Let's start with me walking in without an appointment the day before Mother's Day, I had 0 expectations as I figured they would be completely booked, but to my surprise they had an opening due to a last min. cancellation. A little about me, last haircut I got was over a year ago. I had no idea what I wanted nor the different styling terms . I have never colored my hair, I barely style it on a daily basis and I just had a baby so I was beyond lost. I go here for both haircuts and color. I LOVE them! Aaron cuts my hair, and I am so glad I found him. You can truly trust him to do exactly what you want, and also, he will not tHe too much off if you are trying to grow your hair out, even if it desperately needs to be cut. Kristy colors my hair, and WOW, she knows her color! I have come in after being gone for a while (I wasn't able to use this salon for a long time until I moved back), and my hair was JACKED UP! Kristy got that color fixed like it was nothing. She has always made my hair look good. I don't even worry or try to ask for anything anymore, I just go in and tell her to just do whatever she thinks, because I know, without ANY shadow of a doubt that it will be gorgeous. I always leave happy! Keratin! WHEEEEEE!! Kristy also gives the BEST keratin!!! They also carry a good keratin product. My first was a Coppola, not the one w formaldehyde, but the newer one. I visited Nisa at Toni & Guy for the first time today, and she gave me a very cute modern bob today that I am very pleased with! Would definitely recommend her to others, and I will be returning. I came in with my hair somewhat frizzy and grown out. I hadn't had a cut in about 4 months. I had a general idea of what I wanted - angled up in the back, side bangs, keep length in the front - and Nisa did a great job of asking questions and giving me a haircut that looked how I wanted and was very flattering on me. Additionally, I had just gotten a new ear cartilage piercing the day before. I mentioned at the beginning of our consult that it was a bit tender, and Nisa paid special attention throughout our appointment to avoid bumping it while she washed, cut, and styled my hair. Efficient, creative, excellent stylists and solid service make for a great experience that's worth paying more for. I LOVE Toni & Guy. They'll happily do anything from natural blonde highlights to purple hair in a Mohawk - and it's great. I typically see Sheila, who just moved here from the Northpoint Mall location. Her cuts are meticulous and she's lovely. I pay $75 and I never regret it - the styles even look good long after they've grown out. This was my first time seeing her at this location since her move and I was pleased to see that this salon maintains the same level of quality as the other T&G. I haven't gotten color done here yet, so I'll update the review when I do, but I'm really pleased after a cut and blowout. I've never had a hair cut where the 'stylist' cuts all of my hair across AT THE SAME TIME. Literally. I'm used to stylist clipping a bit at a time... in segments. So I'm a first timer to toni&guy and I'll never in my life let them do my hair unless Claudia is cutting my hair (she's slayed my layers!). I walk in for my appt. at 1pm on Saturday and sit in the chair to start. I show the colorist exactly what I wanted which was a dark color with red tint in it that shows vibrantly in the sunlight. She said she'll have to lighten up some pieces so the color will take on the darker parts and she then proceeded on the process, finished with the coloring, and told me to sit in a chair with foil in my hair for about 35 minutes. I then went to the sink to rinse everything and the rinse out was literally 5-10 seconds long. When she was done she said it took well. Then finished haircut and everything...blah blah...when my hair was done the color wasn't what I wanted because it had a bunch of random blonde spots. She told me to come back to fix it so I said I'd come back that Monday. I spent 4 hours there, came in at 1 and left at 4! I came back that Monday and the process was the same, she even rinsed it for 5-10 seconds again (which doesn't seem right). After blow drying my hair the color was perfect....until I go home. I washed my hair the next day and literally without exaggeration, it looked like a murder scene in my white tub. A thick blood red color came completely out as if I had just got done coloring my own hair and rinsed all of the dye out. I wrapped my hair and my towel was now red. Now, my hair is completely faded out after 5 days and washing my hair twice (which bled a lot the second time as well). I told them I was completely unsatisfied and wanted a refund after telling the whole experience I had to them and the only thing they said was we can fix it at no charge. That's like going to get your car fixed at a shop and they mess it up twice and saying they'll fix it for free the third time. Uh, no....I don't want them touching my hair again. I want my money back (which they're fighting to not to give my money back, the manager keeps saying it's not up to him and it's only up to the owner) WHATS THE POINT OF HAVING A MANAGER THERE IF THEY CANT MAKE THOSE DECISIONS THEMSELVES?! I'm completely livid and I will fight this until I get my refund. I've already made an appt. with Van Michael salon for them to fix this disaster (which I should've never tried someone new). *****************UPDATE******************* I spoke with the person who told me he's "just a manager" after calling him since I never got that call back I was supposed to get Monday. Turns out, he's not "just a manager" he's part owner as well...so that was a lie. I asked for my update and he basically said After the negative reviews you made about us on social media he feels as if the damage is already done. First of all, the damage was already done on my hair! The phone lost service when I entered the elevator arriving at work so I called back and ask for the person above him for his phone number and name. I call