Tea is normal in our family, and because he is little, I take the time to read every ingredient and choose something appropriate for him. I wasn't asking the staff to do that work for me. After settling on rooibos, I asked how the bulk tea worked and was told to scoop what I wanted into a bag and they would weigh it at the counter. I then asked a simple question: about how much does one scoop weigh? I was just trying to estimate whether I wanted two ounces, four ounces, or something in between. The answer was basically, "I don't know," with no attempt to help beyond that. That might sound small, but the entire interaction felt dismissive. If I'm standing in your shop with my child trying to buy a product you sell by weight, a little patience and basic assistance goes a long way. Kids can enjoy herbal tea too. Families have different traditions, routines, and food cultures. I wasn't looking for commentary or judgment. I was simply trying to buy tea for my kid. I left empty-handed and won't be returning.

It's nice to be able to get people something I know that they will love while also supporting a local business and so many small businesses. Recently I went in to get some wrapping paper to wrap books for a book swap and I was so pleased with the quality of the wrapping paper for the price. I was nervous that it would be see through, but it was not see through in the slightest. I got so many compliments on the wrapping paper at the book swap! Once I run out of hand soap I really want to try their waste free options! The staff are amazing and so helpful! They're quick to show you options and help come up with ideas (or let you know when they have more inventory in the back if you like to stock up on Hey Champ bars like me).

Furnaces and parts for them are available here. Sinks, faucets, drain parts are all here as well. Only 2 employees, so if you live in the neighborhood, you can get to know them and make this your one stop shop for hardware. You can look around in here, but you should really ask to find what you need because some of the stuff they carry is in the back. I stopped by toward the end of the year and they had a nice selection of holiday-themed items. The store is of course geared toward home furnishings but they have some gift-type items as well. As far as I can tell, they most likely rotate what they showcase in the store as the season goes but many things can be purchased online. During my visit, they happened to be doing a monthly wine tasting and I proceeded to sample several wines. The wines can be purchased in-store and online. Even during these times I would like to "see" things as I shop (but maybe don't "touch"?), and Two Chicks District Co. is worth a visit. The store isn't big but depending of when you go it won't be a full house.
