Iced mocha latte & cinnamon roll
Sara L.

Came back to post my picture of the bacon, egg & cheese because it's just that good. & Saturday mornings they often have musicians playing guitar, which makes the whole experience even more phenomenal

Avocado toast with pumpkin seeds and a side of fruit. Delish!

Sweet place with great lunch and drink options. Love that they have a juice bar, which I will try next time. I didn't realize when I walked in that it's a non-profit, as the cafe name means Get included - promoting inclusion of all with disabilities. Very welcoming and warm atmosphere with lots of regulars. I really enjoyed my avocado toast which was genuinely delicious.

This has to be the coolest coffee shop I've ever had the pleasure of studying at!!! The spiced chai latte with a double shot of espresso and oat milk is amazing!!! So flavorful and has me hyped to study! The absolute best part about it is inclusive of all people and I'm speaking specifically of those with special needs. I have family members that have special needs and I work with the population in my profession so it brings me so much joy to see a safe space for anyone who needs it. The live guitar music on Saturday morning only added to this great experience. Wish I could give them more stars!

Lox with all the fix-ins on toasted sourdough. Delicious.

Great spot with great food. This is my first time here and I got the lox on sourdough. Killer samdwich. I love the ambiance. Lots of seating. Adam is a great cashier! In addition, I love seeing new hires get trained. Reminds me of when I used to train people at my old job!

20oz iced caramel latte with skim milk

Love this spot! Great community cafe and delicious coffee. Since moving to town two weeks ago Ive been twice this weekend and have had an iced mocha and iced caramel latte - both delicious. Planning on trying out the smoothies next! (Bonus points to the cafe for having a non profit focus!)

This place is such a beautiful gift right in the city of Philadelphia. The grounds with the trees…read moreand pond, geese, labyrinth, paths, bees and garden are so peaceful and gives ample space for mind and body. I was able to take a little over 24 hours in this serene home to meditate, walk, read and sit with Sister Maria for an hour of spiritual direction which felt like cool water. Whatever your faith or place in this world this home and center opens its doors for quiet and discernment. Sister Maria explained that the history of the house has always been for justice and discernment so there is a rich legacy on these grounds from those who were here before. There is also a quiet beautiful cemetery nearby for long walks and quiet reflection. The room I stayed in had big windows and natural light poured in during the day. I am already planning my next silent meditation retreat. (The center also offers big beautiful rental spaces for gathering. ) Thank you for the love, Cranaleith!

So pleased to be able to write a 5-star review at last. I had the whole retreat house floor to…read moremyself and was able to stretch, meditate, walk, listen to music and read spiritual books. The sisters and administrative manager could not have been nicer or more helpful. The atmosphere is very peaceful with a labyrinth pond, chickens and geese, and beehives/honey produced on the premises. The retreat's name in Gaelic refers to a sanctuary of trees. I highly recommend it to anyone desiring a break from worldly cares to rest and rejuvenate. The site is easily reached by commuter train from Philadelphia and the house has an interesting history as host to suffragettes like Susan B. Anthony.

Thrift & Thrive - Front exterior of store

I stopped by a few days ago to check out their new store. It's significantly bigger than Nana's Attic, which means it feels far less cramped. Yay! Still very good prices, the "yellow tag" items are consignment and generally higher priced than the store's donated stock. It about killed my soul to see an awesome vintage salt & pepper mixed in with newer dishes in a consignment lot. Aaah! Staff are great, the store is clean and bright. I'll definitely be back. Note: angled parking in front of the building is NOT free, Pontiac is a public street, and those are pay at kiosk metered spots.

I do not recommend going here. Thrift and Thrive has lost my business after 10+ years…read more As previously stated, I have been a customer for over ten years. I have been a customer at this store since it was called Nana's Attic. Today I was there, looking for furniture. The selection was a bit overpriced for the quality. Suddenly, I needed to use the restroom. The woman working informed me that they did not have a public restroom and that I could go to the Dollar Tree next door. The Dollar Tree did not have a usable restroom. I returned to thrift and thrive because, quite frankly, I was literally about to pee myself. I begged to use the employee bathroom. The employees lied to my face and said that there was no bathroom in the entire store. Yeah right, if that's true, then that's a worker's rights violation, and they would not be in business. I explained that I was having an emergency and they did not care. It really stinks to be a loyal patron of a store, then to be treated so poorly in return. Particularly during a vulnerable moment. There are plenty of better thrift stores in the area with better prices AND customer bathrooms. It's a shame that a store that has such a great mission doesn't provide a great shopping experience.
