DON'T USE THEM! They do poor work, do not honor their warentee and have gone a wall. I had them do my flat roof and the landing. Both roof & landing continues to leak. Last year they had me pay an additional $1800.00 stating if I do this additional work , for sure the landing will no longer leak. Well they bamboozled me twice alone just on the landing because it still leaks Since February the roof is leaking to the degree the ceiling gave way. Without coming to evaluate they stated its the drain not the roof. They kept making excuse, finally after threats, they came and tar around the drain and fixed the landing. Well they both still continue to leak. I had a plumber/ drain man evaluate and he stated the drain is fine the roof leaked around the drain pipe , he stated one of the pipe was not sealed. The leak had destroyed the plywood around the drain & the apartment is taken in water. I three way the plumber with Alex Stewart and he informed of above. Alex told me he would reach out to his father and get back to me with a plan. I never heard back from him and now it's May. He has not answered calls, text, or emails. So much for the Five year warentee. I have had two other professional roofing company up to evaluate and they have confirmed above. In addition they commented on how they did the entire roof wrong & insist I am going to have more problems. I have reported them to the BBB & soon the NYC licensing and plan to take all kinds of legal action. I have a big headache, complaints from my tenants, leaks and property damage! ! Don't use them! read more

So happy that you are licensed. *snickering* I couldn't find it anywhere. How odd is it that you are in business to do work, but your license is nowhere to be found? Do tell...... When you change locations, ownership or anything else that affects your business your credentials should be updated as well. Credentials should be readily available. No one has time to hunt down your licensing information. How absurd in a city of over 8.5MM people? Why make it hard for potential clients to find out what they need to know? THE APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED FOR 11:00A.M. YOU SHOWED UP AT 10:00A.M. I know the early bird catches the worm, but not in my house. read more

We hired them in 11/21. Since we've had to call them 5 times because we have had leaks with rainfall and melted snow. 4/5 times they sent someone out that said they fixed the issue but it's still leaking (a larger leak with a lot of damage to the ceiling and bedroom walls) and a hazard to those occupying that room. This 5th time we called/texted/emailed for the past 3 days and have not received a call back. They say on their website they do emergency work but this is not true because it's been 3 days and we are still waiting for them to return our call. It's been raining in New York and the leaks are getting worse. Unfortunately, they did a really bad job. The guarantee is 10 years. We are in year 3 with massive problems. One can understand that something may got wrong but to not fix the problem is unacceptable. read more

Needed new roof. Stewart Roofing was very responsive and installed new roof at reasonable price. I have a flat roof and have a large accumulation of leaves. A year and a half later they came and cleaned roof and down spout at NO CHARGE! Great service. read more

Called for an estimate on a house I'm purchasing. In the middle of explaining the request, he cut me off and said he won't estimate on a house I don't own and abruptly hung up on me without asking any further questions where I could've told him I'm helping the owner find a price. Very unprofessional. read more

several months ago I had a repair done. There was a leak where my DIRECTV antenna was they repaired it and gave me a receipt with a handwritten five year warranty after two months and a lot of rain. The leak was back after several phone calls to them and being told they would call me back, I still have a leak $1000 later and they ignore me. They fixed it with stuff they had on their truck. It took them 20 minutes if it had worked that would've been fine had they come back and honored their warranty that would've been great. I'm out a $1000 and still have a leak in my roof still thanks a lot. was forced to give at least one star or I couldn't post because they don't deserve any stars. read more

I had some work done well by Al Sr. Then his impolite, pushy son Alex Jr took over the business. He destroyed my home due to his laziness and lack of regard for customer experience. a MUST AVOID at all costs. Older reviews are irrelevant, as Al Sr deserves the good reviews. His son is the worst of the worst. You will be robbed, and in my case, my home ruined. read more

Our whole roof caved in the whole thing was a nightmare I contacted these guys on a Monday and by Friday the whole thing was taken care of they were fast responsding on time at the job neat and trustworthy i would definitely use them again and recommend them thanks guys read more

