My husband went in to this shop yesterday afternoon to see if they had any mufflers but the salesman was a bit rude and told my husband they couldn't do anything to help him. Although after he got turned away my husband went to RAD Motorsports and they were able to help my husband with no issues and no problems. The customer service at RAD Motorsports are far more better, reliable and helpful. I'd much rather deal with a company who wouldn't turn customers away just bcoz they don't want to help much less take a look at the car first and then make that judgement. read more

Came in today (4-29-2024) to get some custom exhaust done. Brought my own tips and muffler btw. Spoke with Jason what I wanted done. Got it on the lift and showed him. I've prepared everything already from removing fake exhaust tips and such. Got a quote breakdown. Pricing from pipe to hangars. As well how much the hourly rate is. Just remember, hourly rate is high but understandable. Welding is a skill set. I would do it myself if I could weld but no. Anyways, before proceeding, Jason asked if I would like to go ahead. And said yes. The job took about an hour or so, and it came out pretty great. Welds alone was great. Not patchy which I was concerned about. Most of all Jason understood what I wanted and got it on point. I've gone to this shop multiple times in past. This being my 5th time. Although I always had doubts before and during the install, they never disappointed me each time. Thank you Jason! First Visit: Couple weeks ago, I went in wanting to change out the exhaust tips on my build. From going in with the intention of just getting the tip change out done. Spent almost an hour talking Cars and exhaust with one of the employees there. I already had Spintechs installed on my car, but I wasn't satisfied with the sound it was producing. Told the bradda my goals with the exhaust system. He pointed out that with my current set up I was losing horsepower. So he showed me a cut away of what I already had. With my mechanical background, I agreed with everything he said, it made mechanical sense. After giving him my ideas of what I wanted, he guided me to the Flow Master super 44's. His main goal was to make sure I was making the right investment. End up not doing the work during this visit. Did some research on Youtube and reviews on the Super44 with my engine. I was completely sold. 2nd Visit: this past week I called them at around 3:00 when I got off of work, and asked them if they'd be able to take me in knowing they closed at 5:30, they told me if I'd make it in the next 30 mins work can be done. Got to the shop, got a written estimate before fully committing. I agreed with the price. Thats when the ball started rolling. Car was taken in. I was thinking was gonna have only one guy working my car... No ways had 3 mechanics putting in work. 1 guy prefabbing, one guy welding, and one guy helping keep everything aligned. Customers rolled in at about 4 so they had to break off to help the people coming in. Work was done in 1 hour. And they did everything thing theoretically right from the welds to spraying a coat to prevent rusting on the welds. And taking every precaution when it came to taking my lowered car off the lift. Im an mechanic myself, but don't have the right equipment to do my own exhaust, And I was a first time customer. This Tip goes out to those with minimal knowledge. 1. Know what you want, do your research. 2. Most exhaust are welded and thats the preferred install. Theres no un-welding whats already been installed. Unless you go with bolt on's which can be easily stolen. 3. Get a written estimate, who wouldn't these days? 4. There workmanship is top notch. a skilled welder is not cheap...I glad to have the right hands work on my Build l. read more

ATTENTION TO DETAIL - Found an exhaust leak then offered to fix it at no charge; required cutting a section out and replacing with new pipe. THOROUGH - Noticed rubbing in two spots - fixed um. Noted my cat was broken, made recommendation for future fix. FAIR price for the work, especially considering the extra fixes he performed. ENGAGEMENT with customer - Made the effort to make sure I understood what he was doing and why. Over the years I've done cat back exhausts on 4 of my vehicles at the Waipahu shop.Always been satisfied with the work done and every time the price kept rising for the same exact setups.Was really disappointed this most recent visit when the price was the most expensive of all time at $960 but got it anyway since I trust the work.To make me even more frustrated 6 months after the work for the first time I noticed my tips were rusting and couldn't believe after calling that for the first time they installed the cheap chrome tips not the usual stainless steel tips like in all other installations.I guess the pandemic changed the way business is done and next time I gotta inquire to make sure I get stainless installed and not the crap chrome.So for future reference I suggest everything be agreed upon in writing so you don't get a surprise like I had read more

The employee that helps me when i first got to the shop gave me no choice of where my exhaust sits. Made it look so stupid on how far out my exhaust was from my rear bumper. Said they don't cut bumpers i'd have to do it myself, left the shop went to the bank and told myself my car looks so stupid with the exhaust sticking out this much. I went back to the shop and told that chubby asian guy with glasses, i want to speak to your manager and he started giving me attitude. The manager told me he can cut my bumper if i wanted and i said yes. Manager made it all right and perfect but that one chubby Asian guy with glasses gave me a hard time. I'm struggling with this review because my experience was mixed. The managers working the front are good guys, they're knowledgable, and they were fairly priced (for Hawaii). The issue I had was the amount of parts and time needed to try and resolve my issue. They don't entertain engine codes, but are happy to apply parts to the issue. It felt sort of like holistic problem solving rather than using a mechanical procedure. Like I said. Knowledgeable, fair, nice but I did spend a lot of time and money to not have my issue fixed. read more

