We have been coming here since they opened the physical location and have had good food and service in the past, we order takeout semi-often and are happy to tip and wait up to an hour for things to be ready. This is a review for the owners/management. However with our most recent order the prices increased substantially, from $18 to $25 for one example. And an additional 10% take out fee on top of that. There has been no update of the pricing online and no notice over the phone. I placed a usual order over the phone and sent my husband to pick up and he came home with an outrageous bill. I was told over the phone that I should come in and pick up a takeout menu to see the prices... but we won't be back. Allegedly the prices changed last week but they have not been changed online in that time frame. Might be a good idea to verbalize the price (at least the total overall) to customers when they place an order if you won't be posting accurate pricing information online. We really liked this place but that is borderline theft. read more

Frequent A Thaiger for both take out and dining in. Great food, and the staff is very helpful and friendly. My wife really appreciates their gluten free dishes as she is gluten intolerant. For her it is not a fad, but she has celiac and gets violently ill from anything that contains gluten. Such a delight to find a good Asian restaurant in Hamilton. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Food is very good. I wanted to try out the Pad Thai -- what better dish to judge a Thai inspired place by. It was tasty (the sauce determines the quality of Pad Thai and it was nicely sweet sour), the noodles were cooked well, and the flavors were right on. Large portions, couldn't finish it all (so got a nice future treat out of the deal). Prices are a bit on the high side for such simple food (with not a lot of meat as Pad Thai should be made), but are on par with any above average quality restaurant in any Big City--however, Hamilton is not a big city. Overall, a great option in Hamilton. Can't wait to find out if their extensive sushi offerings are delivered with the same quality. FYI: A Thaiger used to be located in a "food trailer" in the parking lot of Backroads Cider. They have since moved to a brick and mortar, regular restaurant setup in downtown Hamilton. So, a lot of older reviews reflect the food trailer location and menu - all of which has changed, but has been upgraded. read more

I have two favorite restaurants in SW Montana and A-Thaiger is one of them. For fast casual it is my number one choice. For overall food, it's my number 2 but my number 1 Asian food restaurant. Does that make sense???? A Thaiger has sushi selections and Taiwanese/Asian fusion type dishes. it is a diner type setting and it is best to get there early. They are open for lunch from, I think, 11 to 2 and then they close until dinner time at 5. They are closed on Mondays and sometimes they have to close during the week because of staffing shortages. This seems to be getting more common in this post-covid world. It seems that it is just hard to find folks who will commit to working. I love A-Thaiger and, while I do try to order new items on occasion, I am a creature of habit. I absolutely love their sweet and sour chicken. I is amazing to me. The chicken is fried up in a crunchy-ish batter, is packed full of veggies and has several pieces of pineapple in it. it is covered by a sweet and sour sauce that is NOT the standard out-of-a-bottle orange gelatinous goo. Quite frankly, it is delicious. We also love their Shumai appetizer (did I spell that right?) and sushi options. The only thing we haven't enjoyed so far is the Tom Yum soup. It is a bit more sour than we enjoy. The only consistent ding that I have for A-Thaiger is that they are not good at answering their phone because they get so busy. Sometimes we think they are just busy and drive 40 minutes only to learn they are closed due to staffing shortages or they are too packed to accept more guests. Lately though, they have put on their Facebook page updates when they are closed due to staffing levels. Do try A-Thaiger. I think they serve yummy food. I've been going to A Thaiger since it was just a food truck off of the highway and I have to say tonight is the first night I was completly disappointed. Normally the food is pretty expensive but the portion sizes usually are fairly large so I disregard it. I do order some Thai food but I mainly order the Chirashi Poke Bowl, which is a $30 bowl but because it normally has around 15 pieces of sashimi so I understand. Tonight I waited an extra half hour passed the time my food was supposed to be done (had already waited an hour) and I received my food and it is quite literally half the size of what it was. Half the sashimi, almost no rice, and maybe a spoonful of seaweed salad which I really enjoy. I may go again to see if the other dishes are still worth it, but from now on I'll order the Chirashi Bowl at 2nd street sushi and get twice as much for the same price. read more

When I am in MT, I don't usually think Thai food or sushi is going to be great. My family loves this place and I struggle because after two visit, it's just OK. The service is slow but kind. The setting is cramped which make it awkward to get around when it's full. The food is just ok. The best thing I've had is the gyoza but those are hard to mess up. The fried rice is sweet which throws me off. I haven't tried the sushi but I am a little skeptical asked on how I feel about some other main dishes. read more

I went there a few months ago and got my usual food "to go". The sauces were very spicy and hot. More than usual. The shrimp tempura and dumplings didn't taste right. In 30 minutes I was deathly sick. Really bad food poisoning I guess. Diarrhea and vomiting at the same time, fever and hot and cold sweats. It lasted 12 hours. This place had the absolute best ramen I have ever had. It was a special that night, but I swear it should be on the menu. It was so good! Apparently, it took almost a day to make where I imagine there was a lot of simmering in a big pot. What else can I say? It was so good! I'd highly recommend this place. Whatever the chef's special is I would go for that. He's extremely talented. I doubt there's anything bad on this menu, really. There are also some cute little axolotl in a tank, very adorable. We are visiting Hamilton here in the Bitterroot Valley from out of state, and our local friends suggested this restaurant tonight. The space is colorful, spacious, comfortable & fun. I loved the big, fun kind of psychedelic Tiger mural on the wall above us, and the 80's music videos on the TV behind the bar. The appetizer fried vegan potstickers were dynamite- addictively good. My entree of spicy basil tofu, that came with rice and a fried egg, was really excellent, the perfect filing & delicious meal. My friends and my young son both got the Teriyaki Chicken plate and they loved it, too. And their crunchy spring roll appetizer- they enjoyed that a lot, as well. The boba drink was weird because boba usually is creamy milk tea, but this was like bubbly Italian soda with small bobas in it, but all in all, a great meal, nice place, and friendly serving staff. read more

My family and I are visiting some dear friends of ours that moved to Hamilton a few years ago. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. Pineapple Fried Rice was beautiful in appearance - great balance of sweet and salty. Pad See Ew was deep in flavor, and a nice kick in spice. Pad Thai was absolutely delicious. The tofu was cooked perfectly. The sauce in the Sautéed Broccoli was probably my favorite flavor out of all. Great depth of flavor. Totally wouldn't have pegged Montana as a place with good Thai food, yet - here we are! I'd stack this place up next to some of the Thai places from home (California) for sure! read more

Admittedly, I am in a rut. I only order one dish at any Thai restaurant I patronize, and that is Drunken Noodles. Without a doubt, the Drunken Noodles at A Thaiger are THE BEST that I have ever had. And to add to that, they offer them Gluten Free, if requested. By the looks on other patron faces, the rest of the menu is just as good. Be patient when you dine there or order take out. It is well worth any wait! The staff is great as well and it is a fun place to have dinner! Both soooooo flavorful -- you can tell these are well-sourced ingredients made by someone who knows what they're doing. The gentleman making the food was very welcoming and friendly.
