I really wanted to like Snakeroot Botanicals, but the customer service left me disappointed…read more I came in specifically looking for loose-leaf herbal tea for my young child. Tea is normal in our family, and because he is little, I take the time to read every ingredient and choose something appropriate for him. I wasn't asking the staff to do that work for me. After settling on rooibos, I asked how the bulk tea worked and was told to scoop what I wanted into a bag and they would weigh it at the counter. I then asked a simple question: about how much does one scoop weigh? I was just trying to estimate whether I wanted two ounces, four ounces, or something in between. The answer was basically, "I don't know," with no attempt to help beyond that. That might sound small, but the entire interaction felt dismissive. If I'm standing in your shop with my child trying to buy a product you sell by weight, a little patience and basic assistance goes a long way. Kids can enjoy herbal tea too. Families have different traditions, routines, and food cultures. I wasn't looking for commentary or judgment. I was simply trying to buy tea for my kid. I left empty-handed and won't be returning.

Boiled wool with the slightest bit of stretch, fits like a freaking glove (and I can't say I have the easiest body to fit). This is not a splurge, but rather an investment. This dress will never go out of style, and as long as I don't eat too many pieces of tiramisu, it'll continue to fit perfectly :) Do yourself a favor and instead of buying 4 crappy Banana Republic dresses that will fall apart in a year, buy one fantastic dress that will last decades (and make you feel like a million bucks). And on a side note, I got a hand-written thank you note from Jessica after my purchase. People like her restore my faith that humanity has not lost all etiquette. I wanted to send her a "Thank You for the Thank You Note" but I figured that would be weird.

When I find the perfect pair, I want them to last as long as possible. Unfortunately, averaging almost 20,000 steps per day, the soles of my shoes quickly disintegrate. Thanks be to God that I found Cento's Shoes. I like mom-and-pop shops; they have dedicated owners whose top goal is customer satisfaction. Cento's Shoes is the paradigm of a generational business, and its atmosphere arouses memories of yore: times when quality and craftsmanship mattered. I love my Samuel Hubbard shoes, and I was nervous for anyone, other than the manufacturer, to service them. My initial instincts were wrong. During my first visit, the owner and I discussed the perfect sole, based on comfort and durability. The following day, he texted me a picture of an available sole, which I accepted. In less than a week's time, the job was complete. The shoes were immaculate, shined to perfection, and all their various nicks and notches were repaired. The new soles provided a more comfortable wear than the originals. Cento's Shoes also sells a variety of shoes, care products, and an eclectic selection of hats. It's the kind of shop your grandfather visited on his way to Lovers' Lane. Cento's Shoe's is a must for anyone who owns fine footwear, and they have my highest recommendation.

Mike took a pair of shoes that were literally falling apart and brought them back to life, even better than before. These Footjoys look better than anything Footjoy sells these days! Mike did such a great job that I dropped off another pair when I picked up my last 2 pair. And I have about 3 more pairs of shoes that are in need of being recrafted, Cento Shoes will be wear I am taking them.