To summarize my experience; they over-promised under delivered. Work was rushed and incorrectly done. Reading the other recent reviews this seems to be a new consistent pattern. In conclusion if you are in the market for a roofing company my recommendation is to look else where. read more

Called this company and the owner picked up and was very nice and professional. Initially I had thought this was going to be a smooth and good relationship as he had good reviews overall here. Unfortunately that was not the case and the vendor never called the tenant for scheduling and never showed up. I then called several times over 2 day time frame as well as the tenant and no call back or anything. Just lost my business. read more

These guys were absolutely amazing. Showed up right on schedule to survey and gave a thorough explanation as part of the estimate. Above and beyond engaging and respectful and then showed up again - right on time and got the job done - as promised without a hitch. They explained the process during each step of the installation. Honest, reliable, knowledgeable. All my concerns with this large project were alleviated by the level of confidence they provided in how they would take care of us and our home. There were no surprise add on costs. Executed the job above and beyond expectations. I would reach out to this family run business for any additional home needs without hesitation and encourage anyone seeking this type service to work with Al Sr., Al Jr. and the entire A Stewart Roofing team of professionals. Simply put - outstanding service. read more

He charged me $4000 and did nothing, knew how to ask for money but when i needed him to go back and fix what he was suppose to do at the beginning he disappear, stay away. read more

These guys are awesome. After trying unsuccessfully to get another contractor to deal with a leak in my building, I called Alex. He sent his sons over the next day to look at the problem. All three of them were there with their crew the day after that to fix the problem. They spot-repointed and waterproofed the entire back of the building, fixed cracks, redid the flashing on 2 smaller roofs, fixed broken cement on the foundation, and unclogged and repaired gutters... all in one day. Not cheap - none of these guys are - but extremely knowledgeable and responsive. Highly recommend. read more

A Stewart was a terrific find! They came out and gave me a great quote on a roof replacement job in the Bronx. I was even provided photos of the concern spots on the roof so that I could evaluate the situation myself. Highest recommendation. read more

Mr. Stewart, his son and their workers did an excellent job on our garage and home roof repairs. Mr. Stewart is knowledgeable, professional and not pushy. He will make you aware of the different options available and allow you to make whatever decision you feel comfortable with. He completed the job exactly within the time frame he indicated, at the estimate provided. I would definitely utilize his services for any future home repair needs. read more

A random door knock by George Steward led to getting the roof re-sealed. After informing me of work done to surrounding buildings in the area, I opted to let him resurface the roof since it was long overdue. He was polite and not pushy allowing me time to access whether to utilize his offered service. The job took no time since he had a partner (Alex) and used high pressure airless spray equipment. When the work was done, Alex provided a picture of the completed area and a 3 year warranty against leaking. They were efficient which was appreciated and I would use them again. read more

Spoke with Alex on the phone who couldn't have been more kind and informative. He came out to my home, found the cause of the leak and taught my husband and I how to fix it ourselves. Yes, ladies and gentleman, he's a very honest man! I will no doubt be recommending him to anyone! read more

mr.stewart had left me a card in my door so i called him and boy am i glad i did! I have had a leak in my roof for years and have hired 3 roofers in years past who were unable to fix it. so on a whim i called Mr.Stewart and he came right out,he was very nice, clean cut, and answered all my questions. He assured me he would fix my leak without forcing my to put a new roof on (out of my budget,i'm on a fixed income) so he never pressured me into it and he fixed my leak! i would use him again read more

Alex and his son Tom Stewart are real tradesmen, just like they used to make them. I had a small leak on my flat roof and they came to check it out. Instead of charging me a whole bunch of money to do work I didn't need, they recommended I just go to the hardware store and caulk a few places around my roof drain as an initial step. If that fails, they gave me a fair price for a more involved fix. I asked to pay them for their trouble and diagnostics, and they didn't want to accept payment. Breath of fresh air to work with folks with honesty and integrity. Do yourself a favor and call these guys first. You'll get an honest assessment and if work is needed, they will charge a fair price. read more
