Have to write a review after my experience today. I requested a quote for a toilet repair project earlier in the week. They came in reasonably priced and the communication with Jeff, the owner, was great. We were able to fix the original issue on our own but ran into a problem when installing our new sink. I contacted Jeff again to see if they had anyone available and o come out the next day. They had appointments available and again the communication with his was great. I even got text messages to confirm my appointment time, who my technician would be and when he was on his way to the house! Shawn came out to complete the repairs today and he was awesome! Incredibly kind and friendly. He called an hour before my scheduled time because he was able to complete his previous job early. He told me he could come by early or stick with our scheduled time, depending on what worked for me. The work was completed in a quick manner and done thoroughly. I was spending the weekend at my daughters home in Boulder CO, and sitting for my granddogs. The sink in my room had always been slow to drain. I tried baking soda and vinegar, albeit 3 times, it only got worse, even the overflow drain did not work. I called your business and and got a very prompt response. Antonio came and pulled out a hair plug about 8 inches long from the drain. My daughter and her husband have only been in the house 9 month's so this was an accumulation of a few years. I will not do business with A Better Plumber ever again. I contacted A Better Plumber for an emergency water leak of my water heater and my indoor water main valve. They came out the next day to help me shut off the water and started repairs a day after that. The water heater was overdue to be replaced and so was the valve. They sold me a new tankless water heater, a new shutoff valve, a pressure reducing valve, and an inline filter. The total cost was just under $13,000. The installers were professional, the work was good, and the job was done in about a day. I thought the price was a little high but the job was done well and done quick so I let it go. I was a little bothered when they pressured me to sign a document waiving my right to cancel the job within three days but since the job was complete in under three days I let that go, too. I also had a potential sewer issue marked on my inspection (I recently purchased the house) so I asked them to take a look. The person they sent out to inspect the sewer took one look and immediately said all of the cast iron had to be replaced because the additives they put in our food corrode cast iron and if I don't replace it right away it will leak beneath my foundation and cause major problems. He also said the plumbing leading to the cast iron (the "main stack") was outdated and needed to be completely replaced. The estimate he sent to replace the main stack plus 20 feet of interior sewer line was $12,500. I was uneasy with his hard-sell tactics, pushing for immediate repair and pressuring again to have me waive my right to cancel. I decided to call another plumber for a second opinion. The second company says there isn't any clear damage to the cast iron. They offered to do a cleaning for $350 before inspecting again. If it truly needs to be replaced they said it should be around $8000 at the highest. They also said that the main stack was clearly recently replaced and in good condition. They ran scopes around to inspect it as well, which A Better Plumber didn't do. I did some quick searching to find pricing for the items A Better Plumber installed in the first job vs what they charged me. Here's what I found: * Navien NPE-241A2 Tankless Water Heater - Google: $1900 - A Better Plumber: $9599 * Halo 9 Inline Filter - Google: $500 - A Better Plumber: $1800 * PRV-100 Pressure Reducing Valve - Google: $200-$500 - A Better Plumber: $1398.99 My opinion: They did a good job. They charged a LOT of money. They tried to upsell unnecessary repairs. I will not do business with them again. read more

Very bad service experience with these so called plumbers, frist Chris showed up late with no call letting me know his timeline. Didn't even know anything about the plumbing issue I had which was a tankless water heater. After talking with his manager Jeff they wanted to sub out the work to another plumbing company this is what Chris said, crazy for him to be so open about this. After there Price quote of 18,750,00 I politely asked him to leave he got a little mouthy with me. I do not have a whole lot good to say! We called at 9:00 am in the morning as our hot water heater went out. We were told that a technician would be at our house between 1:00-3:00. No problem. We received texts several times from two different people confirming the appt. At noon the ( I quess) office girl calls to tell me the technician called in sick and that they would put me on the schedule for tomorrow. Wrong!!!!!! We called to make sure we could get service today!! Did you not know he called in sick before? They left us trying to find another plumber to come out on Saturday afternoon to install a water heater. Delta shower faucet cartridge replacement to stop a drip. 10 minute job - $599. That's $3600/hour! Website boasts "up front pricing" but when I asked what this might cost, I was told "we never know until we get to the job. But you can see by our reviews, we are very reasonable" Had Travis simply said, "well, it starts at $599 and depending on what else we find, it may increase from there" I would have at least known and been able to make an informed decision. Funny thing is, I was going to have them replace a sink faucet too, but when the tech told me this would be another $700, I told him never mind. Great company. Would highly recommend. Came a day later and fixed our outside faucets from leaks and got frost proof lines welded in. Also fixed our shut off valve and brought it up to code. This company tried to rip us off for $1300 by lying about our water pressure. They said it was 140 PSI and showed us old pictures of a measurement somewhere else. We called another plumber and bought our own meter and it's 60 PSI. Google reviews seems to filter negative reviews for this company so beware. read more

I reached out the day before A Better Plumber Co showed up to provide a bid for a couple services. Daniel and Israel were incredibly professional and on-time. Daniel is incredibly detail oriented, a hard worker, and people oriented. Israel was the Master Plumber and completed all the work, as requested. Israel was eloquent with his presentation, communication, and customer service provided, which is rare. If A Better Plumber doesn't continue investing resources in Daniel and Israel, they are completing missing the boat on how to build a successful business. With that being said, I think it's appropriate to say that A Better Plumber has done a fantastic job with both of their growth to-date. I will make the observation that plumbing service costs have NOT gone down in price but the service provided was exceptional, which I feel is a reasonable basis to assign a five of five star review. read more

