They should get negative stars..... These people were deliberately trying to gouge as much money as possible. They were being paid by American Home Shield to replace the hot water heater. They came up with over $900 in additional charges. They even lied about some of the Code Requirements and work that had to be done.... The person that answers their phone has the Customer Service personality of a rude angry teenager. DO NOT TRUST THEM!! read more

I would give a negative 1 if I could!!! Terrible customer service!!!! Rude people and super difficult to work with. They give you an 8hour window of they arrival time a week after you call. They call you 30 min before hey arrive and if you don't answer and call them back within 10 minutes they cancel your appointment. I never write reviews but this company's customer service is terrible!! The plumber was nice though! read more

So we contacted our Home Warranty company this morning and they stated that we would be receiving a call from another company other then A+, however A+ is who called to schedule an appointment. My mother told them that there would be someone at the house until 2:00pm today and after that it would have to be tomorrow. They stated they would send a tech out. At 2:00pm I received a phone call which why they called my number is not understood and the lady on the message was very RUDE stating that I had 10 minutes to call them or their TECH was moving on. Called my mom and she had already left to head to work but my daughter was there and no one had come to our house. My Mom called the lady back and she was very rude to my mom stating that the TECHs waited for over 10 minutes(keep in mind the call came to me at exactly at 2:00pm by my phone log and we had 10 minutes to call them back before the Techs moved on. My mother called them back immediately and returned home by 2:08 and no Techs) and that their next available was not till Friday. I AM APPALLED THAT THIS LADY LIED AND WAS SO RUDE. UPDATE: Tech showed up at 2:45pm ready to work on my problem and Tech could not apologize enough about the RUDE lady and that they never told her they were sitting at my house that they were on their way to our house. I allowed them to fix the issue and the owner told the TECH to make it right.... which they replaced my whole faucet with an upgraded faucet then what they were authorized to install my warranty company authorized just to try and make it right. I appreciate that but I am still very upset that it was handled so unprofessionally that I won't be quick to have them back. read more

Just as many stated, if I could give 0 stars I would. The sad part is I was not able to review the work the actual technicians did because of the office staff! I had been out of hot water for roughly 1 week. American Home shield sent the service call through A+ Value Rooter and they were booked through for the following week (2 weeks of no hot water before they would come... in January). I spoke with the staff and scheduled my appointment, or should I mention just the day. No TIME or at minimum a time bracket. I was told I need to call the day of to know what time approx. the technician could come out. I agreed (since my choices were limited given the circumstances). The day of the scheduled appointment, I called to inquire on the time. It was mentioned that it would be afternoon or later. I then commented that I would be at work, but give me a call and then I would give my wife a call to tell her the plumber was on his way. I gave her number and then specifically stated DO NOT call my wife until you have called me first (wife works 3rd shift so if an unknown number calls while she's sleeping she will ignore it). Well of course THEY call my wife only. The message they gave was that she had 10 minutes to call back in order to keep the appointment. 10 min!!! Well our luck and the luck of great technology, AKA Time logs on iPhones, she called in 8 min (she happen to wake up in time and happen to check her phone). When she spoke with the receptionist, she she stated my wife took too long to call back and we would have to reschedule for next week!!!!!! Crazy!! Words were exchanged and as they say 'the customer is always right', well in this case, the receptionist was unaware and showed her lack of professionalism. She yelled back and hung up on my wife. My wife called the manager and was told that the girl is new and made a mistake. But we would still have to wait the following week. NO WAY! Unacceptable, especially when it was a mistake the company made. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. This was my first review EVER and given the situation, I felt it a duty to write out our experience with this company. read more

This company was sent to me by AHS to repair my water heater. After looking at the water heater the technician decided that it needed replacing. Since the water heater was over 12 years old....no problem because I have AHS right. Well this guy start to talk about codes etc and finally after conferring with AHS in private decided my cost would be 512.00 plus the 75 dollars I paid for him to come out and tell me that. I always thought if you get the work done they would subtract that from the cost silly me. I agreed to the charges because I needed the water heater and the technician stated they only install top of the line. Unfortunately this is where everything went bad with the install. This company sends out 1 guy to carry a 150lb(install manual specifically states 2 people to carry) water heater and he drops the thing and damage it. He installs the water heater and after install notify my wife that the water heater was damaged during shipment and this is the condition they normally shows up. You would think the guy would have notified the homeowner that the water heater was damaged prior to installing but this Tech and this company stated this is perfectly normal process. I contacted the company and requested that they remove the water heater and replace with one that is not damaged and they refused. I contacted AHS to have their contractor remove the damaged water heater and they stated if it's working they have no control over the contractor. Maybe I am over reacting but I don't think so. I will not be using this company for anymore of my repairs and I am dropping AHS. I have been with AHS for 6 years but lately too many claims that they try to weasel out of and these contractors like A+ Rooter are just horrible. Use this company at your own risk!!! read more

