Just don't do it! There should be negative stars here. I worked for Home Depot a few years back by referring kitchen makeovers. Knowing what I knew I decided to up my game and go for this company because they had been in business for years and a one stop shop. They SHOULD have quality workmanship. Well, not true. Keep in mind I was going to write a review November 2022 after living a nightmare for a week kitchen makeover that should not have been 6 weeks long. One week no one showed up at all. Had I not been here through the whole process the cabinetry configuration would have been incorrect. The contractors brought their wives with them to hang out and ask to use my bathroom. One contractor snuck in a bathroom break while I was outside and took a dump and did not flush the toilet. I did not notice for about 5 hours and was mortified. I have warped cabinets. Constant arguments with the salesperson. Showing up late if at all. Gee, I should have stayed with Home Depot. No follow ups from a supervisor daily to check and make sure each process was being done correctly. Like a floor float. Not just two dumps of float out of a bucket and move the float with a shovel instead of properly smoothing it with a two by four or something level. NOW, I have a hole underneath the vinyl plank that clicks and moves up and down right in front of my fridge. I have been trying to get this fixed through warranty for 5 months. The end of June I suggested getting with the contractor and setting something up the last week of July or first week of Aug 2023 because of the 4th of July week. Well folks, today is August 18. No phone calls, no nothing. I have been more than patient! All I get is lip service and passing the buck. So I spent 45K on my kitchen and have to put a rug in front of the fridge for the rest of my life because they people were paid and now won't come back. I should have been paid for being Project Manager. It put me on blood pressure medication. I have spent enough of my time on these people and I could go on but I think you get the picture. So I can't tell you what the quality of their work is like.. this has to be a review of their lack of customer service instead. I stopped in and spoke to a David Phelps about coming to my house to remodel my kitchen.. floors, cabinets, counter top, and drywall. I had a plumbing incident happen and my budget was what the insurance company would give me. (about 10k) This place was exactly what I was looking for. A one stop shop that would give me a bid on doing it all. IF they had bothered to show up to the appointment.. IF they had bothered to return my phone call to his cell phone or to the company answering machine. IF I had gotten even a small modicum of customer service or communication. But all I got was stood up and smaller paycheck when I left work early to be home for the appointment. So I guess I should be glad they showed me their work ethic and customer service upfront instead of halfway thru the install.. I will never recommend someone with this kind of experience. I recently worked with A Beautiful Floor to replace most of the flooring in my home, install baseboards, tile our kitchen island, re-do all kitchen backsplashes, and add in some under cabinet lighting. Their prices were fair and all work was completed in about 7 days. The subcontractors were professional, polite, and worked hard. A group of three handled the flooring removal/laminate installation, another person worked on the tile and backsplashes, another helped with the baseboards, and yet another installed the carpeting in our two bedrooms and closets. My single greatest frustration throughout the remodel was the lack of customer service from the "main office." My partner and I paid for the project in full and really expected a bit more involvement from our contact. After dropping off our check, it took a few days to get anything scheduled. "Supervisors" rarely stopped to check in or monitor their subcontractor's progress, there were clear miscommunications about materials, and our main contact within the company was out of pocket for the majority of the project. Our calls to the office were often met with, "Oh, he's with a client." or "Oh, that's not my guy. --- will have to call you back." I do not recall an instance where a call was actually ever returned, either. My partner had to reach out repeatedly until our contact answered or showed up. We had planned on remodeling our bathroom as well, but, frankly, we're going to look elsewhere. 3 stars because the folks that did the work appear to have done it well. read more

I had my countertops and backsplash in my kitchen done by A Beautiful Floor. The work was done as scheduled and completed on time. The workmanship was excellent and I had no problems with the customer service. I am in the process of getting my floors done in the entire house and believe I will get the same excellent experience. They have earned a repeat customer with me and I will definitely recommend them to my friends looking to remodel. It was well worth it! read more

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR DO NOT USE THEM! Worse experience ever! I tried to give them a second chance but this company has warranty issues, quality issues and even ethical issues because they really do not care if you are not satisfied and lack terribly transparency. I am thinking filing for a claim since I had to have to repay a contractor to come and correct the damages to my existing property they did and there is definitely defective workmanship. When I show people the pictures of the poor sevice they provided , everyone is outraged. I tried to support Mike although my husband told me not to, by giving him a second chance but for him hiring cheap labor is all that matters. They were just 800$ cheaper than the other remodeling company but the other company seemed very competent and transparent about their pricing. I regret not having chosen them. First time 2013: They used to work with a good subcontractor who did decently install hardwood floors. But they defectively installed glass tiles. So since I wanted them to come back rectify all the defective services they previously did in my house. 2916: I hired them for new kitchen floors, bathroom countertop, add Windows door in garage , and dry hall: they badly failed by providing poor service , there was no supervision , the only times I saw Mike ( the manager ) is to pick up his check !!!!!! We had a total remodel done on our house by ABF. Our house was completely redone from top to bottom, front to back and side to side. We had all of the bumps removed from the walls and the popcorn removed from the ceiling. The kitchen and bathrooms were gutted and totally redone, including removing the tub and putting in a walk-in shower in the master bath. We had all new cabinets and counter tops put in the kitchen and new floors throughout the house. David Phelps helped guide us through the process and made excellent recommendations for materials and color combinations. We could not be happier with the finished product. The quality of workmanship is outstanding. The cost of the whole remodel was very reasonable and worth every dollar. We could not be more pleased with the finished product. We will recommend them to anybody we know looking to remodel their home. read more

