Cannot recommend A1 enough. This review was long overdue after our initial stellar experience with them about a year ago. We moved into our new home in early Jan 2025 and began to hear signs of rats/mice in the attic. Devin came through for us and guaranteed what no other company could do -- a 100% satisfaction guarantee. When dealing with a rodent issue (first time for us) it is true cortisol spike to say the least, but A1 alleviated so much stress. Complete proofing, zero poison use, total sanitation, proper safety measures, and routinely checking the traps for weeks on end, all led to us never having to hear or deal with another sign of rats or mice. I had a family member who also were dealing with rat issues in their home simultaneously and went with a different company, and unfortunately dealt with repeat infestations. I could not have felt more pleased that we went with Devin and his team because it proved to be the winning choice. They truly have your back and don't waste your time and money. Over a year later, and I want to express my gratitude again for their top tier (and FAST) customer service/support. Safety and cleanliness continues to be their number one goal, and it definitely shows in their craft and passion for this line of work. We had plumbers come in today to lift our in ground tub in primary bathroom to fix the water line and to our horror found an insane amount of rat droppings and signs of old infestation underneath. This was old material that would not have been visible without lifting out the tub, and not visible during the previous years visit. I didn't feel comfortable with the plumbers simply "sweeping up the mess" as they suggested. This process did not sit well with me, and I immediately thought to call Devin. He recommended exactly what I quickly remembered his previous system was, which was to properly vacuum and completely sanitize the area. He was able to squeeze us into his schedule same day, and we could not be more grateful for his professionalism and expertise. My personal favorite, is the absolute piece of mind that this was done correctly and safely especially because we have two young daughters, one who suffers from severe eczema and is dependent on good/safe air quality in our home. Devin is beyond knowledgeable, honest, and when you truly need answers and a 100% guarantee during a frustrating situation, he delivers! read more

6 stars for Devin and A1. Our home is next to the woods and a creek. And we had rats. Our realtor recommended Devin and he got rid of them for us. He is not only effective, but kind and responsive. read more

Devon and his team took great care of my clients house. Working as a realtor, I deal with plenty of vendors. When I was helping a seller get her house ready for sale, she had already reached out to A1 rodent proofing to help her with some rodent issues she was dealing with, they not only helped with the rodent proofing but also reinstalling insulation and fixing the duct work all underneath the house. I was very impressed with the work that was completed and the communication Devon and I had with each other. read more

Had an emergency arise and was able to get quick, honest service. Initially I tried to handle the situation with roof rats on my own but quickly realized it was too much. The company responded and handled the issue quickly and the price was fair.. read more

Horrible. Super unreliable. Has rescheduled on me several times. Super unprofessional when you keep having to call and remind them of your scheduled appointments. read more

Was able to come out the day after I called. Found critters in attic and removed, sealed up entry points, and cleaned up. Very responsive.

These guys were right on time, super professional, communicated clearly and did an amazing job. Very detailed on the estimate and they were very transparent for what was needed for our home. They provided pictures and gave specific recommendations on their findings before they started the job and asked for our permission to proceed which we appreciated. Other companies just assume to go ahead and then send you a bill. They took the time to review everything before starting which was great. They wore shoe covers inside and took cleanliness very seriously which meant a lot to me and my wife - our daughter has really bad allergies, we didn't even have to ask they just did it. A small detail that we sincerely appreciated. Best part is we no longer have any traces of rodents, which is important especially living near an open space. Would highly recommend to friends and family. read more

We highly recommend A1 Rodent Proofing and Pest Control. Devin was professional, knowledgeable, and thorough during his inspection of our home. We live in Sunol and had previously experienced a no-call, no-show from another pest company, so it was especially refreshing that Devin was able to come out promptly on short notice. Excellent service and communication throughout. read more

A1 really wasted my time. I called to schedule an inspection, and they gave me a 10am-12noon window and emailed me a confirmation. The day of the inspection, I had rearranged my schedule so I could be at home. 10-12 came and went, then I got a call saying it would be 2pm. Later get another call saying could we reschedule to next week? I was very annoyed and told them I rearranged my schedule to be at home, so they could either come today or not at all. They promised 4pm, but eventually came around 2:15pm. A week later, I still had not received a quote. I called them, was told a quote would be in my email in 15 minutes. Checked my email, even checked my spam, nothing. Very unprofessional company. Response to owner: My appointment with your company was on April 26, 2024. I received an email confirmation clearly saying A1 Rodent Proofing. My Yelp name is a nickname and the name in your records is my legal name. read more

Needed someone to come out ASAP. Contacted A1 and they responded pretty quickly and got the job done next day. Would definitely recommend!

