We had AWS respond to our leaking water heater we placed with our home warranty company, American Home Shield. I was very concerned due to the many one star reviews. I have to say, I was completely surprised and PLEASED with the service we had. Might be completely dependent on which service technician you get. The guy who came out initially to inspect the water heater was timely, quick, and all about getting in and out. Not bad. Asked if we had it inspected recently, and we did of course. He came off a little suspicious... but in the end recommended the replacement. We had Scott come out today for the actual install (someone new than the first guy). He was on time, polite, professional, communicated to us on what he was doing, It was nothing like most of the reviews here. So we got lucky I think. Scott mentioned that company works almost exclusively on home warranty contracts - and most of the workers are hourly, and some are salary. I had a leak coming through my kitchen ceiling thinking it was the pipes. We called the HSA home warranty and they send out Matt from A water solutions. My roommate was home at the moment and the water wasn't coming from the pipes and said it was the tub leaking from not being sealed correctly. He said he only does plumbing and left. (Was very eager to be in and out) Still left with a bathtub not sealed and a leaking Hole in my kitchen ceiling! Plumbers I know will fix the issue and then fix the hole in the ceiling. We have been having issues with our water heater for about a year now and our home warranty company sent this company to repair it in July 2022 and now (June 2023). The same technician came out both times and acted the same way both times. Unprofessional and lazy! He told us not even a year ago that what he was doing was a temporary fix and that it wouldn't last, and the water heater needs to be replaced. He came out again and looked at it for about 20-30 seconds and said the exact same thing as last time, minus that it needed to be replaced. I told him I remembered when he came out last time and said it was the igniter and that it was a temporary fix. He became very defensive and denied ever coming out to look at our water heater and then said "Well, you can pay $125 for this part or you can pay $1200 for a new water heater. Your warranty company won't approve a new water heater if I tell them you don't need one." Don't waste your time with this company! read more

I have no clue what everyone is talking about. This is my second time using A Water Solution, Inc. through American Home Shield and they were great!! I spoke with Erica on three separate occasions and she was incredibly kind and professional. Scott came to look at our issues and he was fantastic. He arrived on time, was very knowledgeable, and fixed our issue quickly and efficiently. I would use this company if I didn't have a home warranty. Had my hot water tank go out on Wednesday night. I placed a call with my home warranty service and the next day, Thursday, I was contacted by Erica from AWS to schedule a technician to come out that day. Matt came and inspected & confirmed that the tank has failed. He explained to me what the next steps will be that they will contact my home warranty service about this and work with them on getting a replacement tank, and that i will be getting a call back from Erica (AWS) with further information to go over. Within a few hours, Erica from AWS called me and confirmed everything and some out of pocket cost that I would have to cover, which was fine with me, and asked if I was okay with everything that we went over. She then provided me what the next steps would be in the process with them ordering and getting the hit water take and would call me back for scheduling. Within a few hours, AWS called back and confirmed that they can have someone out the next day, Friday, to install. Scott came out on Friday and within 2hrs installed the hot water tank. Went over everything with me and answered any/all questions I had. I also had a sump pump failure and I went through my home warranty service and AWS was dispatched again, and Scott came out and replaced the broken sump pump within 20mins and went over everything with me. AWS is very courteous, professional & timely. I had nothing short of a great experience with AWS. read more

I was sent AWS from my home (soon to be ex) warranty company, American Home Shield. The combination of these two companies are a match made in heaven. BOTH try and rip you off. I will only review AWS for this but I really believe that they are taking advantage of people and do not run an ethical business. At first I was REALLY impressed with the response and systems that they have in place to make appointments and get a tech out to the house. They promptly called me at 8AM and was very pleasant and worked with me to get me the appointment that worked for me. They have a system that texts you of where the technician is and when they will get to your place. Again VERY nice from that standpoint. Chris was sent to diagnose my water heater and he was very good, polite, and a 20 yr/old leaking-rotted water heater is not a tough diagnosis, but I thought he was professional and did a great job. Where things went south was in their quote they gave me. The setup I have with the home warranty is I only pay a $100 deductible for covered items. Well AWS was going to charge the warranty company for the install (over $300 - which is fair/going rate) but then they told me that I had to pay $350 directly to them which was NOT cover by the warranty company for "modifications". I asked what those modifications were and the answer I got was basically to cut the pipes up a few inches (plenty of room to do this) to accommodate the new heater which was 2 inches taller than my last one. THAT IS CALLED THE INSTALL. There was nothing abnormal about installing this water heater. Needless to say I didn't use them and installed it myself (pretty handy but not a plumber) in under 30 min. Bottom line is they tried to take advantage of the customer and double dip for the install charge. I recommend to stay away from them and hopefully business will suffer to the point they decide its better to treat people fairly. read more