the number and ask for him and they ended up getting my name and number for a call back. That was around 1pm, just now (8:00) I get my call from the other owner and I told him everything I've been dealing with from the moment I walk through their doors. He said, "well, after talking with members of the staff, Aaron (the "manager"), and seeing all your negative remarks on social media I won't be giving you a refund. That's the moment I got mad and explained again what happened, and said exactly, "so basically what you're saying is you either keep your customers or either it's just fuck them?" Then he changed the subject and flipped it onto the language I used (which I didn't say "fuck you", I said so basically it's "fuck the customers if they don't stay with you") he tried so hard to flip it around on me because of my one curse word. I put the entire story on God, on my son, and on everything I love...I was very polite and understanding in the beginning, but after 3 days of getting the run around and finding out I was lied to about the manager lying about his position...yes, I indeed got mad that LAST time I spoke with Aaron and as soon as Barker told me I won't get my full refund on the color job. read more

Not all Toni & Guy are the same!! I left very sad and disappointed! I didn't even get a haircut!! My appointment was for 11:00am. I am a loyal Toni & Guy client but in Houston, TX in the Galleria Mall. I fell in love with Toni & Guy since meeting my best friend's dad in Texas while going through Optometry School. He is so passionate about hair and expressed how Toni & Guy was unlike any other places he's trained. because they had their own technique and style that they teach their stylist. I showed up and checked at about 10:55am. The receptionist kindly told me she will let "Shandra" know that I am here. I went to the ladies room and afterwards sat patiently in the waiting area. I NEVER hAd to wait more than 5 minutes before the stylist came to introduce himself to me at my previous experiences in Houston. I literally sat there for 20 minutes after my appointment. I can see the receptionist going back and forth talking to another guy (probably the stylist in charge?) saying something along the line that she messaged someone and no one is here yet. Seriously?? I'm so disappointed. I knew in my heart when I made the initial appointment of going only with an Art Director vs my usual Creative Director that I may be taking a chance with my haircut. I'm very particular. I am usually BIG on professionalism and punctuality. I just kindly stood up and told the receptionist that apparently my stylist isn't even here yet. So i just want to cancel. At first, I had my doubts about Toni & Guys just because it's located in a busy mall, so I assumed that service would be mediocre. But I was wrong! From the front desk to the Hair stylist..everyone is so friendly! I came in 1 hour early to confirm my hair appointment and continued shopping...about 30 minutes later they called saying my hair stylist was in and she could take me. I met Sam, a Hair Director. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she immediately knew what to do. She was not pushy on any particular style and made sure I was comfortable with the length she proposed. She was very outgoing! I loved talking to her and the time went by so fast, I didn't even realize when she was done with my hair. I was completely satisfied with my haircut and I will definately go back! The price for a level 3 or 4 hair stylist was $60 and it was worth it! I came in, pretty unsure of what kind of cut I wanted, but she helped me decide along the way. I informed her from the start that I had bad experiences at asian hair salons (because they always make me look so fobby), so she did her best and it came out great! kudos to her for dealing with my indecisiveness as well! didn't get anything drastic, but maybe next time I might get it done a little shorter. If you're looking for a new stylist, ask for Barker! Talented, professional, friendly, and easy to talk to are qualities that I look for in a stylist and that's what I found in Barker. I've been going to Barker for about a year now and I have recommended him to some family members and they too are now repeat clients! Depending on your budget his rate may seem high, but he is definitely worth the few extra $$ if you are finicky about your haircuts. And if you're looking for an awesome colorist, ask for Chistina Marie. She is highly experienced, super nice, and very helpful in guiding you to achieve the look that you want. I like coming to this particular Toni and Guy because I like Perimeter Mall. The vibe here is hip and relaxed yet professional. Not at all snooty. Priscilla is an absolutely amazing colorist... Her highlights are some of the best I've ever had... Not to mention she has an awesome personality, and if I am going to spend a couple of hours with someone, I want to enjoy their company! I very highly recommend her. Kiah did a wonderful job fixing a previous bad hair cut (from another salon). She was also really informative of how to style my hair the way she did... Something that most stylists do not do. I called to make an appointment and Serena was so helpful in helping me select a stylist within my budget who could do the job I needed done well - I went from ultra long hair to a medium/short style. My stylist was Ashley and she was AWESOME - so friendly and she gave me an EXCELLENT cut! I highly recommend Ashley! I DO NOT recommend Emma - she was rude to the receptionist in front of customers - Emma came across as a miserable bully - Very unprofessional - she should be ashamed of herself. I should have said something, but it was such blatant bullying that it caught me off guard because you just don't expect to see that happening in a professional place of business. DANA, DANA, DANA! I highly recommend this stylist. She is a true artist of hair. This was, hands down, the best cut and style I have gotten...maybe