If you DON'T want authentic Japanese prepared sushi or sashimi, this is the place for you. (Really…read moretried to like this place but was disappointed on all 3 visits). The focus here is on the rolls ( which are dumbed down for American tastes and gloppy) and if you don't care about a lot of filler and don't mind paying high prices, this is your place. Portions are small, fish is often not fresh and rolls are filled with lots of filler instead of fish. Service is terrible if you can get them to wait on you at all. It's not an authentic Japanese restaurant/experience. The nigiri and sashimi pieces are small for the prices they charge and the rice is hard and not flavored properly. Their prices are too high and they are trying to do too much. Genuine Japanese food is super fresh and kept simple. The ambiance is far too noisy! If you want the real deal for excellence in fresh fish, service and ambiance, try Hana (it used to be Sushi Hana). And no, I'm not one of Hana's employees....they are just doing everything right, are Japanese owned and operated, their fish is flown in daily from Japan and they have a fabulous wait staff that often remembers their customer's names!
