Before you rent another storage unit, buy moving supplies, or rent a moving truck or van, check out this U-haul Moving and Storage. First, this is *the* cleanest storage place you will ever find. You will be surprised by how clean your unit is. For example, I recently had to rent another unit and had to put together a clothing rack. I had to sit down in my unit to put it together. My unit looked really clean but, I was curious as to just how clean it was. So, I took my index finger and ran it across a small area on the floor. Clean! So, then I sat down and put the rack together. When I stood up, my *black* yoga pants were dust free. I don't know how they got the floor so clean but, I was quite pleased and impressed. Each unit also comes with a black box in the corner to keep bugs/ insects out of your unit. Second, when you ask for an air conditioned unit, it's actually air conditioned! Not "air cooled" but air conditioned!! It feels really good inside especially when it's hot here in AZ. Go check out an "air conditioned" unit at Public Storage and then check out an air conditioned unit at this U-haul. Night and day difference. Cleaner, nicer, cooler, and cheaper. Yes, cheaper! Third, there rates are cheaper than other storage places. I know because I shopped around. When you Google storage units, for some reason, U-haul doesn't pop up. Every other storage place does but, not U-haul. I wish I'd know about their storage units earlier. Fourth, have you ever arrived at your storage unit and wished they had a flat bed dollie to load your stuff on from your car/truck to your inside unit? Well, they have six of them *plus* two that can carry mattresses or items of that size. Very useful!! Fifth, just about whatever you need for moving and packing, they have. And, they're a lot less expensive than other storage places by a 1/3 to 1/2 the price. They even have special dollies to move large, heavy items, which other storage places don't have. Sixth, are you someone, or have someone, that can't stand for any length of time? They actually have chairs you can sit on/in. Renting a unit or truck can take time. Most storage places don't have a chair, much less extra chairs to sit on/in. This is really convenient if you and/or a family member need to sit down to conduct business. Seven, they offer 24/7 storage access. Yes, 24/7. For an additional $10/mo, you can *secured* 24/7 access to your unit. Because, not everyone can or wants to move between 6/7 am-7/8/9 pm, especially here in AZ during the summer!! Eight, other nice things are two drinking fountains next to the elevator, a place you can donate or take donated items (except right now due to Covid for obvious reasons), a place you can donate or take donated boxes, and a convenient loading/unloading dock for moving trucks or your car by the sliding doors. Nine, first month's rent is free! Ten, the best for last. The group that work at this location are great. But, there's two people in particular that have been great. Jack and Ryan. Both have been helpful, pleasant, and very professional, with Jack going above and beyond to help me out. He's truly the best and U-haul is lucky to have him!! Drove in to get my propane tank filled two employees standing by the door when I got out of my car they turned around and went inside. I waited 15 minutes and nobody came out so I rang the buzzer and waited and waited and finally a guy came out never said anything to me filled the tank told me how much paid him and not another word. Always love a U-Haul store. They have everything you will need to move. Trucks are a decent price and in good shape. Friendly staff as well. Last time I was there they were out of propane. Usually that's one big positive. They have a reasonably price for propane. Being out is not acceptable. If your supplier can't handle the job, you need a back up plan. Very poor planning on your part. There's a propane store a little farther away and they are never out. I'm not coming back to U-Haul because I can't take the chance of you being out. I just had a hitch installed and I couldn't be happier. Cost was half of what the car dealership wanted. I booked the appointment online using their automated tools. At the beginning of the appointment, the installer informed me that I didn't need the wiring harness that I prepaid for, so he refunded the cost. At 1:00pm I booked a appointment for 2:00pm when I got there and all signed in and about to leave with my arranged ride that lives 40 minutes from this location and with all my 10 months old car seat diaper bag and everything else that comes with a 10 month old they run out and say we can't do it because usually we don't accept appointments after 2:30 pm. So on May 18th I rented a 26ft truck from north Scottsdale going one way to the Chandler area. The manager told me I could drop off ANYWHERE close to my new home (Cooper & Chandler Blvd). To my disgust I tried the nearest neighborhood location who would not take it. I then tried another location a few miles west of Cooper, again I was denied. I rang the drop off number to ask if my truck would be safe at a neighbor hood location. The girl told me (anything can happen) between me dropping it off and someone checking it as late as 9pm that night. I got paranoid someone would back into the truck and I'd be charged. I removed it from the location and looked for another. At this stage I'd 15+ miles clocked up that I was allowed. I eventually found a location on Gilbert that took it in. The young lad behind the desk (dyed red hair) said he would look after my drop off as he had heard from another manager what I'd been through trying to drop off this U-Haul. As we finished up the computer work I asked him. "So what have I paid U-Haul today for the truck and he said it was totally covered by the company that he "com'd " it. To my understanding I took it I wasn't going to have to pay anything for the use of the truck for the day to which I was very grateful. 2 days later I check my chase account and bank a/c and see I've been charged for the whole day etc etc. I rang to Lodge a complaint and got a snotty girl on the phone who told me I was stupid and misunderstood. She said the Gilbert location manager would ring me to talk about it. It's now 10 days later and I have heard NOTHING. - U-Haul suck as a company and vastly overcharge and then blatantly call you stupid down the phone. Pathetic read more

