Great food and service. I typically do not like Italian food but, this was exceptional.

Called early and got food to go. Got meatballs and they were delicious. But food wasn't ready even after I got there 12 minutes after it was supposed to be ready. Had to wait another 10 minutes as I sat in the hallway in the back. Then there were "surprise extra charges" added to my order! Who does that? And there wasn't even any garlic bread or toast in my order. Don't understand why they don't have it available on their menu at all. read more

Would HIGHLY suggest Grano. We visited on a very hot day and it was still delicious. The 40 layer lasagna was phenomenal. Our server was fantastic. It will be a must stop whenever we are in Hamilton! read more

This is by far my favorite place to eat in the bitterroot! Good wine, great service and the food is on par with any restaurant in bigger city like Salt Lake. It's a tad noisy just because of the old building but that wouldn't stop me from eating there, the service is top notch! read more

Grano just opened for brunch on Sundays and the food is great. Best eggs Benedict and the Tuscan egg bake was amazing.

Ordered take out and they had to redo part of my order. One meal was supposed to gluten free. It took them 40 minutes to make the order right. Customers came in after me and received their meals while I sat at the bar area and waited and waited....Clearly I was not a priority to my server or Grano. While we always enjoy our meals whether it is take out or seated I was very disappointed in the treatment I received. 5 for food... 0-1 for making my order right in a timely fashion. Also my server had a bit of an attitude which did not help. read more

This was my first experience since I've heard so many great reviews and all I have to say is; Alycia, our server, was absolutely excellent in every way. Our appetizer of artichoke dip was fantastic. Not quite enough bread for 4 people to dip however. Main entrees were yummy and delicious and served without too much wait. Our server was attentive. But here's the star deduction. We were informed when we sat down they were starting speed ordering. All food will be ordered at the same time and if we ordered an appetizer we would have about 5 minutes before our entrees came out. WHAT?? Never heard of such a thing. Seemed so odd. While the service was decent, the food fell well below expectations for our party of five. First, they had NO lettuce for either of their two salad offerings which is purely a planning failure. Had the chefs been resourceful, they could have easily walked 100 yards to their sister restaurant next door (Embers) and borrowed some. The menu is fairly limited and way overpriced for the quantity and quality you received: a small pizza was overcooked, the foccacia bread was undercooked, and most of the pasta dishes were unremarkable, even the highly touted meatballs. I was by myself and was seated at the counter, which is their firm policy for solo customers. There were no other customers present during my dinner there at 5 PM on a Friday. My only choice was using my smartphone to bring up the menu; then order using my phone...plus paying using my phone for not only my meal but also the tip - all before I could have my food. Not broken out was an amount of just under $2 for what was explained as a service fee. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. Plus, for another $4.50, I also ordered bread as it doesn't come gratis with your food. The meatballs were bland and uninspiring. The spaghetti sauce tasted like low-end grocery store jarred sauce. The noodles themselves were on the tough side of al dente and were short - cut in half. Apparently this restaurant doesn't trust its patrons with full length spaghetti noodles. I had to ask my waiter for butter for my bread. Additional Parmigiano Reggiano cheese wasn't offered to sprinkle atop my food. On the plus side, the waitstaff were professional and polite. If you're a fan of old-time American crooners singing "Italian" music in the background (think Dean Martin's "That's Amore") then you're in luck. I won't return here. Ever. read more

Absolutely incredible dishes, loved every one we had. The pasta, the rice balls, the meatballs, the pizza, the Italian soda, the Olive oil cake were all well-seasoned and very flavorful. Had dinner here on the recommendation of a fishing guide. Our guide said best pizza in Montana. Walked in with wife and son. Glad we did. The service was a little slow at times but not in a horribly. It's got a decent high end Italian vibe to it. We had the spinach artichoke dip as an appetizer. Very tasty. My son had a basic pepperoni pizza. He loved it. Wife and I had lasagne. Very good. Would I go again? Yes. This will probably be our go to nice Italian restaurant moving forward. read more

We tried Grano a few weeks ago and loved it, so of course, we had to go back. Again, we sat at the bar, it's so much fun to watch the goings on. We were fortunate to get to spend time with Amelia and watch her make a few specialties. By the time we finished dinner, Amelia felt like family. My husband had the lasagna, which was off the hook amazing. We shared the arugula salad, which had a nice spicy kick to it. I had the mushroom pizza, again, the flavors and dough were divine. What an experience - hard to imagine in Hamilton a few years ago. Great improvement. The team go out of their way to make you feel at home.

Passing through Hamilton and searched for "Italian" in the area and Grano popped up. 1) Hard to locate as their signage is minimal. 2) Didn't have a reservation...didn't know we needed one, but at 5:05pm when we stopped in there were only 2 people in the whole place. We were told by TWO waitstaff/hosts that they could not accommodate us without a reservation and we were snottily shown the door. 3) Ate somewhere else, drove by at 6:15 and now there were 5 people in the place. 4) Their food might be good...but we won't bother the next time we're in town as their attitude was totally out of place for cute little Hamilton. BTW, the pizza at Highlander Brewery just down the road was yummy and we happily overtipped for their cheerfulness. read more

(A+++) Wow, fantastic meal. We loved your soon-to-be "Montana famous" meatballs. They were outstanding. To tempt future diners, they were soft, flavorful, and plentiful. Three to a plate, so we each had one, which was a perfect appetizer amount when served along with the arugula salad. We had the pasta bolognese and another aioli olio pasta (don't recall the exact name), both were excellent. Frankly, this was one of the best Italian meals I've had in the USA OR Italy. The place is nice but the food is average. Very disappointed in the pizza. It's bread not pizza. The dough is soft with no undercarriage to speak of. It's not even a pizza. It is bread with sauce and toppings. The most important part of a pizza is the crust. On a 1-10 scale the pizza is a 2 at best. The other entrees our group had were just ok. My wife and I are disappointed in this place. It just is not authentic Italian food. read more

So the ambiance is lacking, lighting is like a doctors office, cold hard seating areas. Not at all warm, welcoming or cozy. menu is weak, my husbands mushroom pasta dish was dry and boring, Caesar salad was over dressed.
