I had a suit pant that had one hem fall out. I called Duc's tailors to make sure he they were open- he answered the phone quickly and let me know they're open. I drove down and walked in. The place is incredibly packed with clothes all over the place. Duc looked up and I showed him my pant hem. He took one look and walked away. He proceeded to fix my hem and steam press the hem afterwards. All this was done in less than 5 minutes and the best part is he didn't charge me. That was huge customer service!! I have known Duc over 30 years. His shop is messy because he spends his time working his craft, which is evident by the many items that circulate through his shop. Beware of a skinny chef and a tidy tailor. He is very good at what he does. English is his third language--his first is spoken with results using needle and thread. To those that take issue with his accent--how is your Vietnamese? However, he understands English quite well. If he is rude to you, you might want to listen to your words and tone. But please, by all means, go elsewhere so he has more time to continue to deliver the results that those of us who appreciate him gratefully receive. read more

Duc does really good work at a fair price, and it seems to be invisible. And I have to take the 2018 one-star review by Tye H. with many grains of salt. The price you paid for a dress has nothing to do with the work you want done to make it better, and what does the fact that your "girls are Vietnamese" have to do with anything? I don't have spidey-sense, but if I did I might be getting an "Entitled Twit Alert" about now. And yes, Duc's place is messy. Completely rude and ridiculous service! Took a dress in for an estimate on a hem, and he wanted $50! About damn near the cost of my dress.. so I said maybe I'll be back, and he says.. "You wasted my time, and if you take it now, then just take it to someone else!" I was appalled! What business says that to their customer! I am all about supporting small local business but Duc doesn't deserve a dime. Especially when your in a small town like Spokane, I will make sure everybody knows and they will because my girls are Vietnamese! read more

Doc and his wife have always been a pleasure to work with! His quality of work is impeccable. He his one of Spokane's true hidden gems. We've had suits, denim pants, jackets etc tailored and we've had no problem! If something isn't fitting just right he'll fix it without a hassle! I took my tuxedo jacket in and Mr. Duc measured only my right arm length for the sleeves. When I got the jacket and put it on with a white shirt I noticed that the sleeves did not match. I have always had both arms measured separately and got a great fit, but Mr. Duc only measured the one side. read more

I lived in Spokane for several months and tried a number of different local tailors - and will never take my clothes anywhere else now that I have been here! Their store is a little cluttered (understatement), but he and his wife always know exactly where my clothes are when I come to pick them up. I have gone to Duc for all my tailoring for at least the last twenty years. He does outstanding work for a reasonable price. From altering chiffon and satin prom dresses for my daughters, to taking in the waist on jeans, to a simple hem, his work, like any very professional tailor's, is completely invisible. Tried this place recently when I needed some pants tailored. Quick service, had the pants done in a week. Do not expect to be called when they are done, it seems like you are responsible of remembering and picking up your own stuff. Very basic service so know what you want tailored, speak up for your desires but affordable. The shop is very small and disheveled but the owner is kind. I will be going back again when I have tailoring needs in the future. read more

This place is top notch! Mr. Duc did so well on my husband's tuxedo I would trust him with anything. I sew myself but could not handle such a precise type of alteration. He fitted the coat exactly to my husband's body, who is generally hard to fit as he is a small. Very impressed. He has also altered several dress shirts for him that I can see with my experience were complicated. I do not hold any stock in the negative review here. after reading all the good review on this place. i have to say this place sucks. went in to get my wedding dress fitted, Duc didn't even measure what needed to be done, he saw that it was too small on me and decided to take 2 inches out on both sides. He said the dress will be done by next week, when i went in there the following week, the dress wasn't finish (he didn't even start on it yet) told me to come back the following week and i did, the dress was still not done. told me to come back again in a week (this time i made sure to call them first before wasting my gas). when i try on the dress it was too big on me. i was VERY DISAPPOINTED, they told me not to lose any more weight so the dress would still fit me. What a joke! This place was a waste of time and $50 dollars. could have went to a different place to get it done for less and more mature about when the dress will be done. will never go there again. read more