Overall, happy with the services. They fixed the issue they came to fix in a timely fashion for a reasonable price. I would give 5 stars, but they did ding me for a few "extras" including $40 for drain cap that they broke, and tried to ding me an extra $60 or so for a crawl space fee which I told him I didn't agree with and he didn't end up charging me for. Called them on a Saturday with stopped up toilet, sink and running toilet. They were here within an hour, did the necessary work to solve our problems, were professional & friendly. During the previous four days we had called seven other plumbers. Two called back to say they didn't serve this area. One wanted $75 to chain up in addition to $119 dispatch fee before even quoting for the work which they would not do over the phone; we left messages at the others but they never returned our calls. It was Christmas Eve at 4pm, and I was five days past my due date, waddling my pregnant belly past the laundry room, when I notice that the carpet is soaked. Turned out the water heater was leaking. My husband was able to stop the leak, but until we got a plumber out, we wouldn't be able to use the hot water... And since we were planning a home birth and I could go into labor at any moment, this felt like a pretty urgent situation! Ill be the 1st to admit when i saw all the positive reviews i was a little skeptical. After using them if i could give this place a 10 star review out of 5 I would. Chris Pierce was my tech / plumber / new friend that did the work on one of my rentals. I watched him go ABOVE and BEYOND one at least a dozen times. He quoted me a price and it didn't change even after the job got more complicated. I was on a tight time line and he EVEN completed the job in the tight time line. I had been dealing with this leaky shower for what seemed like forever. The better plumber guys took care of it and solve problems i didn't even know I had. I can't say enough good things about them. Be careful of these guys. My 84 year old brother in law asked them to look at replacing the spout on the bathtub. Should be a $150 repair, max. Instead they convinced him that he needed $2400 worth of work virtually all of which was unnecessary. Not being knowledgeable about this kind of repair, he agreed and gave them $1200 down. Fortunately, I was able to intervene and cancel the work order, but not until I got an earful of attitude from "Jeff" in management, who clearly flunked the Customer Relations 101 class. Lots of other details that make this look sketchy, but in my opinion this bordered on elder abuse - selling an elderly man a boatload of work that was not necessary. read more

After reading a lot of positive reviews we decided to reach out to A Better Plumber. After coming out they stated the issue of our leak was due too high pressure in our plumbing and to fix it we need a pressure release valve. Even though the fix was a higher price than other companies we decided to go ahead with the company because of their reputation. They installed the ball valve & PRV. After this was installed the worker suggested someone come out and find the leak and was a little confused because that's why I reached out to them. That person came out and didn't find anything. Wish it stopped here but then because of the work they did now our water heater (which is 5 years old) seemingly needs to be replaced (two of three follow up employees who came out told us this). Now we still have the leak issue, a new issue due to "their fix" and now additional items that need to be done as a result of all this. read more

I couldn't fine anyone to replace my sprinkle back flow valve and the inside shut off. A Better Plumber sent Justin the next day and he was finished in two hours (including a trip to get parts). His attitude and work ethic a 10, and the price was upfront and reasonable. I'll use this company again and request Justin to do the job. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!! WORST customer service ever!!! I initially called A Better Plumbing Co due to reviews on google and I WAS WRONG! I knew exactly what the problem was since we had the same issue in the past. So, I even gave the representative a detailed explanation on the problem (CLOG in our pipes). The rep over the phone would not give me any estimate but a simple $39.99 diagnostic fee to check the problem (although I told them this was due to a clog and the same problem we had in the past). The rep still would not give an estimate over the phone but kept reiterating the $39.99 diagnostic fee and would take care of us. So, I gave them a green light. On 1/26/2021 at 215pm, the technician arrives, I show the tech where the problem is...he says it is a clog (this is their $39.99 fee) which I already explained to the rep over the phone. He immediately quotes me at $225 to clear the 2nd line and he did not have the proper equipment currently (this tech was not prepared) to clear the pipes...He pulls an excuse saying the rep that took my call only put basic note with none of my detailed explanation about the problem. I was shocked on the pricing he gave as other competitors out there quotes were $150-$190. So, I asked him why so much? He COPS an ATTITUDE with me saying it is what it is and if you do not like you can find someone else and the $39.99 diagnostic fee was waived (Which I truly believe is false). Even though the quote was steep, I said ok lets do this if you can guarantee to clear up the line for the price of $225. He then COPS another ATTITUDE with me saying this is normal procedure and does not know if there is any other damage etc etc (NOTE: I told them exactly what was wrong but looks like the rep did not listen at all).... He kept asking for the $39.99 diagnostic fee and got so frustrated with me because of the questions I asked. I can tell he did not want to be at the office dealing with my questions. I have ZERO tolerance for companies that have representatives that have HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! With that kind of attitude, I told him to leave IMMEDIATELY!!! There was a little hiccup but overall the service was great. Alex was extremely friendly and showed up on time. Company keeps you updated throughout the process and make it easy to track their employees status and estimated arrival. I also like the fix price that was provide vs. other employees who offered a quote which appeared to be for one or two hours and may increase depending on job, location (crawl space/outside, etc). I don't want to assume or think of other things that may increase your cost when you show up so fix price was great. read more