We had a bad rat infestation in our attics and in the walls . we had 3 different estimates from other rondent roofing contractors and all were giving us the run around saying we needed new insulation and rat proofing that would of cost us a couple of thousand dollars in cost .Devin at A1 Rodent Proofing was straight and honest with us right out of the gate , he explained in detail how the rats operate. they were able to rat proof my home and set traps , and we are now rat free thanx to Devin and A1. I would highly recommend them if you have a pest problem and need your home rodent proof. read more

I was very impressed with how this company is run and extremely happy with the process and the outcome of the job. They were quick to respond and explained the entire process to me thoroughly. I've had a few other companies that were not able to fix my problem over the last few years so I was skeptical trying a vendor for a third time. However, Devin and his team made this such a hassle free experience with the results to back it. A1 Rodent Proofing is the way to go! read more

I probably only write a review once a year or so because someone really has to go above and beyond to warrant it. That said, A1 Rodent Proofing has called me out of hiding for this one. A1 went above and beyond for me and my family and truly gave us A1 service. From the quoting process through to completion, the service was top shelf the whole way. I received three quotes and A1 was right in the middle, but their knowledge and attention to detail was what gave them the edge. I couldn't be happier with having made that decision. We haven't had a single mouse or squirrel torment us ever since he poured the "rat slab" under our property and PROPERLY sealed up our house. We had been fighting for years with critters and other contractors that said they could solve the issue before finally hiring someone with the knowledge and follow through to actually make it happen. I would have saved thousands had we only done it right the first time. We live and we learn I guess. If you have an issue, don't waste your money elsewhere. Hire A1 out of the gate. They will give you the peace and work quality that you deserve. read more

Thank you, Devin and crew I worked with Matt who kept us updated threw out the full service of getting rid of them pesky rodents out of our attic . Thanks again, Bill & Cindy D. read more

A1 Rodent Proofing and Pest Control is "A1" alright. A1 at missing appointments. A1 at slacking when they actually show up. A1 at making excuses. A1 at unresponsiveness and the list goes on and on. The owner here should pack it in and go into another vocation. Save yourself the headache and avoid this company at all costs! read more

We bought a new home and and for the first couple of weeks we didn't notice anything. But as time went by we started to hear noises coming from our attic. Scratching and digging in the middle of the night. Right away I had to call someone. After looking through all of the reviews I knew that Devin and his team at A1 were the experts I needed. Devin was very prompt with his response, coming out for an estimate, providing me what I needed to know and pictures to show me as well. We decided to move forward with A1 and they were ready to get the work done, the next week. They helped me get my home rodent proof, set up traps in the attic and crawlspace, and even put down a rat slab in our crawlspace to prevent them from digging under and through our foundation. A1 is not your cheap exterminator, one and done. They proof, catch, and prevent any future possibilities of rodents. read more

A1 is all about satisfying its customers with excellent service. In our experience, our technician Matt is personable, experienced, and schedule prompt. We would not use any other rodent control company. read more

I've worked with Devin and Matthew from A1 a few times now. Every single time they have been professional, timely, and thorough. They communicate well, explain their actions, and don't do the "hard sell" - they tell you what the problem is, what they will do, and what will likely be the result if other avenues (partial solutions, delay, etc) are pursued. I had them out for rats, showed them where I saw them - they showed me droppings I missed, tunnels I didn't even know to look for, and a hole being used to enter. Highly recommend. read more

I had the best experience with this company. They were super flexible with my busy schedule took care of things that I needed done. Amazing customer service the owner and the staff are super nice and very respectful of your home. I recommended to family and friends for the season that is coming. Oh and they will match prices if you have another bid offer! read more

Just want to help Devin and Rayanne out by writing this review. They didn't request me to write one but I feel it's the least I can do for their services. A1 Rodent proofing is a family owned business which I really appreciate. Devin's crew is great and gets the work done. For over a year now I've been dealing with rodent problems in my town home and we had a rat problem in 6 other units joined to me. My HOA did absolutely nothing and I had to call different companies to "fix" my problem but the rats kept coming back. I've spent thousands trying to patch holes here and there but when I found Devin, he really clearly broke it down for me and said the whole entire building needs to be sealed properly. After getting my neighbors all on board (which was a crazy ordeal in itself!), Devin and his crew came to work for the entire day! Sealing the whole building and making it rodent proof. They came weekly to check on traps and caught a bunch of them in the traps in my crawlspace! I appreciate Devin being an honest and decent guy which is hard to come by these days. He really took care of me ensuring we'd have warranty on his work and he was confident in the work he does which has proved to be done well after a few months of trapping. Though A1 proofing may not be the cheapest you'll find around, it's reasonably priced and they deliver their promises and don't make promises they can't keep. Rayanne the wife schedules all the appointments for checking traps and Devin does a good job of not ghosting you when you call. He's busy so he may not respond right when you call but he's pretty good about returning calls. overall, please save yourself a lot of trouble. I've gone through sooooo many companies and really was done with this. I almost gave up but thankfully God sent Devin to us. Thank you guys for all your hard work and care to your clients. I've definitely recommended them to my friends in the area and will continue to do so! read more

