4 years ago: I got estimates from Mark and Co and 2 other suppliers. I hired Mark and Co because…read morethey were the lowest bid. Then they told me that they "forgot" to include one of the windows. They could not do the job for the quoted price, but they would do it for the price on the next lowest bid. So was this an honest mistake or a scheme to get the job at the best possible price? Incompetent or dishonest? I would be interested to know if anyone else had the same experience. Installers were dirty, poorly dressed, did not appear to know what they were doing. Left black fingerprints all over all of the interior walls. A year later I had to recaulk most of the windows. Co-owner Dave told me that I had a glass-breakage warranty. Present day: I had a broken window. The only reason I called Mark and Co is because they had promised me a glass breakage warranty. On 12/20 co-owner Kelly came and measured, and told me that I do have a glass breakage warranty. I informed Kelly that I am selling the house, that closing date is 1/13 and I need the repair done before then. Kelly said this would not be a problem. Mark and Co filed a warranty claim with Milgard on 12/20. I called Milgard on 1/4, they said Mark and Co had given them the wrong order number. After much back and forth with Mark and Co, they finally admitted that I do not have a glass breakage warranty. On 1/4 Kelly told me that "today" he would order glass to install in the existing frame, the glass would arrive 1/9, and he would install 1/10 or 1/11. On 1/9 I called to confirm this appointment. Dave told me the glass had not been ordered because Kelly "called in sick." 4 days to closing and the glass has not been ordered!!! Dave promised me that he would order the glass "today," and scheduled an appointment to install on 1/12 at 3pm. He did not show up for this appointment. At this point I cancelled my contract with Mark and Co and called another supplier. Kelly responded by leaving a rude, unprofessional, and threatening voice mail. Good riddance.

I am not sure what has happened to customer service and the ability to earn customer trust. I…read morecalled and cycled through many departments trying to find out the cost of a simple 1x6 cedar fencing. Not only would no one answer the phone in lumber sales the one lady in customer service was rude when I asked to have her share with the manager that they just lost out on a 500 board order. Calling Lowes and Jerrys to see how they do... Update on call to Lowes took 4 cycles of ring backs to get someone in front to pick up. When the one person finally cared enough to try she couldnt find the part# for the board i needed. Went to Jerrys and besides being a bit lazy their wood was crap and no way was I going to buy it. Project put on hold.

I am done shopping at this Home Depot. I would prefer suffering through shopping at Jerry's. I have stopped by the door department 3 times in order to order new exterior doors. No one has been there. I did their go to the website and signup to have someone come out and size doors. I have been waiting for weeks. Finally went in today and there were a couple of people at the desk servicing customers. After waiting for 20 minutes, I go to take a pick of the door I wanted in a different size while my wife waits in line. I talk to a gentleman that I assume works in a different department just walking through, and he he talked to me about what was in stock, basically what you see is what you get. Anything not here has to be to special order. Eventually one of the guys finishes up, (we were in the store for an hour, so I am assuming another 40 min) and has to go on lunch. He calls his supervisor over who is the same guy. He sits down and instead of going to open the custom order tool for the vendor, he pops open the Home Depot website and points me to the door (he remembered the dimensions, and what I wanted) with a different vendor and says this is my best option. Why couldn't he have told me that after I wasted another 40 minutes waiting. So I ordered a door on amazon, will beat their delivery time by 2 months, and saved almost 100 bucks. I am happier with the brand on amazon anyway.