I just want to say I am SO glad we went with this company. I had my doubts because of the negative reviews, but after calling several other companies, these guys were the ones that rushed to my aid. Rich showed up early morning to assess our problem. A huge problem...a water leak in my slab running across my 2 story home. Rich and his co-worker , Rick, took the time to walk my husband and I thru our options, and we felt we were in good hands. Both were personable, efficient, neat, and informative and most important, they got the job done. The rate was highly competitive for this job and lower than other quotes. I would definitely call them again,. A+ Value Rooter are now my "go to" plumbers. Five stars!!! Rich and Rick! Thank you so much, I can sleep now! Whew. read more

Horrible company! They did NOT complete the job the first time they came out. I called and asked them to come out and complete the job and they refused to unless I payed my home warranty service fee...again! The lady I talked to the first time I called hung up on me when I told her the job wasn't done right. Got a manager on the phone when I called back and was accused of calling the other lady nasty names. I am in shock! The "professional" who came out didn't do the job right and when I questioned him he said it was fine, he replaced this and that. GO WITH SOME ONE WHO IS PROFESSIONAL WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND TREATS CUSTOMERS WITH RESPECT. read more

ZERO ZERO ZERO Stars - Worst service EVER ....called to schedule a master tub issue. Service call was scheduled for today 7/11/16 and they said as a Courtesy they would try and call me 30 minutes prior to arrival. I have a job and cannot just wait all day but anyways I did have a backup person to let them in just in case. Well, do you think they called 30 minutes prior to showing up?? NOPE. Sure didn't. The girl I spoke to on the phone (not Lee, but some rude girl) said she was shocked that the tech didn't call me prior to showing up. We hung up phone, she calls me back and says she called the tech to ask about this and he told her HE called me and waited 50 minutes at house. I told her he called me when he was at my house NOT 30 minutes prior to his arrival. How dare her question me, THE CUSTOMER. I am in the service industry and have been since early 90's. I'd fire anyone that spoke to a customer like she did. After reading all their reviews, it's a no brainer. They are consistent on being rude and arrival issues. Definitely do not recommend A+ Value. There are soooooo many other reputable and appreciative companies out there. read more

Referred by American HomeShield. A+ Value Rooter did more damage, did not fix the problem, left me without water and then billed AHS the $1000 coverage cap. They tried to "repair" the issue that wasn't even the issue which caused a problem that wasn't even the problem. I was told it has to be "trial and error" in situations but the next company came in and scratched their head asking why they did what they did because the water line they were repairing wasn't even the water line that went to the outside faucet A+ Value Rooter said was the problem. Basically, if you use this company, you're going to be highly disappointed. I've never seen or dealt with a more unprofessional organization who would leave someone without water in their home for a week and then say they're not coming back. AHS said I couldn't have anyone else come out so AHS is also on my bad side. read more