DON'T HIRE THIS COMPANY! The owner (Matt) came to my home today Feb.16, 2021 for a refrigerator leak from the utility room plastic pipe. He started cutting the plastic tubing BEFORE ever determining what the problem was and where the water leak was coming from. He offered no logical explanation and didn't know what he was doing. He is very sarcastic, rude and highly unprofessional. He has ZERO communication skills, poor customer service and even flip me the finger as he left my home! Who does that? He is lazy and takes the path of least resistance. I can't believe that American Home Shield who I paid almost $700 a year as my Home Maintenance vendor would ever hire some one with such poor manners! After he left I checked on Angie's List to see other reviews and Matt and his employees have received "F Ratings!" consistently. No surprise there. This was the only company I could get American Home Shield to send out. My hot water tank rusted through on a Thursday and they couldn't respond until Monday! (Imagine a weekend of no showers!) A "qualified" technician was sent out Monday, after I had to take a day off work, only to photograph the broken tank and say they had to send info to AHS and get permission to fix it, which would probably be Wednesday. Also, they said they could not move the gas line on a gas water tank because they are not certified. Why bother showing up then?!Never once did either company say the process involved photos and waiting around for 'permission!' So 6 days after the tank rusted, I still have no hot water, no tank, and no help from either company, and out the $100 AHS fee. Both companies are big scams, hoping you will get frustrated and give up and just pay for it out of pocket somewhere else. This company was provided to us by our Home Warranty. We had a leak in our kitchen ceiling. Directly above the kitchen is a bathroom in which the sink was clogged. I called our Home Warranty number who sent out this plumbing company. The deductible on our warranty is $100 so we are responsible for charges up to $100 per call. The plumber came out and looked at the bathroom. He said that the clog in the sink and the leak in the ceiling were two separate issues. He would go ahead and take care of the leak, but I would need to call in the clog to do on another day. Instead of recaulking the tub, the previous owners had put this clean and pretty plumbing tape around the edge of the tub. When the shower ran, water went under the tape and leaked into the floor. So the plumber advised me to remove the tape and recaulk. Repeat: He advised me. He actually didn't fix anything. Then he charged me $100 and told me there would be another $100 service charge when they came out to fix the clog. I was floored. Most companies would have fixed the clog for the service charge and gave me the tub advice for free. This is how you get loyal customers. You provide great service and make me feel that you are watching out for me. That earns my trust and future business. Since this company works on home warranties, it is not interested in gaining and keeping customers. Needless to say, I did not contact this company for my clog. I called another plumber I found on Yelp. They fixed my clog for half of what A Water Solution would have charged. My advice? Even if you have a Home Warranty, I suggest checking around before having a company the warranty group sends out to you. I had the temperature and pressure relief valve replaced on my water heater. It was still covered under my homeowners warranty, so it only cost $55 for the material and labor. Tim who came out to do the job was very nice and informative about what needed to be done in the future with my 40 gallon tank. Although, I wasn't ready to replace my tank, he still gave me the details of what to ask for even if I decided to go with another company later. Honesty is a huge deciding factor, and quite persuasive! However, realistically, money is always close to the bottom line, so if they are too expensive without the warranty back-up, then I may go elsewhere. But my experience was good and it has at least earned a call if ever needed again. read more

American Home Shield assigned them to take a look at my leaking faucet. Their technician Jesse showed up after 4 days, took some pictures and promised to submit them to AHS the same day to get approval to do the work. After 3 days of no action, I call up AHS to realize they haven't received anything from A Water solutions. After multiple attempts to contact them, I finally got through to Erika and she tells me they determined the leak was my fault, implying I was using force to spoil my own faucet so I can suffer from not being able to use it for over a week! Essentially they gave me a run around for not doing the work and I can't believe AHS has reassigned them to fix it. Considering the number of negative reviews and their continued negative attitude towards providing the services they are meant to provide, I am surprised they are still in business. read more

This is by far the worst experience of my life - this idiot came out due to me using HWA for a bad water heater. When he showed up, he simply just looked at the water heater, touched the bottom and took a pic of the serial number and stated that he needed to contact the warranty company for further actions and it will not be for another couple days before someone gets back with me. However I needed to pay the service fee. I asked if I will be charged another fee should they come out again and sure enough I will. I stated I will not pay twice. Matthew from Water Solutions storms out of my house upset, then called HWA and lied about the diagnosis. Long story short HWA offered me a buyout of claim for $75 which was the cost minus any fees owed to this useless company. He was very mean when I asked him a question about how to operate hoses if in case a leak would occur. He installed the wrong type of sink in my bathroom which didn't fit. He told me to do the job myself. I addressed the issue to American Home shield and they didn't do anything. American home shield didn't want to help me and refused to give me a refund. He didn't wear a mask in my home during covid-19 and didn't answer my question if he's vaccinated when my family member has a medical condition. read more

