Such cute delicious treats! They are on the pricier side but definitely worth it. We stopped in for special celebration this weekend. The staff was very nice and the pastries were delicious. My favorite was the blueberry cheesecake bunny my friend's favorite was the orange.

Ordered some dessert from here for my daughter's two month birthday. It had an amazing presentation to it. The place has a good variety of cakes and other dessert. I really liked the chocolate cake we got from there. It tasted really good.

Food: I got a chance to try some of the pastries. I tried the Mango: sweet and white chocolate glazed shell over a mango mouse cake. This was delicious and perfect for me as it was not too sweet. I also tried the tangerine and polar bear mousse which was also very good. Service Service was great and quick. Ambiance There is plenty of places to sit with calming music playing in the background.

My wife stopped over quickly to get some birthday treats for a friend and brought home a few things to try as well, including tiramisu for me to try out. Great flavor, with good balance of sweet, creamy, and the coffee taste. Texture was pretty good too. I also tried a few bites of her GF chocolate cake, which was really good as well. Hope to stop by again in the future to try out other stuff!

I never had a mango mousse cake, probably never saw one in US, France, Italy, Switzerland, Japan, Hong Kong .. Came here because I was nearby today. Saw this and just had to try it because I love mangos. This is the lightest cake I've ever had, and so full of mango flavors. How is this possible? The outer layer is thin, crunchy, and delicious. Inside is the lightest mousse cake with the perfect mixture of mango filling. Every bite is perfect. It is not too sweet and is even better than eating a mango. Can this be possible? You have to try it yourself. And it's not expensive ($9.50) when you see how much work has been out into making this.

I learned something today. I was just in the area looking for a good cup of coffee and a place to sit and be for a while. This looked as good as any. While I was here I saw Hokkaido cheesecake. And I learned that the Japanese have their own cheesecake style. I'll say this about it. If you like rich, creamy, and sweet, this might not be for you. This is a little lighter. Not as dense. You could probably eat two slices of this and want more. But that's not a bad thing at all. It's a good change of pace when you don't want something heavy. Hazelnut cappuccino hit the spot too. This place is worthy of your time.

This is my first time ordering a cake from them. My daughter just graduated from college so I wanted to get a special cake for her. The ordering was done online, and payment was via Venmo. Correspondence was via texts, and the process was quite simple. If you look at their website there is a link where you can order custom made cakes, etc. I was impressed and glad they had many variety of cakes to choose from. One mistake I made was not specifying this was a graduation cake. I simply asked to them put "Congratulations". When my husband picked up the cake it came with a Happy Birthday topper Anyway, they cake came packaged beautifully. I chose strawberries with fresh cream, and it was reminiscent of the French style Japanese strawberry cake I grew up eating in Japan. I will definitely order more cakes from here!

Some things you discover through a bit of serendipity. Easter Sunday the FDC and I went to visit the Matriarch's final resting place. We like to go early before the cemetery gets crowded as it's a special day. After, we decided to stop for bagels. Ended up at a bagel place in Narberth on Montgomery Ave. impulsively I decide to also get a croissant as they looked good. It wasn't good, and FDC says hey, let's check out A La Mousse. Sure. It's a block away. Why not? I am so glad we did. It's possibly the most immaculate bakery I've ever been in, for starters. Then, the pastries, well, look at the pictures. That's not an apple, it's pastry. Stunning. I get a chocolate croissant and a Hawaiian Lemonade Tea. FDC gets an almond croissant and pastries to go. So, a break here. FDC majored in French at university and studied at the Sorbonne in Paris for a year. This woman knows pastries. She told me to write: "This. This is magnificent French-Asian pastry, combining French ingredients with a clean, delicate, delectable flavor. Not overly sweet, nor bland. This is magnificent." I have to agree, there was a lovely balance, I didn't ever feel like I was eating a sugar bowl with those pastries (the Apple Pastry we took home was amazing). My croissant was light and well laminated with just a touch of chocolate. It was delicious. Oh and that Hawaiian lemonade tea? I crave it now. Staff were friendly, polite, fun and efficient. These are not cheap pastries, and they are worth every dime. We've already been back.

