First time visit, nice small family run business, the complementary chips and salsa were very good. Chips were warm.. Our Chile Colorado was tasty and portions were good-sized. Maria's is a wonderfully small family run business. The menu is limited but they do right by everything they serve. The food is always fresh, flavorful and nicely portioned. It's a small place so I wouldn't take a large group there. There is also a very large stairway, perhaps 20+ stairs) to get up to it. I suppose the building might have an elevator but I've not seen it. The service is fine but nothing extraordinary. I would say adequate. Overall it's a great place. I grew up in Missoula but I lived in Southern California for a couple of years when I was in my 30's. I had no idea that the Mexican food I had grew up with in Montana was terrible until I tried street tacos and burritos at one of the many local taquerias in Los Angeles. When I moved back to Montana I was super bummed because nothing even compares. However, I had a Carne Asada Jordan Burrito from Maria's yesterday and it was like a time warp back to the Cactus Taqueria in LA. It might even be better! The burritos at Maria's are a perfect 10/10! The carne asada is another perfect 10! The rice, the beans, the tortilla perfect 10! Even the spicy red hot sauce took me back! Although the location is up a flight of stairs I've heard they will bring food down to you if you order to go. The atmosphere and ambience is very pleasant and the service was friendly and quick! They should really open a second location. Their menu is perfect for a taqueria type of Mexican restaurant where food is ordered at the counter and more ideal for "to go" or "quick bite" rather than a sit down place with a server. Hamilton really needs something like this too. They'd put Taco Del Sol out of business. Heck, I could see a whole chain of Maria's Taquerias taking over all of Western Montana. I digress but a quick side note, Hamilton could also use a Noodle Express. read more

Visited: Mon 01/05/2026 Nice little quaint place. Service was great and so was the food. I had the Flautas and my Dad had a regular burrito. Again food and service was great. My Dad will order from here in the future, the only problem is the large number of stairs you have to go up to get to the restaurant, which we don't blame them for, they said they were going to put an elevator in but they were told the building is too old for elevator. read more

The food smells good, but there is no access for a disabled person to eat here. This business is in violation of the ADA and offers no accommodation for disabled people to eat. I will be reporting this issue to the proper authorities for remedy to the lawlessness of this business. read more

Ate here for the first time this week. I had a simple set as k taco salad that was so much better than other restaurants. The person I was with had chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. I'm going to try that next because it works so good. The service was attentive and very good. My only complaint is the stairs to get to the restaurant. I have a bit of a walking problem. read more

We ate there last Saturday night. I have purchased gift certificates for friends here but I personally have never eaten here. I orderedPazole soup and the pork was exceptionally fatty and had to spit most of it out honestly.. Although it seemed like all the other patrons got chips and salsa in the beginning, perhaps they ordered them. They were never offered. My wife and I are originally from Indio California we grew up on real Mexican food. I'm happy they don't sell Burgers here they do that it's not a real Mexican food place it's an insult to the culture. The food has fantastic quality, and the atmosphere is very pleasant if you haven't tried it out you should. It is not Taco Del Sol type of food this is made fresh and not from cans. read more

Very nice atmosphere. Popular for being so new to town! Excellent tastes, great view. Areas that need attention are more vegetarian options like grilled zucchini or peppers. Delicious! I had the three taco meal and loved it. I chose one of each of the three meat options. Others in the party enjoyed the food equally as well. Excellent Mexican Restaurant This is a relatively new restaurant which is a welcomed addition to downtown Hamilton. Located on the second floor of a historic building it overlooks Main Street. It is small in size, yet very quaint in ambiance. It is operated by a husband and wife team, she at the front end, he in the kitchen. The menu selection is limited, primarily tacos and burritos, however, the food is OUTSTANDING! All fresh ingredients, prepared and cooked when ordered. A variety of salsas, from mild to hot, are also offered with every dish. Only drawback is they do not have a liquor/beer license, so water and soft drinks are all that is available to drink. Not a deal breaker though. The food is well worth it. Will definitely be making this a regular eating destination. read more

The guacamole was very good, not spicy but still had flavor to it. I loved the different kinds of salsa, all of them were good, green, mild red, spicy green and spicy red. We love this place! The young waiter who I'm assuming is the owners son is very polite and quick to take care of anything you need. The gravy boat fries are absolutely fantastic. Our food was ready in record time. The street tacos are pretty awesome as well. The coolest part was the "pay it forward" wall with prepaid tickets available for those in need. There was probably a couple hundred dollars in prepaid tickets available at the time we were there and I think that's amazing. read more

This is a very nice, clean place with very good, fresh Mexican food at a reasonable price. They do not have beer or wine. The owners give free food to kids for lunch during the summer, they have a book bag drive in the late summer, and serve free holiday meals to the community. I had the Taco salad which was very nice, my wife enjoyed the carne asada salad. read more
