in the Mesa location (come to find out their phone lines are down on Saturdays, not sure why). So I decided to drive back out there to get this resolved. Once I got back to the AAA Mesa office I explained to Guadalupe (who was the original person that helped me) why I returned. Her response was "well you never told me" with a smirk (referring to the month my registration was actually due as if it were my fault she didn't look at the month it was due) hello..I gave you the registration notice that I recieved in the mail, I was there getting my registration renewed do you not look at the paper work that's handed to you? Sadly this didn't get resolved and Guadalupe did an excellent job at poor customer service. A first impression is a lasting one, I hope I don't have to come to this office again. read more
