Absolutely spectacular. Such a sweet lady, and was very helpful for my wedding dress. And she was insanely affordable.

Brides DO NOT TAKE YOUR DRESS TO THIS woman! My $2k dress was absolutely sabotaged. It only needed hemmed up and bustled and the gal literally only cut the front of my dress from one design seam to the other and it made the whole appearance of my dress change and gave it corners which now it doesn't sit right. Not to mention the fact that my train is no longer in tact and the busily loops don't even fit over the bustle buttons. One of the bustle loops only goes through one part of the train. I did call and she insisted I bring it back to her but I'm afraid she did enough damage. Plus she knew my father was ill and I was going to lose him before the wedding even though we planned this wedding solely for him to be able to walk me down the aisle. Unfortunately I lost my dad a few days ago and I have not had the emotional capacity to deal with the dress, especially knowing that she has had this business for a very long time and she should know how to hem up a wedding dress since that's what her profession is. my honest feeling is that she was trying to half ass the job thinking that I would not notice since I was so occupied with my father and spending every last moment with him possible. I am absolutely devastated that she trashed my dress. I luckily was smart enough to take photos directly after picking the dress up from her so they have timestamps and I can prove that this is how I picked the dress up from her. And fortunately there was no seamstresses or alterations place that could fit my dress in before the wedding so I have to walk down the aisle like this . Although I did not notice, how butchered it was until trying it on days later from pick up. I cannot believe that someone who owns and runs a business in wedding dress alterations and dress alterations could do this to a bride, especially not a bride who's losing their father. She must've thought my mind was going to be elsewhere and I would not notice.. I absolutely would not recommend taking anything to her. I wouldn't even give her one star if that was an option. Where do I start... Terrible communication from Linda! Numerous stains on most of the items I had her make (All Satin). She owes me $235.00 for a pair of pants she lost, then blames me for bringing to her when she didn't need them. About to take legal action!! DO NOT GO TO HER!!! read more

I would give minus 10 stars if I could. I needed to get my wedding dress altered. She said she could do it. We spoke via text. I show up with my positive attitude, an old dress I hadn't seen for 10 years and my daughter. She was extremely rude to me in front of my daughter as well as implying that she may not do it and everyone else is booked up. I've never been married before just engaged for 10 years. She didn't tell me to bring my shoes or the bra I'd wear maybe it was common sense but I just didn't know. She scolded me for it and was like well you need to bring those and we'll have to make another appointment. Her vibe was I was bothering her. Way to crush my dream in an 5 minute conversation. I've never had such a terrible experience. I don't know how anyone enjoys interacting with her. She is short with an attitude when she speaks to you. Like why?? Why ruin people's day?? And my big day to be exact. I was in such tears the evening after I left my dress I ended up just getting a new one and walking on eggshells until I could get my other one I've nostalgically held on too for so many years hoping it was not being damaged. I did get it back untouched no shady bill or anything so at least she's not all bad just not a nice person. read more

There seems to be a lot of gas lighting going on with the responses from Linda, so my review will be facts only. -there were numerous stains that i found on the my wedding dress that i found on my dress the day of my wedding (of which i have photos of) i didn't notice them in the dim lighting of her shop at the final fitting. -she put pads in place to hold up the structure of the dress. But the pads didn't do anything other than show at the neckline of my dress. -the neckline that she adjusted was fairly sloppy and you could see the thread when looking at it. Probably would've looked better if it wasn't touched. -my mother was a seamstress and noticed that the slip that was adjusted by Linda was entirely crooked. -her shop was fairly dirty and was most likely the cause of all of the stains on my dress. -the buttons were sewn on pretty crooked and i regret asking for them to be put on -the sleeves that had to be sewn together looking pretty good. (Other than the buttons) -when my now husband went in to fit his jacket, she said "oh I was expecting you to be bigger", to him. Implying that since i am a plus size women she assumed he would be plus size as well. -i had to go in about 5 different time, because of things she had forgotten. My opinion: I thought that everything was just fine but after paying 250+ dollars and after 5 trips (to adjusting things we had already discussed) this was a fairly bad experience. Please please please do not no let this women touch your wedding dress. She seems like she know what she's doing but the end result will not make you feel good on your wedding day. Just because "you will be the only person that notices" all the flaws on your dress doesn't mean it is okay that they're there. I was so horrified the night before/morning of my wedding to find all these issues. I literally had to take a knife to my dress to cute this crappy make shift padding she unnecessarily add during my first look so that it wouldn't show in my pictures and so I didn't need to keep adjusting my dress over and over again. Such a complete disappointment. Work was subpar, and I'm upset at myself for not trusting my gut on this one. And the passive aggressive comments were possibly un-intended but still completely unprofessional. read more

NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE I don't normally write reviews, good or bad. But I don't want any other brides to have to go through what I did. I went to A Sewing Shoppe to get my wedding dress hemmed. My first fitting went so well and I was super confident about how my dress was going to turn out! She suggested a bustle because the train is super heavy and it be taken in and seemed like she knew what she was talking about! However the second time I went back, I noticed some stains on my dress and I brought it up and she said she would take care of it and not to worry. The third time I went back, they were still there and she hadn't done the bustle yet (mind you we had discussed me picking it up this time). The fourth time I went back, she told me she couldn't figure out the bustle so I tried it on again and she pinned it. The FIFTH time I finally got to pick it up. I brought it home and noticed there were still the stains and what looks like scuff marks. Also it looked as if she had tried to remove some stains however now there is a ring around where the stains were. I also noticed she used some of the buttons along the back of my dress for my bustle and replaced them with ones that aren't even remotely close. I took it to a dry cleaners and they noticed that on the under layers, she didn't even finish the hem!!! Luckily, they also do alterations so they can fix it. So not only did I spend $150 for her to mess up my dress, I now have to pay more than that to get it fixed. read more