Why come out of hibernation to post a review, you ask? Well.. this store has gotten three strikes from my family, so I want to share my experience with you to save you from disappointment. Strike 1: Our first birthday cake order from here. We picked a simple chocolate cake for hubby's birthday. He is not a fan of strawberries, so we requested the chef to make it pretty without them. For the price, the cake looked pretty lame. The chef put some chards of chocolate and a splash of some gold. But the worst part was the calligraphy of Happy Birthday. There was no elegance in that. Nevertheless, cake tasted good though, so we decided to give them another shot. Strike 2: For my 5 yo's birthday, she picked a beautiful "fairy" cake. We went to pick up the cake at 4 pm as decided only to find out that they forgot to make it. Apparently, several other people had ordered the same cake for that day, and they just missed ours. Thankfully, they agreed to delivered the cake by 6 to our house. The kids patiently waited and finally the cake arrived for the party, albeit late Strike 3: This time it is my birthday, and the family still wanted to get a chocolate mousse cake from this place despite my protests. We all picked a chocolate cream cake but requested repeatedly not to include strawberries, neither on the top nor in the middle, as per hubby's insistence. The staff made a clear note of "no strawberries" on the order slip. We went to pick up on my birthday and the person showed us the cake through a tiny window on the box under the handle. We were shocked to see the strawberries on the top, not to mention that the cake looked very different from the design we chose. No matter, we decided we could pick the berries out before we eat. There was no apology at this point. Fast forward to the evening, we cut the cake and lo!, the middle layer is lined with huge chunks of strawberries. Hubby was very upset. So we called the store to complain about this. The attendant kept us on hold for 10 minutes as he talked to the manager. When he returned to the call he asked if we were allergic to the strawberries.. the answer was no.. Phew! At least it wasn't a health hazard. But I told him that my husband really does not like strawberries and we were upset. At this point, the attendant says we have two options, 1/ a $15 gift card to the store that he will send to my phone or 2/ take the cake back and pick up another chocolate cream cake that they have ready in the store. It was very late, and we were frustrated and tired, so we agreed to take the gift card. Needless to say that I have yet to receive that text. Don't get me wrong, the cakes taste good, but for the price, their service sucks! The cashiers seem disinterested in being there and even less enthusiastic about resolving issues. Please don't rely on them to make your day special because they can't get the one job they have right most of the time.

Right on Montgomery ave, parking is right in front of the storefront. A La Mousse is a cute little bakery, with even cuter cakes. The pastries are deliciously flakey and they have multiple drink options. I personally recommend the Japanese soufflé pancakes, croissant, milk foam teas or the delicious hot chocolate. So happy to see a wonderful expansion of A La Mousse here in Narberth PA. This is their second location. They have tons of wonderful desserts, bread, coffee, tea, and drinks! Everything looks so pretty and fancy! We tried the chocolate mousse, pikachu, and coffee mousse and all were amazing! The coffee mousse is my favorite, it's rich and flavorful. I have been SO SO SO excited to try this new place! I purchased 3 individual smaller sized cakes for co workers' birthdays. I wanted to try everything in there , everything looked so delicious and their presentation is beautiful. The lady behind the counter was polite, friendly and knowledgeable. I also purchased some macarons, they didn't make it to the work party the next day , as I consumed them all that night!!!! I will admit it is a bit high in price, but definately worth it!!! All my co workers ABSOLUTELY LOVED their individual cakes and asked where I got them! A la Mousse is definitely a great addition to the Neighborhood. I wish them much continued success!!!! read more

I love this place! It's really quaint and it's my daughter's favorite place to go for a treat. The staff is excellent, always warm and patient (which is ideal when your going with a toddler). The coffee is great (my go to is a vanilla latte) and my daughter loves both the cocoa and the milkshake, but for her nothing beats the cake that is made to look like Elmo and honestly it's delicious, too delicious to get a photo before she's taken a bite ! read more