After interviewing several companies using different approaches in regard to updating master bedroom/bathroom, we used ABF to replace master bedroom carpet and to replace/update shower. We worked with David Phelps who was of great assitance through this process. ABF's shower tile installer was excellent. Our paint contractor from another company stated whoever did the shower tile was to be commended. ABF's shower door sub contractor had a few problems -- took 3 times -- however, we are pleased with the finished product. ABF's carpet installer (subcontractor) was not as professional as we would have liked. He rolled the new carpet out in the dirty street to cut it. If he had been patient I would have moved the vehicles out of my driveway -- which we powerwash yearly -- for a cleaner surface. Or I could have provided him with Doillar Tree blue tarps we have on hand for projects. Most contractors we have dealt with in Houston -- we own several properties in other places -- they are always in a big hurry. Get there and immediately go to work which usually results in a problem or a less than desired product. When we called David Phelps with any of the problems he was there to intervene and help. The project was ending when Covid 19 broke out. Again David Phelps was there to assist when we were finishing up the project. We were pleased with ABF and any problems with subcontractors we attribute it to the way business is done in a large city like Houston. read more

We had our floors done over the summer and let me say that the quality of the work and the customer service from the tradesmen was top notch. We are very happy with the finished product. That being said, the level of customer service we received from the salesman, David, was among the worst I have ever experienced. All was going well, he was very attentive as we worked through the estimate process and initial payment. Once the job started he was hard to find and unresponsive until he needed more money. And, when brought to his attention it did not get any better. I could not, in good consciousness, recommend his service. read more

My Mom and I went into ABF to look for kitchen designs for cabinets, back splashes and countertops. David Phelps was one of the nicest, most helpful sales people I have met. Even when I told him my condo wasn't in Texas (since they cater to local homes) and because I was in town we just stopped in to look at different designs, he STILL continued to help me and give me awesome ideas for cabinets that I would have never thought of on my own! He is beyond excellent and I would highly recommend anyone to go into their store - they have a huge variety of selections for the entire home and David is more than knowledgable for home designs and renovations. If I lived in Houston, I wouldn't look any further and would go to ABF and ask for David's help!! read more

Nice people when you go to buy something, after you've paid thery could care less about you. Spent $8000 on floors, the salesman David said he would be out there for the install which he never showed. The install crew installed the floor in the wrong room, floor was finished and then I started noticing pieces unglued and loose. Called David back out to show him what the problem was. He said it would be fixed in a couple of days. 12 days has gone by and no show or call. I went to the store and asked what was going on and David said he forgot about me and then was very patronizing towards me when I expressd my dissatisfaction. Now I have to wait another 6 days for them to come out. Typical salesman mentality, tell you what you want to hear for a sale. You've lost a future customer. Good job. read more

The sales men claim they do not know when things will be scheduled. The scheduling has nothing to do with the length of the job. I have had stain sprayed on my stairwell banister resulting in over spray on my marble. I had to find the contractor to polish the marble because the representatives of the store insisted it needed to be sealed which was inaccurate. I had wood floors installed. My formal dining room table was used to place tools on. The table has two wide scratches on it all the way through the varnish to the wood. There are footprints on the wood from the contractors and grey "stuff" stuck to the floor which clearly is the prep material. The store rep told me he meant to leave me cleaner to clean it up;then proceeded to show me how to "clean" my floor. The place he "cleaned" still has the footprints. I have gaping holes in the wood near a closet. I have molding pulling up. There are sharpie marks on the wood; it appears these were markings for the wood to be cut. I have wood putty stuffed in the transitions. I believe the putty was an attempt to cover the wood which was incorrectly cut. The store has assured me they will correct these issues. That was two days ago. There representative is great at repeating himself over and over and yet I still wait. They are suppose to get it fixed today...waiting. It seems their time is valuable, but yours not so much. My list goes on.... bottom line use another store for any flooring needs you may have. read more

This company has been a terrible problem for me. They told me the work was going to be done in just a few days and now I am in week number five and still my kitchen project is not completed. Their lack customer service and their representatives are very unprofessional. Beth and another guy named Bob lied to me and he said he was the new owner of the company came to my house to supposedly fix the problems pending to have this completed but instead I ended up being treated rude and with threads about calling lawyers and putting a lean on my house, all because I was holding on to the last payment until the situation was resolved. The granite in my kitchen was installed with cracks and there was a space left between the wall and the granite of 0.5 inches and they pretend to just glue some cocking on it, etc. I to this point have requested to have the real owner of the company and I have not been contacted. Very upset because they charge but just send cheap labor to do the work and they don't bother to make sure it is done properly. The representative Beth refuses to give me the receipt for a payment of $2,000 I gave over two weeks ago and at this point I am extremely frustrated with the people they sent to do the work except the painter, the rest left me waiting few times, some came to repair things and leave without verifying if I am satisfied with the work done and others have told me they are coming back later and never show up. To summarize a disaster and another bad decision on my part to have then work in my house thinking that it would have been a short and stress free process. read more
