This was my third time coming here, and overall it was decent, but not quite what I've come to…read moreexpect. When I come back to a spot I love, I want the same dish prepared the same way every time -- that's literally why I keep coming back for it. It was pretty crowded, so I get that things get hectic, but that's not really an excuse for some of what happened service-wise. We ordered the corn fritters and oysters to start, and both came out cold. I'm not the type to send food back or make a scene about it, so I just ate it and moved on. For entrees, I got the Escovitch fish and my lady got the oxtails. The oxtails were way too fatty with barely any actual meat on them. My Escovitch -- flavor was there, it's always been good, that's not the issue. The issue was the portion of the sautéed onions and carrots that come with it. Last time I got this dish, that came with a solid, generous serving of those veggies to eat alongside the fish. This time I got what looked like the very last scoop from the pan -- barely enough to go with a couple bites of fish, let alone the whole plate. If that was intentional, like it's just supposed to be a garnish amount, fine, I'd understand that. But that's not what I got last time, so it felt more like I just got the bottom of the pot instead of an actual full serving. The BBQ mac and cheese also threw me off a bit -- noodles seemed unusually thick. But the GM actually came by to check on us, and when I mentioned it he explained it's gluten-free, which made total sense. Still tasted good, just personally not a fan of how big the noodles are. Drinks were subpar too, which surprised me because they're usually on point. Might've been a newer bartender, not sure. I didn't ask for anything off the bill or comped -- I ordered it, I paid for it, even with the hiccups. I just really hope whoever's in the kitchen tightens up on consistency, because the flavor foundation here is genuinely good. This isn't a bad-place review -- it's a "y'all had an off night" review. I'll be back.

We have been hearing great things from friends about how outstanding Okan is. So, we finally got…read morearound to trying it out. We made a reservation and when we arrived, were seated immediately. The hostess was very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was beautiful and very comfy. We liked the vibe very much. So far, we are thinking this is going to be a 5 star experience. Unfortunately the wine we ordered is no longer being served so we had to pivot to a different one. Which was fine. So, onto the food. My hubby is not as adventurous as I am in terms of trying new foods. He decided to play it safe. We started with the cornbread. It was served in a small cast iron skillet with butter and jam. The cornbread & jam was good. The butter was a bit odd. It was a whipped/fluffy consistency but the flavor was lacking. Honestly, it sort of reminded me more of old school Crisco from a can than a nice whipped butter. Hubs decided to get the ceaser with cabbage and the Mac & cheese. I ordered the cashew curry & Carolina Gold rice. Hubs absolutely loved his salad. He said it was the most flavorful salad he ever had. I am not a fan of cabbage but I tasted it and he is right, the flavor was unbelievably good. This was the best thing we tasted on our visit. I also tried a bite of his Mac & cheese and it was not something I would order here. I got an overwhelming taste of onion, which is not my favorite thing. Hubs thought it was ok, but not the best he's tasted. I was very excited to try the cashew curry. Unfortunately, it fell flat of my expectations. I expected a complex flavor profile with lots of layers. I got the earthiness & umami. But not much else. The veggies were good. But the lobster was chewy/rubbery in texture. I added Carolina Gold rice and it was ok, but sort of consistency of day old rice without a lot of flavor. It was very filling though, so we skipped dessert. Overall, service was 4 or 5 stars but the food (other than the salad) just fell a little flat for us. Not sure if we caught them on an off night food-wise.

They are also connected to the Port Royal yacht shop as well as the yacht dock. They have really good drinks, high-end spirits, beers on tap as well as fantastic food. Atlanta was our bartender. You can see the views from the dock boats as well as as one of the bridges to get over to Paris Island. 10/10 I definitely recommend this location and I will definitely be back. Unfortunately, on the day that I visited, it was pretty rainy and wet, which made the views not as ideal, however, it was still a great experience. I enjoyed the painkiller, and we also ordered a lemoncello spritz, which was fantastic! We both opted for something quick and went for a fried shrimp basket and fried flounder for me the shrimp was pretty good well seasoned and well battered the cocktail sauce was amazing and very horseradish forward, which is my preference unfortunately the batter on the fish fell off and the fish itself didn't seem seasoned so the flavor was lacking. I think it would be worth revamping their offerings a bit but absolutely a cool spot and I'd go again!

I got the house margarita for $5.50 and then I also got an L pastor taco for five dollars as well as the fresh chips and also for $1 dollar. I'm not sure you can beat this pricing for happy hours after work!! A gentleman behind the bar is very knowledgeable about his menu and what is on the happy hour menu. The ambience in here feels like a mom and pop Spanish restaurant. They have a patio lighting as well as a really cool mural. They have some use of reclaimed wood and different types of furniture. I haven't gotten my food yet, but I like this vibe. It's very chill and relaxed. They have all of their tequilas out behind the bar so you can see which ones they have. The only downside is the way they taste has their drinks to make sure they're the correct tasting wise. The gentleman in the baseball cap and the other gentleman pour the drink onto the back of their hand, and then put their hands in their mouth to taste the drink and I feel like they could just do the straw method because what if their fingers that they're using to shake your drink with I just it's kind of like disgusting to watch. 10/10 Definitely returning for the drinks and sitting at a table next time!!!
