Came in around 12:45 on a Monday afternoon. Not busy and the sign said to seat ourselves, so we did. We looked over the menu and were ready to order so we waited. Waitress never even acknowledged us but immediately took the order of the next group that walked in. Talk about walking in to a welcoming restaurant to have a hearty breakfast. I ordered the the eggs Benedict and side of bacon. My gosh the portions are huge! The eggs were cooked perfectly and the bacon was crisp and delicious. The order of hash browns on the plate was half of the plate! They don't skimp on what they give you. The service was amazing. Our waitress has worked here for many years and you can tell she enjoys her job. She greeted us with a smile and welcomed us like it was her own home. I have eaten here many times before we moved out of state.On Monday January 1 new years day at 7:10 pm we walked into Bjs ready to eat after traveling most of our day. There were not very many customers in and our service was still very slow. We ordered a French dip sandwich, prime rib salad and the kids fish and chips. Our order took over 30 minutes to get out. Once the order was out, we noticed things that no body wants to have on their dinner plate. My French dip sandwich had mold on the top half. Our salad dressing (ranch) was sour and foul smelling. When we confronted them they didn't offer to fix or take anything back. After going back and fourth with waitress and showing mold they took the sandwich off of Bill. They would not remove our salad because "the ranch was fine all day" mind you we came in very late in the evening, where the ranch has sat out on the counter for HOURS. I asked a family memebr who worked there how they put away said ranch. They disclosed it gets new plastic wrap on ranch container and put into fridge if not all used in 1 day. You can't tell me reusing ranch that sits out everyday can't be sour. We payed $17 for a sour salad that we couldn't even eat because the ranch was that bad. We had the worst service to date. I have had breakfast here a couple of times. The food is very good. Hot and tasty. The servers are friendly and once you get their attention they really take care of you. Prices are very reasonable except the coffee which is a little pricey at $2.00. Definitely Bwill be my go-to place for breakfast. Can easily recommend!! I went to Bj's for dinner last night and was terribly disappointed. Their breakfast has always been either a 4 or 5 star experience for me. I ordered the Prime Rib and can easily say it was the worst I have ever eaten. The salad was ok, but contained at lot of lettuce that had brown spots on it and was wilted. The corn was tasteless like it came right out of a can. The baked potato was good, but the Prime Rib was horrible. I ordered the large cut and it came out with huge chunks of fat which represented about 30% of the beef. Also it was not even close to be being 12 ounces even with the fat. I cut off all of the fat and was left with maybe 7 ounces of beef which had zero taste even with the horseradish and au jus added. The server was excellent. 5 stars for service and 1 star for the meal. I think I will just stick with their excellent breakfast!!!! read more

This restaurant has been here since I first visited Montana in 1990 and very little has changed in the decor department so it is quite old and the atmosphere is plain BUT I JUST HAD THE BEST BURGER THERE!!!!! OMG, it was incredibly juicy, cooked exactly as I requested and full of flavor. I rarely write reviews but this burger was so good I just had to. You should check them out. Actually, everything at this restaurant tastes amazing but I hadn't had one of there burgers before. I had the Mushroom Swiss Burger. Not to mention, the prices are very reasonable compared to the others in town. My son had the chicken parm on a bed of spaghetti and he loved it. The portions are large as well. read more

This place is kind of an unsung treasure in the Bitterroot. It's just straight forward diner food but it's surprisingly fresh and well executed. What more to we really need after a long drive than good food with lots of flavor and little fanfare. Also a damn fine cup of coffee. No tea-colored diner swill here! I've never left a review before but today I had the worst food I've ever ordered. I could only stomach a few bites. I ordered a hot roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. A diner classic. And the four slices of beef were gray, bland, and chewy. The mashed potatoes were bland. And the brown gravy literally looked like harden chocolate and also extremely bland. There was no flavor in the whole dish. The waitress offered me a refund which it greatly appreciate it but she came back and told me there was no manager on shift that could do it. I arrived around 12:30 on a Monday. The waitress asked breakfast or lunch? I was expecting one menu but the breakfast menu is seperate. I love eggs benedict and don't make it at home, so I ordered it. From the 1st bite, I was disappointed. The so-called hollandaise sauce, if that what it even was, was very thin, watery, and had ZERO flavor. It was like eating just eggs and ham on a muffin. The women working there were very nice, that's why I gave a 2 star rating. When the waitress asked how I liked the dish, I told her the truth and suggested she tell the cook. She said maybe it's because it's late in the day for breakfast. I would have preferred to be told, sorry, we don't have enough hollandaise, and then I would have picked something else. I wouldn't have minded. Instead, I think something, maybe even a miniscule amount of the sauce, was watered down. It had ZERO hollandaise flavor, or any other flavor. When the waitress brought the ticket, she told me she took $4 off the bill. That was nice. It was a very bad idea to use that non-sauce. I've eaten at BJ's before and didn't have a problem. It was a horrible lunch. The cook should be spoken to about it. I wish I had rejected and returned it. read more

Sunday, April 25, 2010 I moved to Hamilton in '94. I think this was the first place I ate. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with a sausage patty. It was out of this world. It set the standard for biscuits and gravy for all time. My job would come here for dept. meetings. I would get a burger or chicken dish . I have never been disappointed. Hamilton is a small town of about 4,000. You don't stay in business very long if your service is not up to par. Even after I moved, For years afterward I have stopped here for breakfast and always get the B&G. The order is big enough that I always take half with me to eat when I get down into Nevada. The coffee is great too. The waitress is always warm and motherly . In fact, I wanted to get a take out for her too. The prices are just right. Always a treat. read more

My husband, friend and I went into Bj's on Sunday morning. We sat at the bar and enjoyed an amazing breakfast. We absolutely enjoyed chatting with the locals (who all seem pretty cool). What really knocked our experience out of the park, was Lisa. She was our bartender and server that morning. She's authentic, positive, fun and so good at what she does. We will definitely be back on our next visit to Hamilton! read more