I'll start by saying that in the past, I've had good experiences at this location. Today, everything I purchased tasted like cleaning fluid. I purchased 3 items. Half-way home I realized I hadn't received what I'd ordered. I went back 10 mins later, walked in and the 'barista' abruptly said 'I'm sorry we're closed'. He did listen long enough to exchange his mistake. Wish I hadn't already tipped him. I'm sad because this was one of my go-to's for special single desserts for myself and others. Hopefully this is an off day for them (vs their new standard). read more

For fun pastries and cakes, this place is great. Nice service and clean store. 4 stars only because they are SO overpriced - it makes us not want to go back. One small baguette (closer to a demo baguette) is $4 each! We would go much more frequently here if the prices were a little more fair. read more

I was excited to come to this location since it was on the way. I've been to the Chinatown location and I absolutely loved their desserts but for some reason this location didn't have many desserts available. I was hoping to get the Matcha mille crepe cake but they said you had to pre-order which is no biggie so I got a matcha mousse cake, a matcha latte and a regular latte. When I got in my car I noticed that the matcha mousse cake looked a little grey instead of that vibrant green you usually see from matcha desserts. What's also weird is when you cut into the cake it does show that vibrant green on the inside but it just looked grey from the exterior, like it was going bad. The cake smelled/taste like metals which is not very appetizing. I'm not sure if this cheesecake was going bad or what but it definitely didn't taste fresh which is disappointing considering how much you're paying. Another thing is the coffee machine they were using to make the latte seem to have some issues which cause them to take a while to make it. What is also interesting is they're just using illy espresso pods kind of like the Nespresso machines to create these espresso shots. If I would've known that was the case I wouldn't have ordered it because I can simply make that kind of drink at home. If you're looking for fresh ground espresso shot lattes I suggest you go to Green Engine Coffee which isn't that far down the road. Overall it wasn't a good experience and the only thing good was the matcha latte. Save yourself some money and go elsewhere for your dessert cravings/lattes. read more

This is one of my favorite bakeries. I love my hazelnut crunch. Kids love the animal flourless cakes. So, when my son wanted a koala cake, I reached out to them. Initially they said they could do it then changed their mind. So, I ended up ordering a race car cake, specially asking for it to be a chocolate cake. I paid in full when placing the order. On my son's birthday, I arrive at the store to find a strawberry shortcake. Cake was beautifully made and delicious but not what we ordered. read more

For my wife's birthday, I needed to find a good gluten free chocolate cake. The French bakery in Narberth used to make a good one, but they've just changed hands and no longer do. Somewhat desperate I tried Giant and Whole Foods, although I had a dim view of their bakery offerings, to no success. A quick internet search led me here, fairly close by, and I called just to make sure they had such a flourless chocolate cake. When they told me they only had individual slices, I sadly told them wouldn't do. They then told me they could have an entire cake with an inscription in a half hour. Suffice it to say, and please forgive the long-winded review, the cake was ready right on time...it was beautiful...and, most importantly, it was absolutely delicious (and I'm not particularly partial to cake). read more

Pastry shop has resurrected the shuttered doors of what used to be the location of Georges Perrier's Art of Bread. Pastries are more beautiful than they taste and run about $8. Go instead for the sweet, cream cheesy octopus bread - named for its shape, not flavor. read more

This cake is the 7inch size golden hazelnut. It is delicious, but I found something shouldn't be in the cake. I don't know what that is. Not like plastic or hair... it is in the middle of the cake. I wish they could be more careful.... read more

Everything I've tried is delicious and staff is super friendly and helpful! The chocolate mousse dessert was great, as well as the pastries, baguette and coffee/lattes I've tried. Also a very pretty atmosphere! I've been in 3 or 4 times and most of the times I've gone there have been other people eating at the tables and a couple groups having coffee and pastries together. Great addition to the neighborhood! I also recently purchased a custom birthday cake and it was a hit and was delicious. read more

Everything I have gotten here has been delicious. I've tried almost everything! My husband recently surprised me with a chocolate cake for my birthday. It was one of the most delicious cakes I've ever eaten! It was beautifully boxed, the presentation was beautiful. And, it came with a cake server and forks, all individually wrapped. We are so lucky to live near such a great bakery. I'm not telling my favorite thing, I don't want them to be sold out when I go in! read more