They came to spray for ants, and the ants were still there within a week. We called them back and they sprayed again but the ants never went away. We spoke to the owner Devin and asked him for our money back and he gave us all sorts of reasons why ants can't be eradicated. He was rude and seemed drunk on the phone. I wouldn't be surprised if the spray they used was only water. He admitted to not leaving traps because he ran out. To date we have not received our money back, doubtful that we will. He is a scammer - save yourself the trouble and don't use them. In response to A1's reply: they came out twice not three times. He only mentioned that he ran out of traps when we asked for our money back. The young man that came out both times never mentioned anything about traps. In fact the guy was confused and asked both times if he was here for rats or gophers. The first time he took out his ladder and my husband asked him why he needed a ladder for ants in a kitchen. He was confusing us with another customer. When we requested our money back, Devin said that he was tired of us elitists in Pleasanton and that we were going after him, he even asked if we knew anyone in law enforcement. A very strange question. We told him that we chose his company because he was a local business and we wanted to support small businesses. We told him we would not post a yelp review if he sent our money back which he said he would but did not. Devin, I rarely post Yelp reviews. I only do it when I feel I have been ripped off. read more

Roof Rats are the worst! Devin was professional and thorough. He communicated well, and set clear expectations explaining the process and showed us pictures of what was up there. Even if you think you've gotten rid of your rats in the attic it's worth getting an inspection. If all the holes aren't sealed off right, those nasty little creatures eventually come back... Highly recommend! read more

The technician came on time and was friendly, knowledgeable, and honest with his inspection. He did a great job letting me know my options for how to best deal with my situation! read more

The bid included items that did not pertain to my house, such as closing off opening by a roll-up garage door (I have no garage at my house). They recommended closing all tunnels in the concrete foundation, when there was no evidence those tunnels are used by rats. All I really needed was to screen off openings into house yet the bid was quite over-kill, ending up over $16k. I had someone else come out who had done rodent proofing at another house of mine, whose bid came in under $1,000. Guess whose bid I chose? I cannot imagine spending over $16k on a rat job. read more

I cannot say enough about this company. They are very customer oriented and they will do whatever it takes to get the job done. Their services are very reasonably priced. After their initial visit, they come back for 4 weeks to replace the traps. In my case, they sealed up everything so well that the traps were all empty in the following weeks. Highly recommended! read more

One star for the willingness to come out and see what my issue was and give me an estimate. Simple problem, have a squirrel living in the eaves of my home. After the visit for the estimate I've heard nothing from the business. No estimate given, no follow up at all. Perhaps the job is too small and not worth their time? That's fine if you let customers know! Update: After I let A1 know that I had not heard from them or received the free estimate, they sent it to me. They even listed a discount on the estimate. That was nice and they did call to apologize. I spoke to both owners on the phone and told them I would look at the estimate when I returned from the holiday weekend. So to say that I did not respond to them is a bit misleading. It was 3 days from receipt of estimate to me contacting them to schedule the work. Seems reasonable to me. Anyway, Matt came out today to work on my problem and hopefully now I will not have the issue with the squirrel any longer. read more

If you want to get rid of rats, use this company! If all you are doing is using traps, you will lose the battle with these highly intelligent creatures. The crew showed up and spent several hours inspecting and sealing all the openings that the rats could use to access our home. They then set up traps in the attics and crawl space, securing the baits so that the rats would not be able to defeat the trap (how many times have you had the disappointment of the rat taking off with the bait and laughing at you?) I waited a couple of months to write this review. Not one sign of rats since A1 did their work. They were right on top of their commitments and called weekly to schedule inspections of the traps. Honest and very easy to work with. I cannot recommend them more highly. read more