I was paired with this company by my home warranty company. The company never called my tenant or me to schedule an appointment. My tenant had to call their office three times, over the course of three days to schedule an appointment. Then, I had to call them to follow through with them going to the appointment. The work order was for a leaking tub and a slow drip faucet. The tub had a crack in the bottom - obviously my concern was that there was a cracked drainage pipe below the tub causing water to sit below the tub, causing wood rot, hence a cracked tub. The plumber that finally came out only diagnosed that the tub was cracked, which was causing the leak. He was unable to repair the slow drip faucet at that time because he needed parts, understandable. Well, the plumber showed up two days later, Friday evening at 6pm with no scheduled appointment, no call ahead to the tenant or myself to fix the slow drip faucet. I think this is very unprofessional, but hey, the faucet got fixed. OK, now the tub. Obviously one cannot make a full diagnosis of leaking pipes or not if the tub is covering up the pipes. But, somehow this plumber had x-ray vision and determined the only cause of the leak was due to the tub crack and closed out the work order. The company never called me with the diagnosis, never called me with a quote to replace the tub, never called me to discuss any follow-up appointments. Well, we the homeowners, took the tub out ourselves over the weekend. The following Monday I asked the company to come back out to inspect the drain lines to ensure there is no leak which would have caused water to sit under the tub causing the crack in the tub. I was assured someone would be there that day - no one showed up. So, I called Tuesday morning to speak with someone about this ongoing issue. I was put in touch with Joe. Joe interrupted me every three words into my sentence and told me "it is a no-brainer the leak is caused by the tub crack, we will not come back out there because we do not work for free, and to call my home warranty company," and hung-up on me. Needles to say, this was beyond unprofessional and just plain rude. I then went ahead and hired my own plumber to come out and look at the bathroom. Low and behold, the drain line was cracked, causing water to leak and sit under the tub, causing wood rot, causing the tub to crack. Pretty amazing what you can find when you actually diagnosis an issue. A+ Value Rooter, hah, more like F-. read more

Zero stars please!!! I had the same experience with this company being recommend through my home warranty company. They came out and told me the work that needed to be done would not be covered under the warranty. So I went ahead and paid $500 out of pocket for them to fix a leaking toilet and after they said it was fixed and left it started leaking again. When I called them, the woman on the phone was extremely RUDE and said they did what the work order said they were supposed to do so it's not their fault and if she sends someone out there I would need to pay for any work they had to do...even though I had already paid to have them fix it ion the first place. Luckily my brother is a home builder and so he sent some of his plumbers out to look at it. They told me that A+ had just replaced the flange, but a flange that was too small, nor did they seal it or replace the pipe connection and therefore the toilet was still overflowing and leaking through to the ceiling below. So basically I paid $500 for nothing and am now paying other plumbers to come and fix it properly. Do not use this company, it was a horrible experience. read more

Worst plumbing service ever! If I could give them a zero rating I would. Will never accept service from them through American Home Shield again. It all started with the original call to them after 48 hours not hearing from them via AHS. They said their phone lines and their computers were down. Should have known then that they were trouble. Service tech finally arrived, popped the shower drain, asked us for a wire coat hanger to pull clogged hair in the drain, and then he wouldn't treat the clog saying that treatment wasn't covered as long as water was flowing (which I found out later should have been covered). Instead he SOLD us a biological natural drain opener and cleaner that he convincingly said was the best thing out there and that it was not commercially available in stores or online. I found later that the product is easily available and at less than 1/3 what he charged us. Tried to return the unopened product and was told that I could not by 'Mercy' the manager. What an appropriate name... mercy my tush. read more

This is the first review I have EVER written, and if I could give 0 stars, I would. I am a small business owner myself, so I really recognize and appreciate the importance of good customer service and professionalism. The woman who called to inform me the plumber was on the way, was extremely rude and disrespectful to me. When I subsequently asked to please speak to the manager, she downright laughed at me and could be heard talking about me in the background to other co-workers while I waited. When the "manager" got on the phone, and I kindly and calmly expressed my concerns, they were not acknowledged at all. The "manager'' was just as disrespectful and unprofessional, and downright mocked me when I asked if as a manager she was concerned about a customer's report of rude behavior by an employee. When I said I was not feeling very positive about my business being valued, she downright told me she could care less. I then asked the name of the owner, and she said she was the owner. If this is how a company treats customers, why would anyone trust their services??!!! I would be very careful before making an appointment with this company! read more

Worst plumbing service I have ever delt with. My toilet was loose so I called them to figure out the issue. The man that came out had no idea what he was doing. It's been two weeks and my toilet issue is still not fixed. The plumber left the toilet just over a half inch above my floor with four round plastic rings the size of quarters holding the toilet up. (I wish I could show you guys the pictures I had to take) So there's no caulk or anything stabilizing the toilet. Over two weeks I've repeatedly had to call the company to have someone come finish the job. Twice nobody even showed up. And one day ago another plumber showed up to tell me he was going to charge me $30 just to caulk around these plastic rings that were sticking out of the bottom. I couldn't believe it, I told him to just get out of my house. This place is a complete joke. Pay the extra few bucks and have a true professional company get the job right and finished the first time. read more
