Brian installed a Crimestopper Alarm System in my Kia Soul and 15 months later the fob went bad and couldn't be replaced because the company went out of business. Elite Car Stereo in Pearl City told me Crimestopper had website: www.crimestopper.com and I was able to buy the exact 5 button fob needed to operate the Crimestopper alarm system Brian installed, but the new fob has to be programmed. I don't know how to do that. AutoSound Plus if you are still in business, please give me a shout-out. read more

I bought a reverse camera on Amazon. I did request quotes on Yelp, installation prices ranged from $150 to $300. I called A plus and got a quote from Darius. The quote was lower than the Yelp review. So I asked if there was an error, the response was yes, quote depends on type of system, car, etc. However they honored the lower price even without me asking. Installation Quick in and out...couple hours. Very clean working install, can see any wires. When I picked up my vehicle, Darius explained the setup and lines while we are in the vehicle. Highly recommend A Plus Auto Sounds in Waipahu. read more

=== 1. VERDICT/VALUE This review is for "Got H.I.D.'s?", which is based at A Plus Auto Sound. Good service, product and value make this place a winner for HID / Xenon headlight replacement! It all started when one headlight stopped working for my car... === 2. SERVICE Easily the best part of the experience: - Texted for a quote for my car. - Quick response (in four minutes!). - Recommendation on what would work for my make/model of car. - Flexible appointment schedule Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday. - Tino Bilan (primary proprietor) tested the fuse box first to reset things to ensure no electrical fault was creating the issue. He then tried a bulb and it worked just fine - no need to fuss nor pay for ballasts or anything else! - I wish the car's dealership would have done the same... === 3. PRODUCT Tino happened to use an industry standard Philips HID bulb for my car. It could not be color-matched to the factory-provided Osram bulb on the other side of the car, but the whiter color does not bother me. The price is reasonable (but far cheaper than the dealership!); it's not too far off from what could be seen on Amazon and includes his labor. Tino's work comes with one year warranty for parts and labor - just keep the receipt! === 4. ATMOSPHERE It's really a tent in the parking lot outside of A Plus Auto Sound - there's not really seating or anything to do there while waiting. However, the complex does have Elena's and other food choices, along with the library in behind the complex, so there are plenty of things to do during the short wait for your repair or replacement! read more

UPDATE: A day after the original camera (Rexing V1P) was installed, it stopped working. It got stuck on the loading image screen every time I tried to turn it on. It was simply a defective camera and had nothing to do with a poor install. Jun was kind enough to uninstall it for free so that I could return the camera to Best Buy. Best Buy didn't have the same camera in stock locally, so I opted to upgrade to a different camera: the KD Links R100 from Amazon. I would HIGHLY recommend the KD Links camera over the Rexing. At first I thought my new rear facing camera was really blurry, but I realized one of the lens stickers was left on (no big deal, I took the sticker off). The camera quality on the KD Links camera is MUCH better than the Rexing, and overall the KD Links camera has much better features and options and is way more user-friendly. They re-installed my new camera free of charge, though I did leave a small tip as a thank you. I appreciate that they stand behind their work and didn't give me a hard time about getting a different camera installed. --- I wanted a front and rear dash cam installed for security purposes (Hawaii has terrible drivers). Best Buy sells dash cams, but I didn't really want the Geek Squad there installing it. Thankfully, I searched "dash cam" in yelp and found A Plus Auto Sound. A Plus is located near to Elena's and Jack in the Box/Arby's in Waipahu. I appreciate that they are very quick to respond via yelp. If you're looking to have a dash cam installed, they do NOT sell them. Instead, you need to order one from Amazon or Best Buy (or anywhere), and they'll install it for $150. Well worth the peace of mind, especially because my previous car got hit twice while parked and both times no one left a note (THANKS). I've also heard way too many horror stories of people getting into accidents, and the driver at fault just books it and doesn't even stop. I got the Rexing V1P front and rear dash cam from Best Buy with the hardwire kit. Hardwiring is a must, as it will allow your camera to record even when it's off if it senses that your car was hit via gravity sensors. There are many other options available, with Amazon having the most choices, but the Rexing V1P fit what I was looking for. Install took exactly 1 hour. There isn't really a nice place to wait inside the shop, so I walked over to Waipahu Library which is right behind the shop and has free wifi for library card holders! Overall, the cameras were installed very cleanly. I'd definitely come back here. read more