I brought in pants and a skirt that were too large, but great quality. I had my fussy son and the owner was so kind and brought out toys for him while she helped me. They were ready quickly and the tailoring is perfection. I can't recommend highly enough! read more

Linda just simply butchered my silk robe. Made sleeves from pieces and the whole thing is awe full. She is far from being professional. She never mentioned that there was not enough fabric so she made my item from pieces. She even doubted that I have real silk. I took my robe and told her that I will find someone to finish it. She slaamed her doors in anger! There no one can finish the robe because it's ruined. Please don't trust your nice fabrics to her. Terrible experience. read more

Linda was great! I went in with a wedding dress that would not zip three weeks before my wedding and she did multiple fittings and did all sorts of alterations on a very detailed dress! Amazingly priced for the amount of work that had to be done including adding material to the sides, darts in the bust, altering a corset, dropping the bust and a lot more! read more

Terrible customer service. Linda has never been warm and fuzzy but she has gotten downright cranky the last couple times I have been in. I dropped a skirt off a couple months ago and finally called because I had not heard anything. She told me they called and told me it was ready. I said I never received a call and she then began to argue with me that it was on the "called rack" and it wouldn't have made it on there if they hadn't called. I guess their customer service mantra is to take no blame and certainly the customer is not right. She was still rude when I went in to pick it up but I decided to pay and not engage. Go elsewhere, they don't deserve your business. read more

I went to A Sewing Shoppe for a bridesmaid dress alternation, as it was a little big. Linda suggested I have pads sewn into the bust, which I agreed to. She charged me about $80 dollars (for the pads and to take it up a bit in length), which I thought was very expensive. When I tried the dress on after picking it up, I could not get it zipped, because the pads were so large. I had to cut the pads out of the dress just to make it wearable. When I called and left her a voicemail explaining what happened, I never heard back. Very disappointing experience. read more

I went in to get a bridesmaid dress altered and was hoping to get some straps put on it. Instead the woman told me it would be easy to make a jacket. So I went and purchased the material and she took my measurements. I came back for my fitting and the dress was still huge and the jacket was far from finished. She said it would be ready in a week then called me the morning of saying she couldn't find it. I was leaving town so I said I needed it right away. I came to pick up and the jacket was terrible it looked thrown together and wasn't even on both sides, after spending $160 I ended up wearing a sweater I had in my closet because it looked better. Have never wrote a review ever, but felt I needed to after my experience with Linda and A Sewing Shoppe. Dropped by with a leather purse and some purchased material to see if some interior pockets could be sewn. Could tell by her attitude that she didn't really know if could be done, and she wasn't thrilled to do it. Fine, just say not really her thing, sorry, maybe someone else can do it. But she took it and said a couple weeks. One month later- nothing. I called and she said sorry blah, blah but by 'next week'. Another 3 weeks - nothing. So just dropped by and picked up the purse and material. No apology, no explanation. Told her - 2 months, no phone call, no explanation, you didn't want to do it why take it. "I didn't mean to hurt your feelings". Whaaat?? Worst business owner attitude I've ever encountered, and believe me I'm very pro-business. One star only because I have to. read more

Don't go here! Keep searching! I went and put my dress on the first one and she was somewhat pleasant. She told us it would be around 100. First fitting my mom paid 100. Second fitting she paid another 100 and I was told when I came to get the dress, I would try it on to make sure the bustle was in the right place. I went in for my 3rd fitting and pick up and it was in the bag. My mom took my dress to be steamed and they called her and told her telling her they did the best they could but there were so many sewing pins and safety pins that it made it difficult. My dress had NOT been altered!!!! And there was no bustle. My mom had to take it back and sit there while she altered it....less than 48 hours before I was supposed to walk down the aisle. Saturday I put my dress on for the wedding and the bearing of my dress had not been placed back on properly, it was tacked up to make it look like it was done. The beads were coming off. The dress was not the right length. It was still way too long. There was no bustle. The rubbing of the dress was not placed back properly from alterations so it was all digging in. Do not go here for any alterations, this was a disaster. read more

Keep searching and go elsewhere!!! If ZERO stars were an option, thats what I would rate this business. She was great during the first fitting of my daughters WEDDING DRESS. It was downhill from there. We paid $100 at the first fitting. Went back for the 2nd fitting paid another $100. We were told at 2nd fitting that she would try it on when she picked it up, When she got there was told no, she was just taking the dress. I then took the dress to be steamed the week of the wedding. They called me from where it was being steamed and said, "we did the best we could but with so many alteration pins and safety pins it was difficult. " i went to get the dress only to find out that the alterations i paid $200 for had NOT been done!!! I had to take it back to the sewing shop and have it done while i waited. This is on Thursday before the Saturday wedding! My daughter put the dress on the day of her wedding only to find out that the beading around the waistline had not been reattached, and the alterations had not been done properly.
