I first called these guys to get a quote and they got back to me quick. I set up a full install and they did a fantastic job. I am very particular about how my garage looks and the install looks bullet proof. I was nervous at first since the work order mentioned that I might need drywall work but the install was clean (see pics for metal tubing containing electrical wiring). I provided my own Hubbell commercial grade outlet which they installed (my OEM recommended this). They also facilitated the approvals/inspection from the City of HB. I would say they are moderately priced (not the most expensive and not the cheapest). I feel completely safe sleeping at night and have no worries that I might have had with a cheaper installation. I reached out to A-EV Installs to get a Level 2 EV charger installed. After looking at my panel, they told me it was "at full capacity" and said I'd need a full 200-amp panel upgrade and they quoted at $5,600 with a 4-week process. I even asked if we could just add a smaller circuit to avoid the panel upgrade, but they shut that down too. They said my panel was maxed out and that adding anything else would be a fire hazard, citing "safety" as their top concern. They also mentioned they had experience working with HOAs and could help with the approval process. Something felt off, so I got a second opinion. Another licensed electrician came out, reviewed the same panel, and said no panel upgrade was needed at all. He pulled a permit with the city, installed the charger, and passed inspection without issue. When the job was completed and approved by the city with no panel upgrade it confirmed what I suspected: A-EV Installs was pushing an unnecessary, expensive upgrade. Whether it was fear-based upselling or just bad info, I can't say. But it would've cost me thousands and wasted a month of my time. I wouldn't trust this company based on my experience. Always get a second opinion before agreeing to a big job they recommend. I'm glad I did. read more

After a long research, I ended up with two companies that had the highest rate. The first one, they did not cover the paint/patch (cheaper $300) while A-EV Installs covered everything. We had been surprised when we got the alert our car was ready two months in advance of when we expected it so I had to find an installer for our charger quickly. Great Company, Great Service, and most importantly trustworthy. I found them on Google and they made everything so easy from scheduling and explaining the process. They had quoted me $475 but once I sent them the pictures of my electric panel, I was told we would need to install another panel since the one I have was not efficient enough and that would cost another $600. I was perfectly fine with it and we proceeded. The Albert, the tech came out and he was wonderful. Very professional and nice at the same time, explained everything to me down to the last detail. Then when the job was done, he told me he did not have to install the 2nd panel after all, because he figured out a way to make the room in my existing panel.