I needed a custom box made. I looked up the specs online & Jimbo was able to do such an excellent job on it! It has 2 braces, 2 baffles & is flush mounted. Jimbo's work is top notch! Once upon a time, when my truck was brand new, I needed an alarm. I shopped around and A+ had the best deal and was available to install it immediately. Fast forward 4 years...I found myself unable to unlock my doors after my shopping trip. I tried to ask Google what's up but for some reason I couldn't find an answer. I gave the shop a call and Brian saved the day! I let him know that my remote won't unlock the doors. He said maybe it's the remote's battery. I said no, I don't think so. Long story short, it was the battery lol. This is why I should trust the professionals. I'm thankful for Brian helping me out by giving me detailed instructions on what I can do (because I convinced him it was the alarm, not the battery) but most of all for being patient with me. Thanks Brian, you definitely get an A+. read more

if i has a choice i would rate this place a 0 or -10. i dropped my car off on March 25 at 9am just for a simple alarm & to check why my back speaker won't work. they called me in 4 hours to pick up my car. when i got there the alarm was installed but the car would not lock or unlock. which was the miscommunication about actuators my car had prior. & i was told jun couldn't look at my speaker i later waited for my car. instead i got complaints about how my door handle was keyless entry it has no key holes. (didn't think it was a problem.) still waiting in there shop for an hour. heard their techs broke one of their customers dash & shushing each other to not tell anyone. decided to leave. they called me & said my latch is broken. like how the hell does a latch break now ? waited 3 weeks for my car for a special order part. that's not the bad part yet LOL they ripped/ broke my door panel that is discontinued. the guy said "it was cracked already". got my car back with wires on the ground. speaker tossed onto the passenger floor. not everything reassembled correctly. screws for my console on the ground. i was charged for my own actuators. i was just over their shit already. read more

Went in to have some electrical work done on my truck. Another shop installed an alarm and they did a subpar job of installing the components. These guys know what they're doing. Car audio, alarms, HIDs, you name it. About an hour and a VERY FAIR COST for the labor (troubleshooting, as they call it) and my turn signal mirrors worked, my parking light flash worked, and my alarm was hooked up like it was supposed to be). Would definitely recommend these guys for services in the future. Professional, friendly, and knowledgeable - those are good qualities to look for in a company that working on your vehicle. I've been to many Audio shops on the island and I have to say, A+ Auto Sound is fantastic. Jun owns the store and he treats all of his customers like they're family. I love that. When you're about to spend a good amount of money on something, it's always comforting to know that the people you're giving your money too are just hoping to give you the best deal you can get. Jun isn't after your money or selling you a high ticket. I walked in and he remembered me from years prior. Even asked how my FRS was doing. I was impressed. I told him what I wanted and he gave me good quality products at a low price. I've done price quotes and for what Jun and his team gave me....I should have been spending $2500+. Jun appreciates loyalty....I spend under $1700, left with a killer system and a smile on my face. If you need some sounds, just come on in. They are knowledgeable, friendly and DONT act like stuck up jerks (like some other places do). They do car alarms, audio, cameras, lighting...Whatever you can think of. And the best part, installation is included in their already LOW prices. My 2-Din was $850 installed. Go across the street....$899, before installation. It's truly a no brainer. Thanks A+! read more

Back in September of this year (2018), I was looking to replace the old/factory-installed car stereo and speakers because the speakers were about to fail and the car stereo was just too old for my needs. Because my car was almost two decades old, we did not need a very expensive setup, and Jun was able to get me what I wanted at the price that worked for me. After the car stereo and speakers were replaced, I was satisfied with their work. Now I can tell they back up their work because they offer a one-year warranty on their parts and labor, which was helpful when I found out that one of my powered windows stopped working some days after they worked on my car. I was able to go back to their place and they checked it out and fixed the problem for FREE. I can tell you that they do a great job of taking care of any issues that occur after you get your car stereo setup done. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with their prices, how they setup my car, as well as how they took care of the issues I had after the car stereo setup was done. I would recommend going to this place for all your car stereo needs. TIP: Before going in, get a quote through Yelp first. They will give you a good discount on their services. read more

Submitted Yelp request around 0600 (am) on a Saturday, and Jun texted me at 0700. Was pouring rain until 1100, so I went in when the rain let up. They were busy with 3 other installs and 4-5 customers, yet fit me in within 15 minutes. I had a front/rear dashcam installed. Excellent customer service and great work. Also it's in Waipahu so for those that live from Aiea west and north this is great - No fighting Honolulu traffic! read more

Since I installed my alarm, I've had numerous problems with my remote. Stopped in to see if I could get it corrected and the guy told me to come back the next day. I returned the following day and the same guy told me they were all booked - to make an appointment. Huh? I thought that's what I did. Made an appt and came back. They worked on it and I thought problem solved. Nope - same problem. Now the cab dome light doesn't work when you open the doors. Btw Jun was out of town - I think the shop runs better when he's there. He spends a lot of time in Vega$. Not faulting him - gotta enjoy life. I guess I'm going somewhere else to fix it. read more

