Fried dough dipped in sugar...hits the spot! Nice central location that's been at Waikele Shopping Center since the 2000's. The red & white striped lunch wagon is iconic to see from the freeway & gets all my kids excited & asking if we can stop. There's numerous lunch wagons after Petco & Leonards is between Laverne's & Mountain Shave Ice. You can order original sugar, cinnamon or li hing mui (local fave) for $2.20/ea. Or $2.70/ea if you want it filled w/haupia, custard or dobash (Kapahulu has more options). It's a better deal to buy 6, 12, 18 or 24 pieces. There is a wait since they make it fresh. The employees do their job, but aren't chatty with customers, which is a mix of locals and tourists. Don't forget to roll your malasada in the sugar on the bottom if any part of it is bare!!. Happy grinding!

Ample parking. Convenient if you're in the area. This wagon does not have the flavor of the month malasada. And they are debit/credit card only, no cash.

If you need malasadas, you gotta go to this truck!!! This Leonard's malasada food truck at Waikele Shopping Center is hands-down my favorite place to grab fresh malasadas! Located with all the other food trucks near Pet Co, this spot seriously beats the original location for me because they make all their malasadas fresh to order. I love how fresh it tastes and they are consistently hot and perfect. Today I got a box of six regular malasadas which was about $12. Pro tip: you have to eat them right then and there for the best taste. Trust me on this! There's no seating, but the service is fast, the staff is friendly, and the quality is unbeatable. If you're in the area, don't skip this food truck--it's the best!

This food truck is convenient if you are on the west side of Oahu near Waikele. You'll find it next to Lowe's in the parking lot. They make the malasadas fresh to order. Service was quick and efficient even if you see a line out front. Eat these malasadas fresh for the best flavor and texture. We ate ours out of the back of our Jeep!

We stopped by the food truck park to grab some grub on our way back to our hotel. There was a small line and the bit of a wait to receive my malasadas but it was worth the drive, the entire trip, to taste these amazing pastries. They are served hot and fresh! I got a custard, and plain one. It is so crisp yet pillowy soft inside. I love how tender the dough is. Thank you to the family who brought these Portuguese donuts to the masses, they have become so popular, they are a Hawaiian icon and staple.

Everyone told me that Leonard's Malasadas were the best. I had to go see if they were right. Yup! They were. They make them hot and fresh while you wait. And it isn't a long wait at all. Five minutes tops. They are I think like 2.50 each but if you buy 6, they are $2.00 each. You get to try one of each. I paid $4.50 for ONE Holy Grail Donut. When I can get tasty malasadas why buy an overpriced donut. When you are on Oahu go get yourself a malasadas...or 6!

What a delightful treat after hiking Koko Crater! We'd heard about Leonard's Bakery from multiple people, along with the long lines, so finding this little Leonard's mobile wagon was a delightful surprise. We learned that malasadas are Portuguese fried donuts and I don't think I've ever had a donut I don't like. Leonard's mobile wagon malasadas were fresh and hot. We tried a variety, original sugar with haupia (coconut filling), original sugar without filling, and cinnamon sugar without filling. Each one was absolutely yummy! A perfect post-hike snack, and we'll definitely be back!

Stopped here in the early afternoon after we went to breakfast, and there was no line. We ordered six traditional and one custard, and they came out piping hot in the cute pink box. They are cashless so be prepared for that. It's in the back area of a parking lot, and the other trucks are all conned off, so that helps. There is also nowhere to sit, so don't plan to stay here unless you're eating in your car.

10/10 would recommend hot portuguese donuts with multiple fillings to choose from Fresh from the truck I want more now.

You could never go wrong with Leonard's as a dessert or even breakfast item. I've been to several locations and mobile wagons and they've all lived up to the hype and quality. Huge fan of their custard and Dobash malasada. The malasada's are inexpensive and worth grabbing a half dozen or even a whole dozen. I could easily down 2-3 within minutes. I will add to others reviews about their hours, be warned that it is not 100% guaranteed. I got there this morning, but they were closed at 7:45. They had a sign stating that they wouldn't open until 8:30. Sad we couldn't get our Leonards fix early in the AM

This is the only kind of breakfast worth waking up for and immediately hitting the road to pick these up and demolish My favorites are plain, cinnamon, coconut, custard, or guava filling depending on the sweetness I'm going for. The coconut filling is not too sweet and just a hint of coconuts. LiHing flavor when I'm feeling sassy and have a cold bevvy to go with it.

As much as I like to go to the store I went to growing up in Kapahulu, the mobile "food truck" style still does a great job. I know there is one in Waikele and one in Koko Marina shopping center. You have to eat these hot to really enjoy them. There are lots of options but the original is what made them famous so I'd definitely get those. The filled ones are good, but not as good, to me, as the original. Enjoy!

