At first I did NOT know where the heck my friend was taking me! :P The front door is kinda hidden and in an odd spot so at first it looked like an unmarked location. But my friend frequents here so I got used to it quickly. I like the inside, it's a cute little quaint shop with lots of different varieties. The staff are super nice and friendly. This place was right across the street from our airbnb (look at god). Being from NYC, we don't get the best of the best when it comes to marijuana strains. Most of the weed in NYC is sprayed down and not authentic so being here on the west coast and finally getting the chance to try strains with 100% authenticity is a first time for my brother in law and I. This place had strains we have heard about (ie: GMO, Durban, i95, blue nerds) but never really got to try in its true authentic state. Also a plethora of other strains and products like prerolls, edibles, and such. Might be a sea level thing but I have never smoked weed so clean and got me this high ever before in my life. I've been smoking since high school. I'm 36 now. The weed on the west coast is the itch you have been trying to scratch since your first high.... We have been high as f*ck these past 2 days. This place has great products but bigger than that - and idk if this is a thing on the west coast but.... THEY HAD DEALS/DISCOUNTS! We paid $38 for 4gs of different strains. On the east coast? All around one of the best recreational shops in the PNW. The store is located along MLK Jr. Way southbound. Once you turn off MLK, be sure to take an immediate left and continue about 70 ft past the head shop. The entrance and parking lot will be on your left, facing away from the main road...which is why it is difficult to spot for drive by traffic. For anybody following a map, it's a piece of cake. I came in and was greeted by B. He was as friendly as could be and very welcoming. I was then helped by the manager on shift named Sam, who was patient and knowledgeable. Sam is probably the most personable and easy going manager in the industry. I also noticed that he understands when to take the job seriously to handle any sort of issues that may occur. It's not easy to manage everything that's going on both inside and outside of the store, but he was on top of it. This is important given the moderate level of crime in this area. The owners are lucky to have a manager who knows how to handle situations and customers as well as Sam does. Overall, I enjoyed the company culture as I was greeted by every employee in the shop during my visit. I appreciated that. They may be a small dispensary, but they've got all of the best cannabis products in the industry. There is a large selection of pre rolls, flower, and various concentrates. Their prices are very competitive, and most items are already set at rock bottom. Not to mention, their vendor discount is probably the best I've seen in the industry. This is my new neighborhood shop and it could definitely be worse. They've generally got a wide selection and the staff are helpful once you're in the store. If you're the type who likes to call ahead like me, I've found that they tend to not be as enthusiastic on the phone. I've felt "shuffled off" a couple times when calling ahead. It might just be because they do a bustling trade and theres usually at least one or two folks in the shop, but regardless, thats the thing that makes it 4/5 for me. Friend boy and I came to visit my sister for the weekend. He wanted to try some edibles and this was the closest one to my sister. Nice location, easy walk from the Link station and super friendly staff. If you're a first time visitor, you can sign in and get a 20% discount. I was most impressed with the service. My sister brought her dog with us and the guy at the front said they didn't wait in the cold and they could hang out inside. They were all very nice and knowledgeable about their products. Ok, so this was my first time in a dispensary. I'm a complete newbie who smoked weed once in college and ended up spending the night curled in a ball, freaking out and chanting some relaxation mantra that clearly didn't work. I didn't even know anything about strains back then. It was more like, "Let's smoke this stuff in the ziplock bag that a friend of a friend of a friend sold me." I learned some stuff awhile back from a relative with terminal cancer. It was helpful for pain when morphine was no longer enough. I learned about sativa vs. indica, THC/CBD, terpenes... I became familiar with Leafly and Weedmaps. There's a small parking lot. Fortunately it was pretty empty. I walked in through the door and the smell of weed was potent. You go down a few steps and there's a guy who checked my ID and greeted me. It's a pretty small place, but there was someone ready to help me right away. I knew I wanted a preroll to help me sleep. I have trouble staying awake during the day and sleeping at night. Doctors have given me medicines, but I wanted to try something natural. They have a small selection of prerolls, and I wasn't sure about the strains the bud tender suggested. He was quite friendly, though, and totally cool with it when I asked him if I could look up the strains on the Leafly app on my phone. I selected two of the three he suggested, and he rang them up for me. The whole experience took about 15 minutes. The neighborhood isn't the greatest and it was after 10 at night. I was a bit worried that the place was going to be a seedy dungeon, and that I was going to be walking into an episode of Criminal Minds. I'm pleased to say it was relatively painless. I would definitely try to find a more upscale dispensary if I need something else, but it was adequately stocked and the staff was mellow. read more