AHS assigned this company to look at a flooded bathroom (I did not know where the water is coming from) and someone and came looked at the bathroom from the door and said it is the basement issue. I called basement people (paid fees) and they said there is no issue with the basement. One month later the bathroom and the room next to it flooded and this time it was clear the shower drain is backed up. I called AHS, they assigned the same company. The person who texted me to schedule the service was rude to me. Then the technician showed up who banged on my door instead of ringing the bell and was rude. After spending a lot of time going back and forth from my home to his truck, finally said "another technician with better equipment will come and unclog the drain" and they will submit a diagnosis to the AHS. Since the first tech did not even look at the problem properly and this time they contacted me only after a week of work assignment and I had to call AHS multiple times for this, I was upset too and told them so. After 4 days no one contacted me and I called AHS and the agent said, the vendor is waiting for "the time to submit a diagnosis" to be up. After a week no one called and I called AHS again and the agent checked with the company and said: "This company cannot do it because there is no accessible clean out". So they purposefully delayed my work because I told them they were late to show up. I have had a drain backing up for 2 weeks because of these people!!! Even more interesting is I called another company (not through AHS) and they came and fixed it within the hour. When I asked them about the accessible cleanout, they said "we will find a way to access it if there is no cleanout, that is our job". That is the difference between a good company and a really bad company. I hope this helps those who choose AHS and A water solutions for their service. read more

AHS contracted this company to come to my home for a non heating hot water tank. A young male shows up to my home and does not even introduce himself. He has no clipboard or tools with him at all. I walk him down the stairs and tell him that I had already removed the shield, shut the gas off, and I was going to remove the thermocouple but stopped because I did not want to damage the hose. He immediately tells me it is not the thermocouple and since I removed the shield and such I voided the so called warranty. He attempted to insult my intelligence and accused me of damage and that the entire burner assembly needed to be replaced and Kenmore doesn't make parts any longer for that water heater. he also said he would have to check with supervisor to get the claim approved. All fine so I thought. The next day nothing so I call the company a total of 8 times and not one person returns my call. I contact AHS to learn that the so called technician reported that the hot water heater was physically damaged by me and that I demanded a new hot water heater. After a long conversation they agreed to send out a second opinion and if they said there was damage I would have to pay for services which I agreed. Long story short new company comes out.. replaces thermocouple and I now have hot water. A Water Solution representative did text me after I learned from AHS what was reported that they will not be returning to my home since the unit was damaged and to have "a wonderful day". I texted back to them pictures of hot water tank before their person shows up and picture of hot water tank 4 minutes after their rep leave proving there was no damage. Still no word, apology, or anything. I will never call A Water Solutions Inc. nor will I ever recommend their services to anyone. read more

