AK and his crew are amazing! We were looking for a contractor to build us a 12x15 deck from scratch since June 2021. The previous contractors did not follow up with a proposal. Or could not give us a price because of the inflation of materials. Other contractors did not want to work with a NY permit. It was becoming a nightmare. Until I was referred to call AK. He came with his notepad a pen and was on time. He emailed me a proposal that evening for a composite deck. Unfortunately we were not able to afford it. He then sent me another proposal with wood. We signed and we are so happy we did! The deck was just built in 14 days with one day off; working through the cold and rain this November 2021. AK's crew is just as professional and kind as he is. They arrived before 8am and worked a full day. The craftsman ship on the built is beyond our expectations. We were getting positive feedback during the build and after it was completed by neighbors and friends. The deck is beautiful the steps are closed in so going up the stairs you can't see through. The lock and the hardware used for the gate looks so sophisticated. It is truly pass our expectations. The crew cleaned up everyday the debris that was left from building. My husband and I are very happy. We are looking forward in using them again to replace the screen door. So the sane that goes "Good things happen to those who wait" it definitely applies here. I don't normally write reviews, but A K construction was such an amazing company to work with. After recently doing an extension on my house I dealt with a number of contractors, all of which left me disappointed with their timing or quality of work. It was a pleasure to deal with A K construction. He did exactly what he said he would do in the time frame he said he would do it and the quality of his work was excellent. He quoted me a fair price and didn't ask for a single penny until the job was done and I approved the work. Every time I called he answered the phone immediately and answered all of my questions. His crew was courteous, polite, hard working and talented at what the do. When I mentioned how happy I was to a manager at ALLIED BUILDING SUPPLY, I found out he was one of the preferred contractors recommended and that he actually put the roof and siding on this particular managers house. The manage was as impressed with his work as I was. I couldn't give him a higher recommendation. We used AK Gatsios for roofing, siding, front door and back French door installation. Him and his team did an excellent job on our home. We are ecstatic with the finished look of our home. He was extremely professional, responsive and was very quick on getting back to us on any questions or concerns we had. Long story short, we bought a new home late last year with a problematic roof. It had the original wood shakes from 1951, with three to four additional layers of asphalt shingles in random patches all over it. We thought it was going to be an expensive job and take forever to remove all those layers. What a great company and what a great roof we now have. I had siding and gutters put on my house by A K Gatsios. The man and his workers were great. He came with a small army of guys who worked on the four sides of the house at the same time, skillfully cutting and placing the siding, three floors coming to a peak, in just two days. Being retired I would spend time outside with neighbors watching from time to time and all were impressed at their work. All the men were skilled and Mr. Gatsios was there the entire time watching and involved in the work himself, cutting pieces and otherwise helping out, and eyeballing anything that might not be up to his standard. I asked Mr. Gatsios not to put siding on some of the trim on the front of the house because I didn't want to have to nail into it to put up holiday decorations and he made some suggestions that were helpful in that regard. I have hired so many people over 35 years in my house for repairs including roofing and gutters. I have to say, the quality, professionalism, price, and cleanup were by far the best that I've ever had. I had a ceiling leak in the master bedroom and I was certain that is was from the skylights that were taken out and re-roofed 2 years ago. After they stripped the shingles off, they determined that it was from faulty flashing from the former roofer. After several steady rains, no more leaks. I met and spoke to Mr. Alkis , approx. 8 months ago .we met at my bldg. in the Bronx and discussed the same issue I had at same location on this perticular roof .Many roofers later and dollars spent , his men worked on my roof over the weekend .we met again on the roof over the week and he showed me the work performed . My roof was leaking last winter and upon the recommendation of my neighbor (Anis..) I called A K GATSIOS INC and his team came out and evaluated the situation and provided me with a free estimate. I signed the contract because of the quailty work they did for my neighbor as well as the price i was offered for the full replacement of my flat roof. My roof needed repair. It was a very rainy summer! I had water coming through excessively on the second floor as well as leaks through to the basement I received two recommendations for AK Gatsios. From the initial consultation to completion, AK Gatsios was absolutely professional. I received an explanation on the process and given a timeframe in which all of the work was completed on time and rather quickly!! We recently had our old aluminum siding removed and vinyl siding placed. A K Gatsios company completed the entire job in three days. The guys removed all the garbage and were very careful to nor leave debris on the neighbor's property either. The siding is beautiful and they paid attention to detail. All the finishes were perfect and professional. They even left a few pieces of J channel so that we would have materials for when we would have a new AC installed. I used them for two big jobs at two different houses. One location they replaced 14 windows, installed 3 through the wall a/c units and all new siding, soffits and gutters.
