Food is drenched in sauce. Went there for lunch plates and never had Chinese food like this ever. Service is fine and the ambiance is dark with old booth. I like the sweet and sour prawns, they are pretty great and if you like noodles make sure you order lo mein and not chow mein, the chow mein is hard crunchy noodles on a bed of veggies and lo mein is stir fried noodles and toppings! read more

Anyone suggesting Missoula Chinese food is untrustworthy and likely on the payroll of big Missoula--all the Chinese food there is dog dirt. This is the best Chinese food you'll find in the Western half of the state, no questions asked. read more

Bypass this place. You might try Chinese food in Missoula. Over priced, little to no meat in both dishes we tried. Pineapple chicken, and Mongolian beef. Lots of veggies though. One of them cooked. Raw raw raw. The only redeeming factor they had was PBR on tap. Good beer. read more

I tried this place last year. Asian inspired dishes are my favorite. I have traveled extensively and wouldn't call this authentic or even a good American example. American Chinese food is much heavier, typically fried dumped in sauce. What stuck with me? The food tasted like soap. I threw it out after eating a couple of bites. I had a combo plate. I will never go back, the high prices and the risk of a disastrous dish again is not worth it for me. I am not sure where the good reviews are coming from. Decided to try Hamilton Chinese restaurant. Pricey for what you get. Combination Fried Rice- almost inedible. Very dry and overcooked. Minimal vegetables in it. I tried the egg rolls- tasty but very small. Shrimp and Chicken with vegetables- not much for vegetables in it (any?), shrimp cooked with tails on them (not prepped for a dish like this). Water chestnuts were good. Some mushrooms and lots of bland onions. Not worth a $25 meal for one. Sorry, I'm just being honest. read more

I don't know how this place doesn't have a better rating. I was skeptical to go here but have lived in the area for about 8 months and finally went. It's so good! We got.. Lo mein Chicken and broccoli with fried rice Wonton soup Pot stickers To be fair the potstickers and they were fried which I'm not used to. And the wonton soup had a couple of fried wontons and a couple of steamed wontons. Odd to have those things fried but I will just ask for it without next time because the soup was SO GOOD. All the food was very different than what I would get in NY or Florida but it's still really good! The food is really good!!! I'm in love with the decorations too. My friend and I went there for lunch and we got Beef Chow Mein and Kung Pao Chicken (medium spice). The spice is exactly what I wanted (pretty spicy but yummy) and the Chow Mein noodles was very crispy and crunchy. Everything is pretty spaced out and social distancing is implemented. Overall pretty good food and pretty place. I would go again. read more

Probably the best Chinese food in Hamilton. Family run with dad in the kitchen and mom on the cash register. Lunch special every day and you can order booze from the Gold Coin Casino next door if you are so inclined. Their various soups are our favorites ranging from won ton, to those with noodles, all very filling and flavorful. And their broth is clear and clean, yielding a nice flavor. Their volcano special soup will knock your socks off, so if you like zest, go for it. Nice family and the waitresses are friendly extensions of this hardworking family. read more

This place makes Panda Express look like the Americanized Chinese food messiah. Where should we begin with the list of fried foods in my combo? Fried: Egg Rolls Wontons Noodles Rice Chicken Salad Wontons Soup was extra peppery, tasted off. Fried rice was bland. Chicken entree was bland & drenched in a strange MSG heavy sauce. Oil everywhere but that's normal for Americanized Chinese food. Only decent part of my meal was the chicken salad, after I had poured out all the sauce. Oh and the fortune cookie. This review is purely for their Wonton Soup. I've been going here for this soup for many many years and I simply cannot get enough. It's fresh and made to order every time. You need to get a large bowl with all fried wontons and never look back. I've been all over Asia and California eating Asian cuisine and I've never found a wonton soup this good. They have lots of choices and they're served fresh and hot. Their prices are decent as well. Cheng Family restaurant is family owned and operated for many years. I have been coming to this restaurant since I was a teenager and the food quality never changes. If your looking for a quick meal that is decent then check this place out. There is only a couple of options for oriental food in Hamilton but this place seems to be a decent option. They have the best hot and sour soup in the world and it's 4 dollars a quart. Go there on Mondays and Thursdays for it.

I was raised in Hamilton and always came here for dinner with the family. I love this place , has great traditional dishes for decent price! Oh and they have fantastic cheeseburgers, strange but true. Soup orders come in a huge bowl and always taste good. Love the interior decor also. I will defiantly drop by again soon. read more

APPALLING SERVICE and FOOD! We were visiting family in Montana and Cheng Family came highly recommended by them. DONT GO THERE!!!! The food was cold and the chicken tasted freezer burnt!!! THE WORST PART WAS THE WAITRESS! She favored a table that were friends. we could overhear her complaining to her friends about being in the "service industry and how she was going to get out of it, and one day she was going to put s**t into someone's food"! she also said the next time someone leaves a one dollar tip she is going to chase them down and say, "sir, sir, you left this on the table, you need it more than I do." She discussed her poor wages with her friends and told her friend she was quitting soon...In my opinion...she will do the Cheng Family Restaurant a favor by leaving sooner than later! The owners go out of their way to accommodate the customers, and try their best to prepare high-quality dishes.