After I called for service because my toilet was running through, I was accused of having cut the chain attached to the flapper. I know that I never touched it, nor would my spouse have. Mad when I insisted it was still running though, even after my last visit (same company), the tech said I should just turn off the water to my condominium when I leave! On March 24,2022 I placed a work order with American Home Shield for a leak with my garbage disposal and leaks with my pipe under my sink. The technician came in with an attitude. He replaced some pipes but did not address the issue with my garbage disposal leak which was also the main issue and the reason for the technician coming out. After he completed the work with I explained that the garbage disposal issue was not addressed. He told me that I didn't call about the garbage disposal the work order was for a leak under the kitchen sink with the pipes. I explained to him when I called American Home Shield I specifically explained that my garbage disposal had a leak. He was rude, and told me that American Home Shield does not call in the work order and I had to be the one to call it in. He explained that American Home has not called in orders or scheduled in over 25 years. The technician told me that I should have told the young lady Erica who called to schedule and set up the appointment time that it was a garbage disposal issue and that he does not have a garbage disposal on his truck. when I explained that American Home Shield set this up and wrote up the work order he said well check the recording! this man Matt who was the technician was extremely rude. Matt came out today to fix a clogged drain that could not be repaired the day before. When he came in the house he had an attitude as if he didn't want to be there. When he was asked to put footies on before walking through our house, he commented on whether we wanted him to do the work or not. He refused to put footies on and was very disrespectful in how he spoke to us. He was very unprofessional from the moment he walked in the door. He wanted to let water spew all over our basement when opening the clogged pipe. We explained to him that the technician from yesterday only partially opened the pipe so that the water would leak into a bucket instead of all over the place. We just moved into our house, and of course it came with a home warranty. A week after moving in, we hooked up our washing machine to find the water valve was leaking. We had to completely shut off our water, because the leak wasn't stopping even with the valve shut. We called our home warranty, and they sent out this company. It was marked as an emergency repair. The tech showed up, LOOKED at the problem, took our deductible and left. He didn't tell his plan of action, literally took our money and left. Obviously, I was irritated. When I called in to ask what was going on, the receptionist was not very nice. I had to explain it was an emergency and that we couldn't even flush our toilets. She kept blaming my warranty company, so I called the warranty company and the job had been approved. I call back, and she wouldn't answer the phone. Finally she sent me a text message through an app. I had to speak to her via text message on an app because no one would answer the phone. The company tries to scam you out of money. When the man finally came back, he charged us $75 to cut a hole in our wall (apparently that's not covered by a warranty company) and then left the hole in our wall. I could have understood the $75 charge if he had planned on fixing the hole but, nope. He left it. It did get fixed. But after all the hassle and attitude, I wouldn't recommend this company. Just to add to this, we had another problem come up with our plumbing. Our warranty company yet again set us up with this company (which I was not happy about) and when my husband called to set up an appointment, Erika, the receptionist rejected our service because of "what happened last time" .... very unprofessional. But she did save us from having to use them again, so that's a plus!! read more

I called in because I have a home owners warranty. The technician came out and immediately began telling us reasons why the warranty company would not cover the repair! He said he would fix it for $250.00 but he would have to come back because he couldn't fix it now. The water line to the humidifier was leaking so I shut off the valve which was attached to the hot water tank. He began telling us that the water had been leaking for a ling time and there was damage to the pipe from over tightening of the valve placed onto the coper pipe. Anyway I called the warranty company and they sent out another plumber. I would never use this company! read more

Just to let you know that your service technician Matt verbally insulted my wife this morning. She was so mad she called me at work screaming that he accused her of purposely sabotaging our shower. To say the least I am disgusted and quite honestly had I been there I would have removed Matt from my home myself. It is honestly Beyond me why Matt cannot simply do his job without being a real jerk. What he did to my wife this morning is probably something that could be charged in a legal suit for harassment. Long story short the people who sold us this policy will probably go out of business and then the Attorney General will be talking to you about the abuse of nature of the so-called service provided by your technician Matt. The representative showed up without an ID and didn't introduce himself. He complained because he had to move his truck. His attitude and demeanor were appalling. He looked at the water heater and he was leaving when I asked when it could be replaced. He rudely said you have wait for an email. I questioned his attitude. He argued with me and took a step toward me. I'm 70 yo. 140 pounds and a 70% disabled veteran. I told him to get off my property. I called the office and reported him. They promised a new heater and a different technician the next day. Instead they contracted it out without telling me and the new company wouldn't come for 8 days to even look at the heater. read more

If I could give less than 1 star I would. AHS sent this provider out he was here for less than 15 minute. He was more concerned with telling the builder was cheap and installed a number of things wrong or not as he would have. I called AHS back stating what a terrible experience that I had and they told me my items were not covered. when I asked why I told the person they sent out stated the expansion tank was not installed correctly because he would have used different bracket and it was not a a fixed to anything. The provider is dishonest because you can clearly see the bracket and the screws attached. Basically at this point I would agree with the other reviewers stating they are just collecting the fee with no true intentions of fixing anything. Shame on AHS for allowing this to go on. also I was to by AHS that this company has a AAA rating with them as a top provide. This company appears to do most of it's business through Home Shield's Home Warranty program, in which they are assigned to the client by Hme Shield, collecting a $75 service fee no matter the issue. Since the client does not have a choice, there's little motivation for customer service. We had a leak in drain. The plumber showed up, cut through drywall to locate the leak, did not have the *part* to fix it and had to come back a week later to complete the fix. I'm sorry, but a decent plumber should be able to fix a leaky pipe on site. I guess we're on our own fixing the drywall. Basically it seems like this company does the minimum it needs to do to stay on the warranty program. read more

do not waste your time with this company. A water solution was dispatched to my house for a backed up floor drain in the basement through my home warranty company. The service technician, Matt came in without any tools, looked at the drain and the two cleanouts nearby and stated that they were too small and that I needed to have a larger cleanout installed outside in order to have the pipes cleaned. Since this wouldn't be covered under warranty he left after 15 minutes. I then called another plumbing company who came out with a snake with an attached camera, opened the existing cleanout near the the drain and proceeded to unclog the pipes all the way to where they dumped into the city lines. Clearly Matt from a Water solutions had no idea what he was talking about, or just didnt want to be bothered to do his job. read more