I had really bad rat problems at home and after researching multiple rodent proofing companies I decided to call A1 Rodent Proofing. I am glad I did. I was able to schedule an appointment very quick. Devin did a thorough inspection in the attic and crawling space, showed me pictures and explained in detail all the necessary work required in order to keep rats away. In previous years another company did rat proofing in my house and I could see a big difference the way Devin and his crew worked. Devin and his crew were very professional. Also, Devin was very kind to wait for me a couple of months to install the insulation due to some attic structural repair done by another contractor. A1 Rodent Proofing is the best so far. I am very happy with their work. read more

We were struggling with rodents at our office building. We had our regular extermination company come out to fix the issue, but they were unsuccessful. After a couple of months of ongoing issues, we needed someone to eradicate the issue as quickly as possible. A1 came out within a couple of days to give an estimate, they were out at the property completing the work within a week...and thankfully we have not seen any evidence of rodents since they came out. I just wish we had called them when the issue first began and saved ourselves the time and stress of dealing with the rodents. read more

I had recurring rodent problem in my house, when I called and looked for help, A1 rodent was the first one to respond and offered their suggestions on the same day. Although I have a very busy schedule, they offered to work around my schedule and get this big problem solved step by step. Devin was very good and explaining the process. They have a very clean and efficient crew that would do their job and keep my house in order. We got the rat slab installed and my attic has new insulation for the coming winter. I really appreciate their hard work and would recommend them to anyone with rodent infestation. read more

I just purchased a home and discovered dead rats in the attic. The owner and his guys came out very quickly to help rodent Proof my home and clean out my attic. Suffice it to say we had a very bad crawl space and attic rodent infection. They were chewing through your cable wires, nesting and generally making a huge mess so called A1 for an estimate. Devin responded promptly, explained everything, and gave us an accurate estimate of the work required for the rodent anatomy. We required a rat slab as we had perimeter foundation so it was a big job start to finish. We required new insulation that was infested with the rodent carcass and droppings also. Form the start, Devin and team were on time, courteous, cleaned up after each day, and always followed up with next steps with zero follow up required. They also trapped for rodents over five weeks after rat slab and before insulation to ensure full abatement. This required multiple follow ups and reschedules due to our travel but Devin always accommodated with no issues and prompt follow up. It's very rare to have any contractor with this level of professionalism and follow through. We highly recommend Devon and A1 for your rodent problems. read more

I had a huge problem with rats in the attic. A1 came and removed the tiles on the roof and screened all the holes and any entry way to Prevent any rodents from coming in. They were super kind and professional. I recommend them 1000000%. They are I'll be coming back once a week to check the traps and soon enough we will be rodent free. We had rat and mouse problems so we called around for rodent proofing we went with A1 Rodent Proofing. Devin with A1 gave us the best estimate and gave us a thorough explanation on everything that would be done along with different options. We got pictures and different estimates for the different options we had. We went all out got new insulation and everything proofed. When they worked inside the house they made sure to be super clean on anything they did. They covered everything with plastics and covered the floor with paper to make sure nothing would get dirty. They also made sure our rat problems were gone coming every week checking the attic and crawl space. They stand by their warranty he came back 5 months later to check the attic because we had been hearing noises again. He did a thorough check and everything is good. Overall this company gets the job done the right way not skipping any steps to ensure everything is done the right way. They are not perfect but who is they are really good though. The only one little thing negative and it's a small thing is they change or take long to get to your place, but I guess it's a good thing because they are busy and things come up so I get it. But they still get a 5 star rating for doing a great job. read more

I have to say I was kind of skeptical hiring this company as they didn't have many reviews when I was searching for a rodent proofing company. I called and talked to Devin and he made me feel comfortable with his step by step explanation of the process. He came out and did a attic and crawl space clean out and insulation re-install and I had them rodent proof my home. As a business owner myself I was really satisfied with the scheduling process and how this company stuck with the timeline they gave me, and showed up on scheduled times every time. I Will definitely be referring this company in the future. Thank you Devin and Rayanne for the great service! read more

I'm very glad I chose A1 Rodent Proofing to assess my particular situation and recommend a solution. I always prefer to do business with local companies just in case there are issues with a particular company I have hired. However, with A1 Rodent Proofing there weren't any issues. Devin inspected my home and made his recommendations. It was easy to tell he has a lot of experience, knows what he talking about and is also very easy to deal with. From my perspective the associated cost was very reasonable. The proofing work done to my house was done expeditiously and was of the highest quality with total attention to detail. The scheduling of the proofing effort and follow-on inspection visits was done by Rayanne. She is efficient and very customer oriented. Anyone interested in rodent proofing any type of structure or dealing with a rodent infestation (fortunately I didn't have an infestation, but also didn't want one) should consider A1 Rodent Proofing. read more