I love this truck ! It's so much faster than the regular Leonard's location and they make it fresh and hot as you order it. There was no line and I got my malasadas within 5 minutes. If you're in the area I would recommend coming here instead (unless you want a picture with the Leonard's sign).

Ask the Community - A Leonard's Bakery

Do they stay at 1 spot all the time? Since they are on a truck. My concern is that they will move to places

I think this particular food truck does not move. I always see every time I drive past. The other Leonard's truck is actually mobile. I used to see it in Kaneohe at certain days/times only.

Is the pearl ridge Malala day wagon open daily?

Yes they open daily

Is the malasadas still good , the mobile wagon in waikele areA?

All mobile wagons are good, waikele location get busy once it opens .

This review is only for their ube hopia! Does Manny sell hopia baboy?…read more I grew up in San Diego in the 90s when this one mom-and-pop Filipino bakery in National City, CA sold the best hopia baboy (pork) until they closed down. Then another mom-and-pop shoo in National City, Ching's Hopia opened up and is still going strong. Some time in between, my Lolo (grandpa) brought some hopia baboy straight from the Philippines...Eng Bee Tin brand hopia baboy, to be exact. Yes, it's the same famous family brand in Manila's Chinatown, Binondo. So yeah, hopia has been a childhood favorite of mine and Eng Bee Tin and Ching's have ruined hopia for me lol! You'll never see me buy pre-packaged, store-bought hopia! I missed out on Ching's during my last San Diego visit, so I really wanted to try Manny's Bakeshop's ube hopia. The interior is no frills and the displays never look packed in the afternoon. Maybe they have more selection in the morning? A bag of 11 pieces of ube hopia costs $5 flat. Minimum $10 purchase is required to pay by card, but luckily, I had enough cash with me. To my surprise, Manny's ube hopia were pretty good. They have faint ube flavor, but still flaky, pretty moist, and not too sweet. I saw someone commented on the lack of ube flavor, but I thought this was comparable to Ching's but slightly smaller. I've never tried Eng Bee Tin's ube hopia and I heard they invented ube hopia to satisfy the Filipino market? Maybe Eng Bee Tin's is bursting with flavor, but until I can somehow visit Manila Chinatown or San Diego, I'm content with Manny's ube hopia. Manny's also has a stall inside Waipahu Festival Marketplace. I've consistently seen hopia there as well.

The guava manju was good too. It was moist and the breading was thin which is nice. Service was good. Prices were ok. Very, small bakeshop.

Because I knew before hand from a friend how busy they can get, I called in my order for 2 dozen Spanish rolls for a pick-up time of 8:30AM. It took a few tries before I got thru to someone answering the phone. The first few times, the phone rings and rings then a recording comes on saying their VM system has not been set up. I was persistent and just kept calling until a lady answered the phone. I gave her my order, name, & time I was coming. This location is easy to find with a decent parking lot with lots of open spaces. When I walked in, there was a line of about 4 - 5 people. There was no sign to direct you for call-in orders so I ended up having to stand in the long line. What was the point of calling ahead for quicker service if I still had to wait?!? There was only 1 aunty behind the counter but she worked quickly. Shortly after, another aunty came out & went down the line asking people for their orders. When I got to the register, I told aunty I called ahead, gave her my name and order. You'd think my order would be ready, but sadly no. She grabbed an empty box then went to the back to fill the order so now I'm waiting even longer when it should have been ready. I wasn't happy about that. I ended up being late to my event. Both aunty's were very nice and worked quickly but it seems they need to improve their system when it comes to call-in orders. Spanish rolls themselves - ono, da best! You cannot ever just eat one. Great to bring to any gathering because they go fast. Overall, I may return in the future. Not so much for the customer service but for their delicious Spanish rolls. Continue to support local!

While waiting inside for my order, I noticed four young employees who appeared far more focused on socializing than on serving customers. One employee was recounting details of his previous night, which clearly distracted the other three -- they were laughing and joking around instead of attending to the long drive-thru line and the customer waiting at the counter. This kind of behavior shouldn't be happening during a rush, and it points to a lack of active management on the floor. Staff need to understand they're there to work, not to socialize on the clock, especially when customers are visibly waiting. I'll be following up with the regional manager directly, because a location this busy needs a manager who is actually managing -- keeping the team focused and the lines moving. A couple thoughts before you post: I left out the physical description (curly hair) since Yelp/Google reviews are public and permanent -- best to avoid identifying details about specific employees. Want me to also draft a separate, more detailed message for when you call the regional manager? That one could include more specifics since it's a direct, private conversation.