This is either a sham or a showing of incompetence. I would give them a 0 star if I could. Made a call through American Home Shield for low water flow in shower. The rep, Matt, had a bad attitude to start when he denied that flow was low. He turned on the shower, but that was abt it. He said nothing wrong, charged me $75 and left. Our shower is a Symmons which requires updating water control valves. A 20 min review would have revealed worn parts. I ended up going on YouTube, getting the parts from Amazon, and fixing it myself in abt. an hour for abt $75. Avoid these guys for warranty work through AHS!! American Homeshield sent this company out for what I thought was a leak in my pipes. The rude and condescending technician, was in my home for less than 5 minutes. He told the adults in my home at the time that we had high water pressure and the water was spraying onto the shower wall onto the floor. He said that I needed to replace the shower head, not that he would submit the info to the warranty co. He did absolutely nothing and collected the $125 service fee. I am disappointed that AHS contracts with this company. Now AHS is telling me that they will not cover the shower head replacement because it is a high water pressure issue, not a failure in my existing shower head, per the technician . A good technician would have actually done some work for the service fee.... He left no report, I guess because he did nothing. read more

Horrible service, didn't mention an extra $60 to take the top off the radon mitigation system until after they charged the $80 fee through American home shield warranty. Then they put in a sump pump and said we should clean the gravel out and would have to reseal the radon cover ourselves. So we have to completely remove the "new sump pump" and redo everything ourselves. Wow, what a scam, stay away. read more

Don't work with this company. We have American Home Shield, and they had come out a couple times before. One time, they did replace a part in the toilet that needed a simple fix, but they didn't do any of the other work we called about, work that was covered under the warranty (instead, they explained what WE needed to do to resolve the issue). The next time they came out, they helped with the drain clog we had, but refused to replace the leaky kitchen faucet (The technician said something along the lines of "Oh your faucet is definitely leaking. That's covered. Let me verify with my boss and then I can replace." The guy went to his truck and then came back and said he couldn't replace it.) This week, we had them come out through American Home Shield again--before I made the service request, I told them what we thought our issue was and asked if it was covered. They said yes. We either have a toilet leak or a tub or tub drain leak of sorts and a very clogged drain. The technician looked and said it couldn't be the tub drain, and then wouldn't even remove the toilet to check the connection there. Instead, this person implied it was "stuff not making it into the toilet bowl" (implying urine) that was causing the water and water marks on the floor. He then looked at our bathroom clog and advised my husband to use drano. Not one time in my entire time renting or owning have I had a plumber or handyman recommend using drano to regularly care for a drain. (In the past, I've been told they can damage it over time when used repeatedly.) If AHS tries to schedule you with this company, request another company. We will be dropping AHS if they do not resolve this issue. There is a huge ethical issue here (read reviews both on Google and Yelp), that leads me to believe AHS doesn't mind that this company doesn't do the work it's contracted to do. read more

I rent from a homeowner with an agreement for home repairs which apparently subcontracts to A Water Solution. Let me be clear that I am about to express my individual opinion independent of the home owner's knowledge. I am speaking for myself. We had a toilet that was running. The man came out and declared that the entire toilet needed to be replaced - to the tune of almost $500! He then proceeded to denounce the parts and toilet as being so old that you couldn't get the parts any more. When asked about the price, he boldly stated that they use only quality toilets - and that maybe we could find something cheaper, but it would be a piece of crap...ha ha ha. Unfortunately we were bound by the "contract" to pay the $75 deductible. I don't know if this man's arrogance was prompted by the fact that he was addressing a woman or not. But I have done construction work and home repairs for over 20 years. After he left, I took another look at the tank and the actual problem...the "flapper" that wasn't functioning properly. At closer inspection I found that the piece that holds that part down had inched up by about 1/4 inch, creating a "break" in the seal towards the back of the flapper and that was causing the "leak." After I pushed that back down and tested the toilet 3-4 times, it has been fine ever since. No more "running." In the meantime, we had called a contracting supply store (NOT Lowe's or Home Depot) and was informed by the Supplier that the he recognized the name of both the tank and the parts in it as being "very common." So common, in fact, that he was momentarily out of that particular part. That man could have found the problem as I did, did what I did, while still collecting his $75. That action, together with an honest explanation of the simple fix could have won a customer's confidence and loyalty for life. Instead, we know who NOT to call next time.