ARNING Don't get SCAMMED with prices. $95 to install a complete bolt on replacement for catalytic converter. $80 to cut catalytic converter and weld a straight pipe. Y'all see the scam there? Also got quoted $180 to remove resonator with two exits weld, but I didn't commit because of personal reasons. But two weeks later I told my gf to bring it in to get it done but she was told that it's gonna be $280. They told her "we need to weld two inlets and outlets" also "there's something hanging". If y'all don't know, they literally just made a fancy term for a "tube/pipe", she also requested the worker from the first quote that was currently working but he sounded scared and told her to talk to the guy in the front. Seems like the higher ups are the ones scamming and making up prices. Do your research and make sure u come in knowing what has to be done. If you're skeptic, try come in twice, maybe two weeks apart and get two price quotes and you're most likely gonna get two different prices. read more

I would give no stars if i could. I got my muffler done since rads was appt only. I wanted to get it done faster since my muffler was not good. I went and got it installed. It took about an hour to get it done. I provided everything and it costed me $180 for about an hour job....i don't get paid big bucks and I had to save to get $180. I only work couple of days a week FYI. I checked to see if it was to my likings and from the lift it looked straight but when i got home my friend and father noticed it was crooked. I began to notice it too. I called and asked if i could get it redone and make it straight, but they told me it would be $50-60 extra to redo a mistake they made. Why would I pay extra, I contacted them about it when I got home the same day ...I work hard for my money and saving it to install this muffler. I wasted time and money going here. I should've just made an appt at rads motorsports because the work here is poorly done. Never coming back here again. Lesson learned, Next time, I will bring my vehicle to somewhere else that will appreciate a customer and do what's right, not rip off a customer. If anyone ask me about my crooked muffler I will say ESH Waipahu did it and don't go there . My car is a perfect example of their work ! read more

I watched everything they did from outside and they put a lot of care on how the exhaust looked and double/ triple checked their welds and took extra time to ensure it was a quality job. Hands down I'd recommend this place for exhaust work. Don't judge a book by its cover, the building is a bit old and the lobby is a little out dated but all that matters is you get a kick ass exhaust system for a really good price. I was told on the phone the exhaust Job would be $280, also was told no appointments so got there early. Second person there but I was the third person taken in as the ESH guy took his friend in before me. Then he tries to upsell me to $900 of exhaust work. once again I explained what I needed in which I was told $280 the same price I got on the phone. When it was done 30 min later my Bill was $430 because apparently he gave me a quote that didnt include labor. This was in the Waipahu store. Shady ass way of doing business.. BUYER BEWARE. Poor customer service. Guy at front desk has a very bad attitude. He would talk down at you like you didn't know any mechanics. This is at the WAIPAHU LOCATION. Went to KALIHI LOCATION and was given a quote with LABOR to do my exhaust $780 and this was just to change my muffler (with no pipes!!) As my car is only a year old when I had it installed. My bill ended up being over $1000!! On top of that welds we're pretty ugly and I've been smelling exhaust fumes in my car. Went to WAIPAHU LOCATION to get it check and they said who did the exhaust and I said exhaust systems in Kalihi. Response was "OHHHH" you have to take it back to them since there a whole different owner. I've been going to exhaust systems starting since the year of 2000 and I've gotten to know Robert and Roland and they have always been great owners, very friendly but your workers is a different story. After todays experience my expectations for this business is no longer what I've had these last several years with doing business. This will not be a Five Star review! NO! Why? Well, their waiting area is not extremely comfortable. Its only comfortable. Their display, while educational, needs to be reorganized to be more effective. I can happy give them Four Stars though. Exhaust Systems Hawaii is only one block off Nimitz highway. Its location is convenient and easy to find. While its exterior is not elaborate, it states what the business is all about. It is a multi-bay garage with lots of work going on. One reviewer stated that "they should have told me it'd be really loud", when referring to the "bigger pipes" he had installed. I had this in mind when I went in. Sure enough, they asked if I wanted to stick to the 2 1/2 inch pipes or go larger. He didn't mention how much louder an increase in the pipe size would make my truck sound, and with an eight cylinder 350 engine, this would be a serious issue. Why didn't he mention it? He assumed that my knowledge base was sufficient for the question at hand. That was really nice of him. For me, that was fine. For others that would cause major league buyers remorse as they would have to start yelling at their passengers in order to be heard. TIP: Don't assume they will tell you what you need to know. These are guys that work with exhaust systems every day. They will assume that the average person's knowledge base is greater than what it actually is. They are wrong. (Bad assumption on their part is another reason that they only get four stars.) They did a very good job. Everything works nicely. They clarified what I wanted done at multiple points during their work. With the "extras" available, they asked if I wanted them, yet they did not try to pressure me to make a decision one way or another. They just let me know that the options were available. They were polite. They were clean. They were professional. They will be my first choice if I ever need any future exhaust system work. read more

Exhaust Systems Hawaii and their owner/manager Robert is a sham. I took our truck in because of theft of CC he was going to do an estimate and explained the whole after market and OEM options. Made sense for us to go with an OEM part because we had full coverage. A day goes by and I notice our truck is not at the shop, when I call Robert he tells me he took it to Kalihi, his reason is because Waipahu is not a state farm shop but Kalihi is, ok well thanks for letting us know but WTF... strike 1. 2 days later insurance emails saying they finished the quote and to contact shop, we tried calling, no answer, he later texts me saying the truck is done. I'm thinking WTF we never approved anything, strike 2. We go down to pick up the truck and ask why they did the job without consulting us, worker blames the owner Robert. I then ask what part they used, he says after market, strike 3. Come to find out they are not even a state farm shop. If they were at least the job would be covered.