A+ Auto Sound... highly recommended. I went to all the other places along Kam Hwy in Pearl City and Farrington Hwy in Waipahu looking to get a reverse camera and upgrade the stereo in my Tahoe. At all the other places I felt uneasy, intimidated and pressured to upgrade my choices to the more expensive ones. But Kuya Jun (Owner) at A+ Auto Sound was friendly and genuinely helped me get exactly what I was looking for, no forcing to upsell into something "bigger and better", no pressure... at a very reasonable price. In fact, his price was MUCH lower than all his competitors He said the entire install was going to take about 3 hours since there were other customers that already left their cars for installation. But when I told him I was going to wait, he said he would take care of mines himself. So I went to have lunch. I came back afrer an hour,l and was expexting to wait for 2 moee hours. To my surprise, I only waited 30 mins in his shop (they have cold AC btw). He got everything done in 1.5 hours. He gave me a quick tutorial and I was on my way, currently enjoying my new sounds. He backs his work and all products, replacement is free if there is a defect. Great prices, his top notch service and skills, A+ Auto Sounds gets 10 stars from me! You can go to all the other shops, and come this place last... you'll be blown away at the price and service difference. In fact, skip all the other guys, dont waste your time and gas, go straight to Jun at A+ Auto Sounds for all your car audio and video needs. read more

A Plus Auto Sound - Thanks A Plus Auto Sound in Waipahu! - Car Stereo Installation Near Me - Waipahu, Hawaii

After reading the excellent-rated reviews here, I knew I had to check this place out for myself. It's in Waipahu, near Jack-in-the-Box. It's a small, yet organized shop filled with audio equipment. Equipped with friendly workers offering their assistance and knowledge to customers inquiring about parts/services for their cars. For myself, i wanted a new stereo for my car and they chose the right one for my car and it was priced at $300 but he gave it to me for $250. Should I have known they haggle, man.. I would've asked for lower. But I overheard they give products for less or much less than advertised or costs compared to other places. They have a designated service area in the corner to work on the cars, and while they did mine, I waited inside the shop on the provided chairs. I was happy to hear that they would install my stereo for me, the same day and less than anticipated. It only took about 15 or so minutes and they even fixed my AC that was sticking out! Thank you to Nolly for making sure to explain to me how to operate the new stereo and if something were to happen, there is a 1-year warranty with the receipt on hand. read more

GIVING THIS FU$KING PLACE NO STAR WHAT SO EVER!!! COULDNT POST THIS WITHOUT HAVING TO SELECT A STAR BUT THEY DESERVE NONE DON'T KNOW WHY THIS PLACE IS EVEN IN BUSINESS!! Sorry I'm not a person who talks bad about a business but hell no to this place!! Don't get me wrong price yea decent good ,but workers for one no respect at all no greetings, no hospitality, just eyes up and down! I Got viper alarm remote start installed by them. Took them about five hours of labor (was getting a little sketchy) so was kinda curious what was taking so long, I Stopped by to see that my truck had all windows down no one working on it so I confronted and called the shop to have them say my truck is done!! Like wtf y'all was gonna wait for closing to tell me that? So got my truck worker shows me how to work the remote start blah blah blah when we went to remote start it factory alarm goes off and was told that's normal. Also when in remote start my a/c wouldn't blow even when it's on, And told me that's factory and nothing can be done. So i walk into my truck and found one of the dash lights on for the passenger airbag that wasn't there before install and told me so other bullshit and THEY ALSO STOLE SOMETHING OUTTA MY TRUCK AND HAD THE NERVE TO TELL ME THEY DIDNT TAKE ANYTHING WHEN CLEARLY THEY WAS THE LAST TO TOUCH MY TRUCK!! I said forget it it was only 10 bucks worth, so I Took my truck drove off to find my gauge cluster shuts off everytime I shift. Took my ass back to them to fix the issue. Got it fix and was told to go look some where else about the a/c and factory alarm going off. Took my truck two days later to another shop to fix their fuck up!! And guess what a/c works while in remote start, factory horns doesn't go off while in remote start mode!! Also this shop I went to fix that passenger light and was told they tapped into a wire that suppose to not be tampered with to begin with. I ain't ever going to this fucking place ever!! And I'll highly wont suggestion/recommend this place to ANYONE!!! I don't think they know what the hell they doing!! ZERO FUCKING STARS AND SHOULD BE OUT OF FUCKING BUSINESS!!! read more

I brought in my car to put in a sub/amp combo. Previously I have been messaging this business to get quotes on certain services. Finally decided on putting a sub/amp combo under my seat to eliminate having to take up space in my trunk. I went in thinking the business would be expecting me or at least informed of the service I requested on being done to my car. Unfortunately the person I spoke to who seemed puzzled and had to ask me what I was there for I explained that I have been messaging them on yelp about putting a sub/amp combo under one of my seats in my car. He took a look at my phone to see the message thread and knew of what kind of sub/amp combo to install. After taking down my info I sat inside the store to wait for my car to be finished. Yet as I waited for my car to be finished, I smelt cigarette smoke as the front two front doors were open. I assumed the smoke was coming from outside the store, but as I looked towards the counter, one of the workers, who came from outside the store, had a lit cigarette in his hand. Being that I do not smoke, I thought that was horrible. It is like the workers do not care for the customer. The sub/ amp combo sounds good but idk about the customer service at this business.
