There is a medium sized parking lot towards the entrance of the preserve, which is convenient. I assume it could get a big crowded during the summer months. A large meadow that has path mowed down the middle greets you as you begin your walk. Eventually, the meadow leads to a wooded trail. Along the trail are some scenic sights including beautiful trees and a small creek. Overhead, you'll see many beautiful birds flying. Towards the summer, this seems like a nice place to see butterflies and flowers, too. There's also a historic building on this property, which is cool. There's a benches outside Altogether, Saunders Woods is a nice place to take a nice, casual hike!

This was my 12th NL preserve out of their current 20 properties. Saunders Woods is the second smallest preserve, and to give an idea, it is only 25 acres, while 90% of their preserves are over 40 acres, and 75% of their preserves are over 100 acres. That said, if you want a brief walk, or to sit in some serene nature, you've found a cool spot. This preserve has a swing on a tree that is wide enough to fit two adults. There is a meadow adjacent to the parking lot (one of the few paved lots at NL preserves), and the wooded portion is mostly the valley between surrounding residential neighborhoods. In the winter you can clearly see all the neighboring houses from the trail. It's great that this land has been made into a public nature preserve, and this suits locals as a wonderful spot to enjoy the outdoors. I don't recommend planning to visit if you are looking for a long hike, or a destination preserve with a lot to explore. This is a very well kept moderately sized park in the urban village of Ardmore. It's down the street from the Ardmore Library, Post Office and the PALM (Positive Aging Lower Merion) Senior Center. The park has four distinct areas. First, the playground, which faces Ardmore Avenue and is directly outside the pool entrance. It has a high fence (so no toddlers can easily take off, as they are likely to do), some fairly new play structures and lots of wood chips. There are also a few benches and shade trees. Then there are the basketball courts, which run games pretty regularly, both league and pick-up games. They are in good shape, have bleachers and shade awnings over the bleachers. Nice touch. There are some tennis courts, also high fenced, in very good shape. Then there is the 'lower' playing fields with two baseball diamonds and lots of grass. In the warmer months there are many baseball, soccer and flag football games going on basically every afternoon and all weekend. It's only downfall is that it is a more urban park, meant to be walked to, so if you're parking there it can be a challenge. Ardmore Avenue is one of the busier streets so it's not a quiet, tranquil place, especially when the adjacent pool is open. It is, however, well kept and well used, and has something for just about everyone (except the person looking for a quiet spot to read - not happening here).

The blinds Were covered with dust as where ceiling fans and light fixtures. The sign outside is falling apart. Neighbors tell us this use to be a really nice building but now not being maintained sadly. Location is wonderful close to shopping restaurants and train station. We walked down to the Ardmore Music Hall for a show right after we moved in. We also walked to Tired Hands quite a few times to hang out with friends. The view from our 7th floor apartment was really nice, we saw quite a few lovely sunsets from the large windows in the living room. We asked them to install a nicer faucet head that we purchased in our kitchen and they did it for free. We absolutely loved this place. The pool was pretty large and nice as well. The walls were pretty thick and I don't think we heard our neighbors once. It did get a little cold in the winter at times because they were working out the heating system (this was in 2014-2015). Best place to live in Wynnewood/Ardmore area and I would highly recommend it to others.

There are many elderly residents on the street who end up having to walk from a block away because employees of the store take up minimally three to four parking spots every day. After the blizzards, when we spent many hours digging out a few precious spots, Norman's employees rolled in and took them. As I wrote, I cannot speak to how they do as a business, but if this is how they treat their neighbors, I'm guessing they are the opposite of nice and or integrity based people to do business with, which seems to be the case judging by their terrible reviews.

On day 1 - I wish I had walked out and never went there again, but everyone is an expert with hindsight. At dropoffs week 1 the main teacher for summer camp, Miss Marissa, showed no interest in interacting with my child or listening on how to support my child with the most basics of needs. When I was giving her specific instructions on day 2 she stopped listening and did not even acknowledge my child to play with her own child. When I reported this to the owner, it was confirmed by another employee..... who was soon let go. During the short time (3.5 weeks) my kids attended camp the thing I received the most contact about was if items that the school wanted to provide foodwisw were safe because of food allergies; I packed snacks daily due to food allergies so there was absolutely no need for food to be provided by the school. There was never how can we support your child, it was always encouraging his aide to keep him at a separate table like an outcast and the wanting to know what time was I going to be there instead of making any effort to make NELC feel safe for him. I offered so many resources and insights and no effort on their end was made. My child's tutor also reached out to offer resources and training and NELC wanted me to pay for any additional support. The owner made it a point to tell me when she had to come in early or leave later because of my child. Several days at pickup there was a child stimming; Miss Marissa regularly told him to stop and find a book to read. Again, another sign I should've followed my gut and stopped sending my kids. Daycares in general have shifted and I was so hopeful for a new small business in a local town; instead we found a place that discriminates, antagonized a child with needs when they were told daily that the child needs to feel safe and actively recruits child with special needs to attend. The 2 teachers that bonded with my kiddo when he was where short term employees and left after interacting with my child and reporting all good things. I am sharing this as for a childcare center for your average child it may be fine, but for kiddos with ANY needs- steer clear as 5 months after pulling my child we are still navigating the trauma associated with NELC and how the owner Patty and Marissa treated him. He was there for 30 minutes 2 days a week without an aide and in that short time they completely ignored him when he needed help and didn't even attempt to support basic needs to keep my child safe. The last day my kids went I came home to finding out that there was a physical interaction between my kids that day that I never received any notification about. I immediately pulled my kids that night and was told I was responsible for several weeks of tuition and disbelief that I was pulling my kids. No mention of physical interaction between my kids or any issues that day; fast forward the following week when the state went out to investigate after they were no longer enrolled I received a incident report my child with severe food allergies ingested non-food a week prior.
