I had Rick come out to restore the surface and windshield and wax the vehicle. They did a fantastic job and the truck's surface is as smooth as new. I was all set for a run this morning until I discovered my 2020 Mini Cooper Countryman wouldn't…read morestart. After some diagnostics, I realized it was a battery issue. But when I reached out to some local mechanics, I was quoted $200 just for labor to locate the battery--a bit much in my book. So, I called my brothers back home in PR (both mechanics) for advice, then contacted the dealer to confirm the correct battery type. I headed to the local O'Reilly's, grabbed an AGM battery, and asked them for recommendations on shops that could handle the install. They directed me to Alexys at South Shore Custom Detailing, and it couldn't have been a better recommendation. Although the shop was closed when I drove over, I called the number on the door. Despite being in Sacramento at the time, Alexys promised he'd be in South Lake Tahoe by 7 PM and asked all the right questions about my car and battery, reassuring me that he'd handle it. Right at 7 PM, he arrived at the shop and got to work. If you know anything about Minis, you know they're not the easiest to work on, but Alexys handled it like a pro. He was efficient, organized, and knew exactly where every piece and screw went--there must have been 25 screws, and he made it look easy. Watching him work was genuinely impressive. During the process, we had a great conversation about our backgrounds, families, and hobbies, and he even took the time to teach me a few things along the way. He's friendly, professional, and clearly passionate about what he does. And best of all, he charged a fair price for his skill and the complexity of the work. If you're in the South Lake Tahoe area and need a mechanic, I can't recommend Alexys and South Shore Custom Detailing highly enough.
