It was so clever because dacquoise is chewy with nutty flavor and sesame was lightly sweetened and it reminded me of mochi but just 10000% elevated. I need to come back again. They had amazing sweets there.

Penny has a really great approach to designing wedding cakes! During our consultation, we didn't…read morehave a very clear idea of what we wanted. Luckily, Penny was full of great ideas! She asked us questions about what vibe we were going for, what our venue was like, and what was important to us both aesthetically and sentimentally for the cake to reflect. We were already feeling pretty good about Penny after one phone call with her. THEN we tasted the cake. It was MUCH higher quality then the two other bakers we tasted cakes from. After that we were sold. We hired her to a design a wedding cake that reflected the venue (a rooftop farm in Brooklyn). She came up with the really cool idea of designing a cake that reflected the distinctive bluestone pathways and wildflower groves that distinguish the venue. I felt like I had a unique, meaningful work of art at my wedding! She handled all the logistics of getting the cake to the venue with our coordinators so we did not need to deal with any of that ourselves. Penny is a true pro!

The name illustrates its flavors and consistency exactly - the bar has this chewy cake base serving as a platform for the smooth, sweet, gooey, buttery amazingness that sits atop. The Gooey Butter Cake is $3.75 a slice - so it's not a 'purchase everyday' treat - but if you're out exploring East Williamsburg this weekend be sure to pick up a slice!

That said, I found out today that ordering to-go coffee runs through a different counter, and honestly the barista there was so unpleasant that I won't order out again. She was unfriendly, rushed, and just not kind. A little warmth goes a long way, and that interaction really soured the experience for me. Still worth it for the pastries and the sit-in service but the to-go counter needs some attention.

She was not wrong! My son has an egg allergy, so we decided on a vegan chocolate cake with a dairy frosting. She made a beautiful chocolate cake with the beautiful flowers on top. The cake tasted like a regular cake, and you couldn't tell it was vegan. It was just incredible. Amy's chocolate chip cookies are my favorite, and I also really enjoy her rosewater scones. The day I picked up the cake for my son's birthday, I also got my mom a slice of vanilla coconut cake which I froze for her visit 2 weeks later. She loved her cake, also. There is literally nothing bad you can have her, and her new partnership with Gratitude Leaves is amazing. Gratitude Leaves also has beautiful flowers, so you can get your cake and flowers at the same time.

Ive tried other butter mochi before and they were way too greasy - so good im thinking about going back just to try other pastries too rating: 4.7/5 - love all the flavor and texture of the food and pastries; i was pleasantly surprised by how everything was pretty above average and FOR THE AMAZING PRICE - still not a perfect score because i do think the flavor can be more fun for the burrito; right now it was pretty ordinary but they do it well; super flavorful i didnt even need sauce - got a spacious interior with many seats and a bench outside; great for quick grabs and hippie hangs but not for sitting long - warm and welcoming service IG: @nom.noms.only

The name alone is a small lawsuit waiting to happen as there is nothing, nothing, nothing super about a sandwich at A&C Super. I would know. I ordered the turkey and provolone. This not a complicated sandwich. It is, in fact, the kind of sandwich you order when you want to find out whether or not a place can make a sandwich. They cannot. First, the portions are small. Now, I am no big eater. I talk during lunch, mostly. Occasionally I eat. But this sandwich was so small it seemed less like lunch and more like a suggestion of a lunch. A text message about a lunch. A whiff of a lunch. And dry. I have read legal documents with more moisture. The turkey had clearly been through something awful. No amount of mustard was going to be consolation. I asked the staff a question. The response had the warmth of a Brooklyn parking ticket. That is, if the parking ticket also thought you were stupid for parking in Brooklyn in the first place. A sandwich without flavor. Served by people without humor. This is no deli. It is a grim waiting room where they charge you insane amounts of cash for a grim piece of bread and limp meat. Here's the thing: it's a hip little place with fussy graphic design. And hip little places with fussy graphic design should know their limits. The baked goods? Good. Stay there. Live there. Die there, eventually, smothered by all those fluffy, buttery croissants. But that sandwich? It should be retired. Quietly. I wish them well. Having lunch elsewhere. From a distance.
