I really don't like to give poor reviews. But I need to do that today. The Stitchery on Regal is…read morethe minimized shop formerly operating as Regal Fabrics and Gifts. I was interested in the long arm quilting service. I looked into the shop first before bringing 3 quilt tops in. The shop is filled with many many custom quilted and embroidered quilts which are lovely. However, they were not quilted by the owner of this shop on her machine. Pretty display, but misleading. I should have paid attention to that detail. When I received my 3 quilts, I was pretty devastated by one of them and very disappointed in the other two. The one had quilting that overlapped and also butted up against the previous row. The backing had a rather large area that was very buckled. I had to hand stitch those down. The large buckles were 9" and 10" long respectively. Plus 4 other areas with 4-5" buckles. A substantial mess and undertaking to try to make this quilt usable. Another quilt had cuddle backing that another master quilter said had been stretched slightly during quilting which resulted in a puffy top. (Once the quilt is removed from the bars, the backing goes back [i.e. shrinks] to its original size which causes the top to puff between the quilting stitches.) The owner tried to say it was my fault because my seams weren't straight and the top wasn't flat. Both untrue as I am a longtime quilter and a confessed perfectionist and I have NEVER had this issue with a quilt in over 20 years. All the quilts had the excess fabric & batting trimmed. Unfortunately she trimmed into the quilt top. Not a lot, but changed the edge enough on a borderless quilt that points were buried in the binding. Big no no for me. I'm giving her 2 stars instead of 1 star because she did refund me the amount I paid for the actual stitching only on all 3 quilts. A more conscientious owner would have refunded the entire amount paid. All fellow quilters know the amount of money, time, love, perfection, and sometimes agony that goes into every precious quilt top. Machine quilters are not all equal! There are lovely machine quilters out there that devote their time and expertise to give you a final product worthy of all the effort you poured into the top. Heartbeat Quilting is one. Just sayin' !!

I have been coming here for a few months and now believe I should NOT have based my previous 5-star…read morereview off a quick first visit. Subsequent shopping trips have not been pleasant, and I'm just sick of the uppity attitudes here. Even though I consistently make pretty decent purchases, I was recenot treated well at all. Rude, short words and a hurry up and get out attitude. Icy, really, and by (someone I believe to be the owner?) at that. I really don't understand this treatment, but I'm honestly not going to worry about it. I just won't be back to shop and will gladly take my business elsewhere. Likely online or just a few more minutes up the road in Spokane Valley. I also recently had two quilts quilted using their new longarm service, and found a lot of horrible mistakes on both the back and front of these quilts (that are gifts). Please see attached photos. These are obviously not able to be redone. Their machine quilting experience is obviously too new to be decent. Last time I was in the shop, the computerized machine was sewing along unmonitored on autopilot. So very likely personal attention to detail is not on their priority list. Sad when working with handmade items that mean so much to the people bringing them in and trusting them to take the utmost care and respect. For a shop that never seems to have anyone else shopping in there every time I visit, they sure aren't winning any repeat customers treating customers or their beautiful handmade work so carelessly. Very disappointing and honestly? Very irresponsible.