Unfriendly staff, the most outrageous waits on hold when trying to call, long lines and horrible management. I never received the hitch I tried to schedule. Went twice. Both times where a complete disaster. The first time, they told me the parts were not in. No one called me to tell me this!! I rescheduled and the work still never got done. When asked to speak to a manger, nothing but excuses, blaming the fact that they're busy! When I walked in with my mom, I was greeted by a girl and guy who clearly didn't want to be there on a Saturday 6/25. Complaining it's hot and took forever to get the information in the computer and where a bit rude. They clearly didn't know what they where doing. Putting information in wrong. I've rented a truck from this location a couple times, most recently this last weekend for a move. The prices are fair and easily calculated on their website. I needed to move my reservation up by a couple hours and it was no problem. The truck ran well, was clean, and had super cold A/C, a must when moving in Arizona summers. Returning the truck was just as easy. Cleaned it out, folded up the blankets, and put in some gas. I over estimated mileage in at the pickup so I got some cash back. Gas is also easy to figure out. The documentation will clearly state how large the tank is. For example: If your truck has a 60 gallon tank every 1/4 of a tank is 15 gallons. Simple math and you can get your tank where it needs to be upon return. read more

I forgot it in my rental truck upon returning the vehicle, returned home and went back for it an hour and a half later and it had been stolen from the truck. I've rented from this place several times for members of the family and that hasn't been bad which is why I didn't give them one star. leaving someone waiting over 15 minutes for propane in 112 degrees is ridiculous. Several employees - not that many customers - at least two customers that I saw arrive after me and get service inside while I was ignored (rang the bell - went in and asked. Etc.). I ended up getting my oil changed then going back because the nearest Propane was the other direction from my house. To give credit where credit is due the guy who came out was apologetic and gave me a discount for having to come back. I originally gave them 2 but 3 is better. I really got the feeling I was bothering them buying propane. They had a good price on the sign, a large area to pull . I rang the bell for service. One of the guys cleaning out a truck looked up to the propane station then looked down. He took 2-3 minutes on the service bay then headed to the pump. He walk very slowly while typing on his cell phone. Gold tone with a easy hold button on the back.he stopped a few feet before the pump finished up typing then came the pump. At this point I was able to see his uhaul mobile check in phone and it was not the phone he was typing on. No friendly greeting. I had to greet him and tell him what I wanted. Once pumping, I asked if it was a busy day. He mumbled something about not really wanting to work. I was hoping he was just tired from a long day. Nope, I was just interrupting his texts. After filling. He just sat on the pump box and returned to typing on his cell. This is not the typically good service I get at this location. Funny how one bad interaction can change one's view of a whole business. Now 2 hours later, I am still annoyed. They pay this guy with money they make from me. I was putting gas in the uhaul truck & then it broke down. I was stuck at the gas station for 45+ minutes & had to push the truck away from the pump just so other people could get gas. We called to get a tow & they were taking forever so my boyfriend popped the hood & tried figuring out what was wrong. We were able to get it started & so I canceled the tow truck & dropped off the uhaul on time just so I didn't waste your time & money getting the truck towed.. I then called to talk to them about my troubles hoping to get things resolved for the inconvenience I was caused by being stuck at the gas station with the broken down uhaul & your employees sat there calling us a liar. Telling me that I lied about being broken down & stranded at a gas station. How insulting can it get? I'm an adult who spent my hard earned money at your company trying to move some furniture into my new apartment & they had the audacity to insult me & call me a liar. I will NEVER go to Uhaul again & I will be sure to tell everyone I know how badly I was treated by your employees. I think I'm owed a full reimbursement for my troubles & for being treated so horribly.. OK...this has nothing to do with this U Haul location, but has everything to do with the policies they carry. I rent a truck, state to state 1 way, truck is great. They price matched budget truck and even got me some other freebies (blankets, dolly). BUT...when you pick the truck up it was on 1/4 tank of gas. They say bring back with at least a 1/4. How am i supposed to know how gas I'm going to use? How do I leave the truck with 1/4 tank of gas? Get gas every 100 miles and not fill up? When you have a policy like this the only person who wins in UHaul. Rent a car, bring back full, why cant UHaul understand this. Full is full, and its really easy to do. "Sir/Mis, remember bring the truck back full or its $5 a gallon." No problem, but to bring back at 1/4 tank, and if its over that, thanks!!!!!! Bad policy by UHaul. BTW, this site, easy to find and the guy who checked me out, did that, checked me out. Once again this is about UHaul and the shitty policy they have! read more

I don't know about rental trucks, but I use this location to get propane in my truck, and have always gotten excellent service. In comparison to the Uhaul location on Arizona Ave, this place blows them away. I have never had to wait more than two minutes for an employee to come out to fill my tank, and would recommend this place to anyone who drives a vehicle that runs on propane. read more