I am very happy that we have A La Mousse in Main Line. Their pastries are so beautiful and delicious. They even have Mont Blanc (chestnut cake). Their drinks are all super wonderful. Loved their Chinatown location, went to this new branch close to home, and it didn't disappoint. Super cute cakes for both kids and adults. Though I do miss the tangerine cake and matcha crepe cake they offered in the original location. It feels the menu is more catered to Western taste at this narberth location, vs Asian taste at the Chinatown location. I don't see why they can't keep both, we'll just try to go there more and maybe convince the owner to add more of the Asian twists, I guess... read more

Jody remembers us and we always have nice conversations. It's a friendly and welcoming environment.

Not only was I greeted with a warm welcome but the pastries were absolutely delicious. I got two of the lemon tarts, the cheesecake, and the special Swiss roll. I also picked up the Swiss au pan just for funsies and that was delicious. For a wonderful mom and pop type of place, do not miss out on checking them out. I will be heading back to try the macrons next time too! (Sorry I forgot the pictures for the tarts and other baked goods)

The employees are very friendly and knowledgeable about the products. They were able to easily answer my questions about the flavors, and as I ate my ice cream at one of the indoor tables I heard them expertly fielding other customer's questions, as well. They efficiently keep the line moving without making you feel rushed. I tried the Buttercream Birthday Cake and Toasted S'mores flavors in a Waffle Cone. Both ice cream flavors were rich and flavorful and had an ample amount of the mixed in ingredients. The waffle cone was tasty and cooked to the perfect crispy texture. And the ice cream went all the way to the bottom of the cone (I always hate when you finish the ice cream and have half an empty cone left over!). I was disappointed they were out of the limited time summer flavors I wanted to try, but I was there toward the end of the evening. If you have a specific flavor you really want, I recommend going early in the day. And the ice cream is a splurge - it's premium ice cream and you're paying a premium price. It's worth downloading their rewards app to earn discounts on future purchases.

I'm used to the Rittenhouse location, where the counter is 40% shorter, but they have 3x the staff that there was here today. Our group was very slowly helped, even considering the amount of samples that were requested. Service was not the most cheerful either despite the limitations. Ice cream quality is on par with other places. I'd just hope that the number of staff would scale with the size of the place. Hedge your bets with a large group!

I wanted all fall flavors so we went with pumpkin and applied cider whoopie pies, a pumpkin roll, and apple cider cookies. Everything was fabulous, packaged easily for me to transport, and ready when I arrived. I look forward to utilizing this spot again anytime I'm on the mainline and highly recommend grabbing treats for a party next time you're in the area.

Spent almost $50 on candies and treats, and firstly all of the "bulk" candy was clearly stale and had been out for a long time. My partner and I also purchased treats called "thin mints" (which any google search would tell you thin mints = girl scout style cookie treat) but when we opened them at home they were peppermint patties, a completely different treat and not something either of us like. We went back today to see if we had been given the wrong thing or if they could help us, and the woman there (assuming she was the owner/manager by her demeanor) was so so unprofessional and dismissive! We walked in and no one greeted us, the "owner" woman was at the register on her cell phone talking and turned away from us upon walking in. After a few minutes a young girl came out and helped us, so I explained the miscommunication the day before. The owner (note, she was also in the store the day before during our initial transaction) interrupted to explain in a pretty condescending way that they meant something different by "thin mints" and that we clearly did not know. She then got back on her phone and turned her back, clearly did not care that a customer was unhappy. I explained to her employee that this was clearly a miscommunication and can they help us with switching to a candy we like or give us a refund, and she quickly refused and offered no other path to making the situation right. So disappointing to want to support a small business, just to realize they completely don't care about what they are selling or who they are selling to. Seriously, go to the Head Nut candy shop in town instead.

Having been a customer for almost two years, I remember paying $3.50/ea. But what was once an every weekend staple, is now a special occasion indulgence. Terrible experience. Horrible service. Cakes are stale, cheesecakes and creme fillings are very obviously made from a powder mix without fresh ingredients, and the food and drinks are overpriced. Expect to pay 8 and change for a slice of bad cake. read more
