I have visited A La Vie a few times since they opened earlier this month, and am so impressed by this place. It is extraordinarily cute and well done, but the food is also incredible. The croissants, pain du chocolate, and other pastries are out of this world. My husband and I have also tried the croissant sandwiches for lunch, which were so tasty - I had the shrimp salad croissant and my husband had the chicken salad croissant (that was a hard choice for him, between the chicken salad croissant and croque monsieur, so we will be back soon for that!). We also brought a bunch of goodies to a family gathering where everyone was in awe at the beauty of each piece - daring each other to be the first to cut into one of the pastries, but then basically inhaling them after taking the first bite, lol. Each item is a delicious culinary masterpiece, and feels exceptionally authentic. They have an open kitchen where you can watch them making the choux dough, which makes the decadent pastries at the counter even more special, seeing the love and time and skill that goes into each. This place absolutely nails it. I ordered a Café Crème and they didn't even blink. The croissants taste like they're baked with love and served with a genuine French smile. The ambiance is warm and relaxing, right down to the iconic Parisian café chairs. What makes this spot special isn't just that it's an authentic French café in our little beachside surfer town--it's that it's the real thing. A touch of French luxury without a hint of pretension. The owners are from Lyon, one of the great culinary capitals of the world, and it shows in every detail. From the pastries to the atmosphere, they've set a very high bar. Small businesses like this deserve our support. What an incredible addition to the local beach lineup. Omg! Absolutely delicious!!! I bought a mixed box of pastries for my mom's bridge group for her birthday and all the ladies raved about everything they tried. Then a strawberry chantilly cake for her other bridge group and even non-cake eaters could not resist and all wanted to know where it came from. Their oat milk latte was fabulous and my dad and I were able to enjoy some of the treats as well because they have gluten free options. Hands down best coffee and pastries in the county. A small French bakery in Cocoa Beach that has limited parking directly out front. The interior is very aesthetic and the pastries look very appealing. The ingredients are all fresh and the croissants are large. However, $10 for a Pain Au Chocolat and $14 for a ham and cheese croissant is quite steep. For two people with drinks, you could easily be at $50. I'm not saying the food isn't worth it but for pastries and small food items, it's pricey. The staff is pleasant and appreciative of your business. read more

The place is cute, cannot deny that. However, it was so disappointing spending $50 and two lattes later.. it was really not worth it. Lattes- one vanilla and one raspberry- both hot.. and they were disappointing. Mine looked gray, didn't even look like it had coffee in it- I messed up by talking to my mother in law instead of watching them make the coffee like I usually do when I try somewhere new .. whatever it was, it definitely was not espresso.. the machine looked fancy, so maybe the two young girls just need practice making coffees. I took one sip and couldn't finish.. I ended up driving 12 mins further to La Moon by the beach just for a good latte. The desserts.. the one that looks like ice cream is a meringue type of dessert with caramel and almonds. It tasted good, but I wasn't crazy about the texture. The croissant you see with the cream and the berries - the filling was really good but because it's a cold dessert, the croissant wasn't good. We also purchased a bag of Madeline cookies- I had one before gifting it to my mother in law because those are her favorite and the ones at Publix taste way better- idk why it tasted different. Lastly, I got a plain regular croissant for my friend - to go - he's a foodie like me. He didn't like it either. They are fairly new- opened this month in the beginning of May.. so they can definitely turn things around! I have high hopes! read more

We've been wanting to try this place for the past few weeks but hadn't a chance. It's on the pricier side yes, but we thought the quality was great and the service was awesome. They were very kind and helpful. The sandwiches were delicious- $12.99 but good sized. The baguette had that perfectly crisp outside with soft chewy inside. Espresso was really good too. Would like to try some sweet pastries next time. Will definitely come back for a glass of champagne and snack again soon. read more

As someone from Silicon Valley, rarely am I shocked at the prices of things, but this place has the distinction of being one of the few. Charging 5 star prices for 3.5 star food in a 3 star price area is egregious. $9.95 is the most expensive I've seen for a pain au chocolat. I ordered a croissant sandwich and the croissant was stale on the inside since it was sitting there pre-cut for who knows how long. The cafe itself is cute and I get that they were going for a particular aesthetic but cheap thin plastic plates and utensils is not the way to go. Service was fine, everything was served in a timely manner. I appreciate that they make their croissants in-house and are clearly trying, but for the price, they're falling short. For $68 for 2 coffees, 1 croissant, 1 quiche, and 1 croissant sandwich, I would expect it to be much better in taste, texture, temperature and overall quality than what I received. read more

I understand this bakery is newly opened and may need some time to fine tune there shop. The service and ambiance, although a little chaotic, was very nice. The almond croissants were excellent but the mini baguette seemed like the frozen kind (not freshly made) and the cappuccinos, served in small paper cups, were very weak. What was a shock was the bill. $50 for 2 almond croissant, 2 cappuccinos and 1 mini baguette. An almond croissant for $12.95 is pretty over the top even for a touristy area. It's at least 4 times more expensive than what i paid in Paris city centre. Good luck. read more