ever. She is very talented--taking time to make sure everything is done well, yet she is efficient too. Not only did she get the layers and shape of my hair just right, she is a pro at blow outs! What a great job she did. I am a mom of two babies (2 year old and 8 month old) and honestly I haven't felt pretty or confident in my "look" for a while (I don't have time!!). Raymond does a fantastic job cutting my thick, wavy hair. I asked him to maintain my length but to add some layers to lighten it up (weight-wise), and he definitely accomplished that. My hair now curls again, whereas before it was collapsing under its own weight. The difference is amazing! It also looks really cute when I style it straight. I have been working with Nisa at Toni & Guy for 12 years - followed her from the North Point location to Perimeter when she switched years ago. I wouldn't want anyone else touching my hair! I get the BEST haircuts from her. I recently asked her to also do the Keratin smoothing treatment and I love it. She explained everything to me ahead of time - including the difference between the straighteners other salons use and the smoother that T&G uses. I get my haircut from Zehra since last year and she does what is asked for. I have sometime miscommunicated on what I want, and had tad bit of unpleasant cut, but that's not her fault. She does good when I let her do something on her own. :) She is great. But I have had problem with hair coloring(full highlight) by Priscilla.. the highlights were not separated properly. it was bland flat and the color was not what I asked for.. she did a second session after I called them but she just put more red to the color which didnt help the flat highlighted portion to be spreader out.. I don't think she cared to understand the requirement and it was not executed with proper care..Waiting for my hair to grow quickly to get out of the disaster. read more

Get Anna, she's amazing! She first listens to what you want done with your hair and then recommends what she thinks will work well with the shape of your face. The first time, she made the angled long bob I asked for and though it did take a while to finish (I have really thick hair), it was so worth it! It was my favorite haircut! Second time I asked for a layered cut with bangs because I wanted to keep my hair long for the winter and she recommended to just get shorter layers than actual bangs because that's what works best with my oval face. Aaron is a phenomenal hairstylist. I have such a fear of haircuts and trying new stylists that my hair usually grows really long and gross and then gets messed up again. This time, things were different. First off, I made my appointment for the wrong day, but Aaron kindly worked me in between two of his clients on a very busy day. Secondly, you can immediately tell he knows exactly what he is doing. Everything he said while examining my hair was on point. I gave him my trust and the result was better than I could've imagined. He talked me through his entire process and reasoning for everything he was doing. Overall, my experience was a relaxing and pleasant one. I felt welcomed and at ease the whole time. This is not a review on the facility or someone I have had necessarily. This review is in regards to a scene I witnessed while getting my hair colored. A woman came in with her special needs son who was in a wheel chair. He was barely able to move his hands/arms. The mom wanted to get his hair cut. He wasn't happy with getting his hair cut but clearly needed it done. The mom was holding his hand. He would cry every 20 seconds or so. The Toni and guy employee was a middle aged woman with long dirty blonde hair and didn't come off as the friendliest person. She buzzed it once then put a really short clipper on to do it once more. Honestly it sucked to see him upset but it wouldn't last long and he wasn't hurt. Then half way through the employee got up making a scene saying she couldn't finish it, that she had to hold his head and she wasn't doing that to him anymore. The Toni and guy employee was making a scene in front of everyone. Most of the women just felt bad for the mom. She just wanted her sons hair cut real quick. It's not a easy task but I would rather try to help than make her feel like her and her child are unwanted...in front of everyone. She left the child with a crappy hair cut and just kept saying I can't do it, no charge, no charge. She was so rude and handled the situation so poorly. She left the mother sitting there with her son (who had calmed down) and went in the back. The employee didn't resurface until the woman had left. My heart goes out to the mom. Life is probably not the easiest with a special needs child but then to be put on display that way and not helped. That breaks my heart. Everyone (other employees and clients) were shocked and the scene we all saw. Toni and guy needs to reach out to that woman and apologize for that treatment. Then fix the jacked up haircut you left on that young boy. Bed side manners need to be fixed quick or leave the industry ASAP. read more

The artists at the perimeter mall have a lot of talent and their cuts are distinctive. I have thick, wavy hair, and my cut or style has always come out masterfully. I would follow her to the ends of the earth before I let someone else touch my hair. I've jumped around with a few other stylist here before I met Anna, and I must say I prefer Anna over the others. (one lady seemed like she was taking her aggression out on my poor hair, way to rough and hurt horribly) Anna is very considerate of your requests and also gentle with your hair, she truly respects the client's wishes which is hard to find these days. I checked the night before, and it looked like I had a shot at getting a walk-in appointment. And for #2, I did, I just waited (and shopped) for a half hour and then got right in. My stylist, Sam, spent a good deal of time understanding and working with me, and my particular desires for successful bangs.
