Wow! First time trying this place. I had it DoorDashed after a long day, and normally I always give grace for DoorDash orders as it's never as fresh as dining in. My meal is INCREDIBLE, even after a long 10 mile drive. The Pad Thai has so much flavor and the peanut sauce is delicious. Tom Kha is my all time favorite soup, but it's typically a hit or miss for me at different restaurants, this one is my favorite I think I have ever tried! This is our second time to Ruan Thai in the last two months and it's been great each time. It's quiet enough that you can talk with friends and the staff/service has been excellent. The Masaman curry sauce is just perfect with lots of flavor. If you want your food spicy then stress that you want it as spicy as they can make it. There is no con in this review. First time trying this restaurant on a rainy Friday night. Ambiance was nice with relaxing instrumental music playing. Spacious and comfortable dining room. Two servers were kind and attentive. Guided us with the pepper rating for heat and spiciness of dishes. Different than what we have experienced with Thai restaurants in New England but very tasty. Nice presentation on both dishes with artistic cut vegetables to garnish the dish. Lights could have been a little lower and softer for evening meals. Visited this restaurant when we went to Hilton Head Island. Overall experience wasn't that great. Ambience was good- spacious and clean. Service was a bit slow - the manager at the front was a bit rude, but our server was friendly. Taste was average. We ordered the steamed Dumplings, which were really good, but Panang curry wasn't very flavorful, even when we did medium spicy. The food was not the best Thai food I ever had. The meat had no seasoning, the chicken satay was not grilled it was flat on an iron . Very small portions meat in the dinner plates. Had a disappointing lunch experience here today. I ordered Thai Basil Chicken and received beef instead. She offered to change it and, to be nice and prevent an issue for the waitress, I accepted the beef instead. It was not enjoyable. The beef was tough and not hot, and, not as spicy as I had requested, However, I did get extra basil as I requested. The extra basil, with no mention of extra charge at the time of order, was 3 leaves of basil At checkout, I was then told there was a $2 up charge for that extra basil. in summary , the food is very average Thai cuisine. I had been coming here for about a year, rationalizing that it was OK for an area that has almost NO decent Asian restaurants to choose from . However, with the added features of poor customer service , a bad attitude, and paying $ 2 for 3 1/2 inch basil leaves, I think it's time to find a better Thai alternative. If you want a satisfying $40 Thai lunch experience, you might want to keep looking. read more

I was brought here as a surprise lunch, recommended by many people and equally favorited as a regular place to grab a bite. The menu was interesting with choices, even including some interesting spins on sushi. I ended up choosing tofu fried rice, and was pleasantly surprised. A nice explosion of color, covered elegantly with shredded vegetables.The flavor was sweeter than Chinese fried rice, with a massive portion that was further surprisingly easily eaten. Birthday dinning do reservations were made on Saturday for a Monday night dinner. Party of 7 at 630 PM. Excellent service and beautiful presentation of food. I forgot to get photos of appetizers but they were very good as well. Not a restaurant that most can visit on a regular night as meals are costly approximately $27 each plus appetizers and drinks, our bill was almost $300. Alcohol is not their specialty ,two of our party ordered and both said that they would not order again. In the defence of the restaurant, our party ordered a margarita ( why a margarita in a Thia restaurant...i have no idea) .. and cranberry and vodka Definitely a special night out location or for a couple looking for a quiet place for a nice dinner,this is your location. I am so grateful to be able to have my fix of chicken pad thai. I moved to this area from California, where pad thai is extremely common and can be found on every block. Though the prices are higher than pad thai in California and other states with busy cities, please remember that this is the only place to get pad thai in Bluffton. For it to be the only place I can get it, I really don't mind spending more than what I am used to. It's the give or take of it all. I am just glad I don't have to drive all the way to Savannah for my Thai food fix. The employees of the restaurant are always so sweet and kind to me. I came in for a take-out order right before closing and felt extremely welcomed and the woman was very sweet. The food was very flavorful and I enjoyed every bite of it. While seeing these mixed reviews, a lot of them based on price, please remember that they are the only Thai place in Bluffton and their restaurant is on the fancy side. Do not let it deter you from trying them out. I suggest trying the chicken pad thai with a thai iced tea. Also, the lunch menu has more affordable, delicious options. read more

I have so been looking forward to trying this place. I think I tried the wrong thing but I won't be back. We ordered the grilled calamari and each had a Thai salad, one shrimp and one trout. While the flavor on all of it was good they were the smallest portions I've ever had. Ever. There was two tiny salads and the calamari....50$. No papaya salad offered. I thought all Thai places had some basics. Not this one. Left hungry, and looking at other reviews we aren't the only ones. My husband and I picked up food from here last night. I had a real craving for some Pad Thai. Someone recommended this little place. They were near closing time. It's a really cute place inside, wouldn't mind going back to dine in. We ordered spring rolls, dumplings and shrimp pad Thai. It was all delicious. I'm discovering that this little town of Bluffton that we have moved to, has some great places to eat. We were so happy! Every time I go to a Thai restaurant I have to order the Pad Thai with Shrimp and the coconut Shrimp. Well the Coconut Shrimp were really oily, the taste was heavy, and the Shrimp were very strong, without the sweet and spicy sauce I probably would have not ate them. The Pad Thai was with shrimps and as well this had a really strong taste, never in my life had taste shrimp like this. The egg was burned and if it wasn't because of the lemon it would not had any taste. I wasn't able to eat that much. The place is nice and the servers are with the good Thai charm. Around the corner frim UPS store. My friend took me here, I had never had Thai. It was outstanding. We had, fresh rolls, spring rolls, Massaman curry and Pad Thai. The flavors were wonderful. I don't like super spicy, so the host suggested this curry. Not at all line Indian curry, it was sweet and tasty. Very fresh, super friendly service. Outside service only as of 12/13/2020. I love good Pad Thai. I have only eaten the pad thai here about 5 times and I like it but the noodles they use are not my personal favorite. They're good, I just prefer a thicker noodle. The staff is friendly and helpful, the menu looks great. I will need to try more dishes when I come in or get take out but if you're craving pad thai this certainly works for me. read more

People who serve are nice -good people worth mentioning are Rae-Ann, Dante and Kim. They are awesome and great people. Kim works only part time or certain days. They make the Veggie Fried rice really nice. They are good at providing the directions also, since GPS and google maps can drop you at a different place on the same shopping complex. It is on the same place Kroger shopping is there.It is like a strip mall or shopping mall. The Bar is awesome place to sit down and very quiet and nice. Lunch with my nieces was a real treat and helped give them some exposure to new dining experiences. They're working on being adventurous diners and seemed to enjoy what they ordered (shrimp fried rice and shrimp garden noodles). I loved what I had, and we appreciated the attentiveness of the staff. Very pretty dining area and pleasant atmosphere, too. I was a little surprised that the kids' requested veggie substitution I'd asked about in advance and was told we could do was totaled up as additional veggies instead. I wish this had been explained to us by the server. I wouldn't have pushed for *quite* as many added greens if I'd known it would cost so much added green. read more
